Is there a way to disassemble and clean the 8125 so that the keyboard will operate better? After years of use certain buttons are beginning to fail. It makes operation pretty tough.
Any auggestions? I can't seem to search and find the right terms.
Search for the Wizard Service Manual, its got complete disasembly instructions and pictures. It does not tell you how to clean the keyboard specifically, but it does have all the info you need to get to that step.
Thank you!

Hello All,
I'm a newbie here and am currently using a GSM Treo 600, but have a GSM 8125 on the way. As a message board veteran (cigars, poker, etc...) I tried my due dilligence and have been reading and searching topics for the past day. It's simply too much info (a good thing) and the relevant topics that I find have so many posts with updates that I have a hard time keeping stuff straight.
I'm looking for direction on what type of things to upgrade and what must have programs I should add to the 8125. I realize that this type of post probably appears much too often but I have truly been overwhelmed with all the information that is here. For example, I've seen many posts regarding flashing the ROM but I was unable figure out what the latest ROM version is (created by Summiter) and I'm also unsure of all the benefits of flashing the ROM.
Any assistance will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!!!

I just got mine 1 week ago and this is what I did to make it run nice. I say that because after one day of use on the original cingular rom it was already acting up.
Go to these links in the forums and do as they say. Summiter and these guys have done us a great service with all their work. All this is free too.
Go here first:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33796
down load the lokiwiz version 0.2b and use it as the directions specify. You may as well SuperCID unlock the device if you want to upgrade the rom in the next step or it won't work. Remember to SuperCID after you take the first step.
From there go to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=48587
Read though it to about page 3 or 4 and find the link to the ftp site. Download the program and run it following the directions.
Don't panic when it hits 98% and freezes. That is standard. It will finish up eventually and reboot the 8125.
My 8125 runs perfect and I love the tiki theme. Summiter is great at helping and many of the other users really help also. Also, if you can't hook up to your Microsoft Exchange Server with Activesync when your 8125 is connected through the usb port, disable the proxy server in your internet settings.
Have fun. This is easy to do - I am a novice and had no problems.
THANK YOU Addicus! I appreciate you taking the time to point me in the right direction.
wow me too. im a noob and just got my 8125 and noticed its acting up abit. i'll try all this later on. hopefully i wont have any trouble doing all this stuff. thank you.
new here would like to know if any one could help me find a program to take out the useless programs on my cingular 8525 and if any one knows how to change the splash screens
thanks
Welcome.
Welcome to the forum. There is alot of useful information here. The first thing is to get to know where and how to use the phone from front to back. You should start by reading the wiki. Everything you would ever want to know is there. As for changing things around on your phone, you should learn about it first. Last thing you would want to do is mess up your phone by not knowing and understanding what your doing. When in doubt dont do anything unless your sure of it. Also use the search button, it will be your best friend in time of need.
Welcome on board bubba433.
nyc_medic's advice is good. Particularly as removing pre-packaged applications from your phone is not as straightforward as it sounds as it requires changes to be made to the extended rom - that's quite a learning curve.

Guys,
I have searched but can't find any results - my keyboard is just naff, I've lost my full stop (due to the key getting trapped when opening/closing) and now my T button doesn't work unless I press it incredibly hard.
Anyone know how easy/hard it is to remove and perhaps check for dirt behind thats preventing my T button from workin?
Cheers, Ash

Here is the English version of the Wizard Service Manual. Complete disassembly and re-assemby instructions included. By far the most comprehensive manual you will find for your Wizard.

Just wanted to say thanks. Some people only come here to take and leave. I appreciate it.
Thanks for giving back.

I like to give back to the community that helped me so much when I was getting started. I do what I can whether it be something simple like providing the Wizard Service Manual or something more difficult like cooking, I do what I can...
anyone have a service manual to disassemble dopod 838? I know that inside it's htc wizard, but when I see the manual it seems that the placement of screws and everything is rather different.
I have been pouring over these threads for a few weeks and I can't seem to catch up with the pack. I am interested in the modified ROM using the open touch and slide to unlock feature but was wondering how it will effect performance. (obviously the wing/herald isn't going to compile a 3d map this century, but it is at least managable at this point). I use the battery status plug-in along with the SPB mobile shell and pocket plus now, but I HAVE to have my TOMTOM and media player be functional after the ROM flash. I have gone back to default page file size for now but that's an easy swap. I guess I am just confused as to where to start. I have read the stickys but I'm still not getting it. Perhaps I should just go back to my iPaq 6315 and the raw power it contains.
Any help would be appreciated.
did you try to search
good luck
i havent really focused on it, but custom roms seem plenty fast. if you can run it now, it will probably work after you flash a rom.
as for where to start, check out the rom development forum. most of the roms will have installation instructions in the first page or two.
its not really that hard, just read the entire process from start to finish before you actually do anything. its really just a matter of installing files in the right order
Herald............... HERA100, just HERALD or P4350
T-Mobile Wing is a slighty modifed version of HERALD, called ATLAS (HERA110)
Theorically, both r compatible... But in practice way, they aren't
Thanks for all of the responses. It is a T-Mobile Wing by the way.
