Any way to view PDFs and Word files that are attached in the gmail client running in GC14's Java? They just seem to open as plain text.
Any way to save such attachments to my storage card?
Any way to attach a file while in native gmail?
I realize that these tasks become doable if I have my gmail sent to my 6800's email. But for various reasons, I prefer to run gmail native.
would it be possible to do both? and just do a manual send/recieve in pocket outlook when you want to access an attachment?
obviously not the best solution but seems a quick and simple one

Is there a way of setting Pocket Outlook to display the size of the email that's waiting on the server, instead of the size of the truncated bit that it has downloaded. I have unwittingly downloaded some big (ie expensive) emails because I couldn't see their real size.
If Pocket Outlook won't do this, is there an alternative?
Regards,
Mike
not sure if it's a true alternativ but
most pop3 mail systems olso offer
a webclient option so you can check mails from a browser
i use this option alot because i get about 20->50 spam mails from korea each day (not really sure why because i dont read the language heck my system cant even display the chars )
also it's a good way to avoid mail virus's since they dont end up on your computer when you handle your mails using the www interface
When I use pocket explorer to check and send email using my web-based email accounts such as yahoo or gmail, the button to attach files to the messages doesn't appear when I create email messages.
Is this a natural problem of pocket IE? Is there any way to attach files to messages using web-based email and pocket IE?
most likely this has to do with how much PIE supports scripts/java and other things. I'm not so informed of exactly what the problem is, but suffice it to say that it is not supported in PIE. You might want to try netfront.
sorry, you can use a webmail like gmail which supports pop3 and then you can simply load those settings onto the Magician and work from there, that's what I do and it's far more convenient. If you don't have a gmail account and want one, PM me your email address and I'll invite you.
aha, thanks for the info Xilicon! Thanks for the offer as well. I have a gmail account already, but I haven't set it up for pop3 yet. I'll do that soon as I can. Thanks again!
Is it possible to be able to view all of my folders on my Google Mail account and not just my standard inbox.
Hotmail works perfect...I can view everything...It syncs all folders available.
But Google Mail doesn't.
Any ideas? Or is that as good as it gets.
Thanks
I suggest trying out Google Mail Pop3-mail.

That's what I've done. It doesn't sync my custom folders that I've made or anything like that.
All I get is the standard folders such as inbox, deleted, drafts, sent items and outbox.
I want to be able to see all of my folders that I have just like I can view them in a normal browser.
I didn't know you could syncronize folders using POP3, but I've been wrong before (this one time in 1984 I think  )...
I'm looking for a solution to make emails on my Galaxy S either Autofit to the screenwidth, or failing that, allow me to zoom out to achieve the same. (to match the default behaviour in the iphone app, or even in the Android browser)
I've tried both the Gmail, and Email clients provided, as well as K9, but HTML mails still appear 'zoomed' in.
Any tweaks, or other apps I could use?
My dad is having issues viewing attachments on his Gmail account on his Focus. I also have a Focus and can view email attachments fine (both for my university email and personal Yahoo! email). He's had issues with both PowerPoint files (.pps) and an Adobe Reader file. A strange thing about this is that when he forwarded the email to me to see if it would work, the attachment appeared just fine and I was able to download it.
Thanks for any answers.
as for the adobe attachment. Does he have the free adobe x reader app installed. Also, is he saving the attachements to his phone and then open them with appropriate program. Also, he might want to delete gmail account on phone and set it up again or go into settings gmail account and see if all settings are correct.
