question - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

hi I have a question. I installed wm 6.1 on my Hermes 100 or Cingular 8525 from this site. I was wondering how can I uninstall it because I do not have windows vista. The message that my phone reads that the beta test is has concluded. I have tried hard and soft reset neither has reset it back to wm 6 or 5. I cannot use any of the phone functions and I really need my phone. Do have or solution or know anyone who can help me.

You need to post at the appropriate thread, which rom did you download?

upgrade to 2003 on qtek 1010, Can't start after reboot

Hi!
I got a major problem when i upgrading my Qtek1010 to PPC 2003..
It works really good until the machine goes on suspend or i try to reboot.
I can't get it to restart, it's like the "on button" is broken. If i press soft reset the machine boots up really fine OR if i open and close the sim card holder...
Does anybody have a clue over what's wrong? I have been trying to find the answer on the forum but with no luck...
/Mike
Have you KSE Truefax on your device?
Than this is the problem....
HTH
Stefan
hmm, another error..
Thanks for the help, the phone is working now, except for one thing.. GPRS!!
Vodafone has made som upgrade on GPRS so QTEK want's me to send the phone to service... There should be a way to solve this without sending the phone... Do you have any idea? Maybe it's the radio that needs upgrading?
do you have the right settings for vodaphone where you live ?
often you have to manualy setup such settings in connections after a rom upgrade
you can try search for which settings vodaphone use
I've tested different settings, but i don't think that's the problem. i think that i have to use the right radiostack or something like that to get it to work..

SD card being deleted

Hi,
I recently upgraded to WM 2003 using LumpiStefan's ROM kitchen. Since then my SD card occassionally erases itself. Also tried WM 2003SE and it lasted a day before being erased.
Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
Dale.
It's a bug in the OS....
Try entering thi in the registry:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\PCMCIA\SDCard]
"BlockTransferSize"=dword:00000028
"FSD"="FATFSD.DLL"
"Prefix"="DSK"
"Ioctl"=dword:00000004
"IClass"=hex(7):7B,00,41,00,34,00,45,00,37,00,45,00,44,00,44,00,41,00,2D,00,45,00,35,00,37,00,35,00,2D,00,34,00,32,00,35,00,32,00,2D,00,39,00,44,00,36,00,42,00,2D,00,34,00,31,00,39,00,35,00,44,00,34,00,38,00,42,00,42,00,38,00,36,00,35,00,7D,00,00,00,00,00
"Dll"="SD.DLL"
Some people have reported that it fixes the problem.
But as everytime without any warranty.....
Stefan
The Wm 2003SE rom already has those settings. unfortunately i am still having the same problem. Any advice as to what to try now?
Correction. The only difference is the value of Iclass. I have updated this as you have suggested. I am back to WM 2003 because I kept having other problems with WM 2003SE.
My device now does not even recognise that an SD card is installed. I am not sure what has happened.
Also the model number has changed to 10B1 rather than 10A any reason for this?
i am running WM 2003 4.02.04
The model change from PW10A to PW10B is fixed by a value of the ROM, but this causes no problem.....
Maybe this fix do not work with this ROM....
Maybe you should change back the values....

I have used several of the 2003 Roms as well as the 2003SE rom and all of them have this problem with the card. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi, I have just experienced this problem with Wallaby & Windows 2003SE, does anyone know if downgrade to Windows 2002 would solve it? Thanks in advance.

Erasing of SD-Card is just a problem from WM2003 (final, beta and SE....)
Stefan
LumpiStefan: Thanks for the answer. I tried to downgrade to 2002 but the absence of landscape mode is too much to bear...
Im not sure but i think that the beta 2003 version doesn´t erase the sd cards, if my memory doesnt fail that was the version i had after puting 2003 se.
hi, im also having te same problem wit hthe card wiping, just like to knw, how do i enter this ino the regeistry? am new with that sort of thing, would it be too cheeky to ask fr astep by step guide? i have phm registry editor and wm2003
thanks
Conclusions in 2003 SE
I have a few hints about this problem but are early speculations;
1.If you soft reset with the card inserted it will erase somethimes.
2.Do not quit the sd card while some apps are runing (like mp3 player) this will make the sistem slow.
Anyone has more experiences to share?

please help me

I believe we need more information to be able to help you, like the method you used to update the phone, did you SIM unlock, Application unlock and CID unlock? Can you phone still access bootloader. In many cases, reflashing the same a 2nd or 3rd time helps. I know that when going from WM2003 to WM6, it is bet to install WM5 after WM2003, then go from WM5 to WM6. Perhaps you are making too many of the wrong moves?
If youare currently on WM203, go to WM5 then after WM5, go to WM6. You may also simply have a bad SIM card. If so, your local O2 shop will replace it for you. - Good luck.

WM6 upgrade fails,need help,will donate if problem is solved (please help)

After I read http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM6_WizzardUpgrade4
It says The WM6 does not work on PH20A2 (Harrier) (Audiovox PPC-6600 / PPC-6601 / XV6600)/ CDMA device! <-- that is my mistake
My mistake steps:
1. upgrade 2003 2nd edition to WM6 (I see 4 color strip with "NO GSM" at the bottom, stuck in there. The PPC will stop if I remove the battery for a few seconds and put battery back)
2. use mytt <-- may not hurt (I see 4 color strip with "NO GSM" at the bottom, stuck in there. The PPC will stop if I remove the battery for a few seconds and put battery back)
3. Do hard reset, format the PPC (stuck in white screen, then do soft reset. The PPC will ""NOT"" stop if I remove the battery for a few seconds and put battery back)
reflash
Have you tried re-flashing with the original ROM?

What do you mean reflash?
Does it mean that Reinstall the WM6, or install other OS like WM5?
However,Without activesync how can I do that?
OR reflash mean formart?
I try to fomart my ppc, but stuck in the white screen
You got to revert back to WM 2003 SE with your original OS.

I tried to upgrade my win2003 2nd edition in ppc 6600 to WM6, but it seems that WM6 won't work with ppc 6600. Then,
1. I download the WM5 rom from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Helmi
2. Try to reflash the PPC
3. I see that the PPC response
4. Try to do the reset after finished upload rom
5. Four color strip screen & "NO gps" and "5.02... WWE"
6. Try to restart again, and wait, result is the same
7. Try to go to bootloader mode, use mtty, do "set 14 0", "task 28", "task 0", PPC still keep the same. I have tried all reset, hard reset, etc
8. *** Try to reflash the PPC again, I find out that there is no current ROM when the ROM upload program try to read my current PPC condition.

You did very stupid thing, you have flashed GSM based rom to a CDMA device, the only thing you can do is to use WM2003SE, flash your device with its original or any CDMA (Harrier) based WM2003SE rom
Quick Howto:
Put your device in bootloader mode, put it on the cradle, start the upgrade including radio (the same version can be flashed on top of the previous one), this will fix your device, if it does not then after successful WM2003SE upgrade do the MTTY "set 14 0", "task 28", "task 0".
Keep me posted if you have problem
P.S.
WM5 and WM6 does not work on Harrier (CDMA Blueangel) device, i hope my instructions to help you to have at least usable device

So far, I can use the phone without any problem. Previously, I tried to upgrade my phone because I want to use bluetooth headset to listen music. That can only be done in WM5 or later. Now I reinstall my CDMA version of WM2003. I find out that the bluetooth does not work due to expire of lincese key. Does anyone have any suggestion how I can over come it? I just want my phone back to exact a few day ago. Thanks
thanks
lincese
Someone has posted the attached file and said that it can fix BT license expired error. I have not tried it myself since I dont face such prob, so use it on your own risk.
To use it - extract archive to your PocketPC and run EXE file.

It seems, some components are missing.
What can I do?
Thanks,
Nomel
Hi Nomel, i have the save issue's. after several soft and hardreset and different installation of applications, i also find the error in symantec pc anywhere mobile.
i don't know how. but after a hardreset and a clean system i install only pca mobile. works first fine. but if you softreset your hd you cannot anymore run or reinstall it !!!!

Symantec pcAnywhere mobile install on HTC Touch HD
Hi!
I have the same problem.
When I first install pcanywhere 12.5, it works fine, but in the first time I soft reset, it stops running.
After that, I have uninstalled and try to install again, so it give me this message:
‘Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions.’
The interest thing is that I have a Samsung Omnia with windows mobile 6.1 too, and works without any problem. I can soft reset and it still working.
The bad news is that I have contacted Symantec Support and they don't know what is happening. I start in the beginning of this month my first contact and four attendant try connecting with my pc, staying 3 hours and still have no solution for this problem.
They say that will contact me, but I’m still waiting.
If anybody knows how to resolve, please tell me. If I find the solution, I’ll put it here.
Thanks for everybody.
I have been using PCAnywhere for months with no problems after many soft resets.

I'm having the same problem. I'm using NFSFAN's custom ROM on my HTC Touch. Only on his later 2 versions does this problem occur. I believe he got the ROM build from the Omnia....
So, the problem could be some kind of conflict between the program and these newest builds of WM 6.1.
Damn....
I have the same problem with rom 1.56 ITA . with the previous version everything was ok even after softreset. with the new one I find the described error during install
htc touchpro2 pcanywhere solution
i have installed pcanywhere 12.5 on my htc touchpro 2 and it worked great until i soft reset it (powered down and up again) and i get the same problem. wont run and wont reinstall. so i threw pcanywhere 11.5 in the ol' cd rom and just installed the moble onto my phone and it works just fine. i still have 12.5 installed on both my machines and the mobile 11.5 connects to my xp box great. not sure about vista or win7. try that guys. hope it works!
This worked for my Touch Pro 2
I found this fix somewhere (don't remember where).
But if you rename
MFC80***.DLL to MFC80***.dll
there are a few of these files in the Windows directory.
I used resco explorer and hit rename and it automatically made the .DLL to lowerecase .dll and voila, pcAnywhere mobile worked.
You may have to do a fresh, new install and then do the rename before a reboot.
I hope this works for you.
