Soft Reset Cab - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 ROM Development

Hi all,
Can anybody please upload the cab file for the softreset (PSshut) for WM6
Thanks
mOrph

what do you mean bro? do you want to soft reset? you dont need any cab to do that... just do it like anyone did that... (put your stylus at the hole.. you know where it is right?) but you can try 3rd party software like memaid, etc it has the options to soft reset ur device...
cheers
evo

there are two light applications that i know which can perform a soft reset: pbar and psshutxp
the latter is attached. pbar is in the development and hacking section.

Hum if i press shutdown after i have installed it only shutdown the backlight and then back on again not really of as i can do with my qtek 9100
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=4692
I have been using this software without any problem in my Dopod 900
I don't get it. Why would you pay $3.99 to shut off the device?
You can use my VJKeyPress with a command line 223 to power off the device, as indicated here:

thanks vijay555, now my universal shutdowns right.

Has anybody PQz up and running on the Wizard

Hi,
i want to use PQz which can remap some keys of the HW keyboard to be CTRL or ALT. So CTRL-C and CTRL-V as on the big brother - PC - is able.
Unfortunatly i get an error message after starting PQz:
Keyboard Hook failed
At first i thought that is Cap-Notify causing the problems and have renamed it from the autostart folder. But it seems that this is not the problem.
Has anybody the progi up and running? For a complete installed prog list of my device see below.
Here are the links to PQz:
http://www.nicque.com/PQz/DOC/index_e.htm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...tart=350&sid=bb9aa6276b3535371c550315b7569bc8
Yes it works for me on my Qtek 9100 with PQz not PQzII unfortunatly.
Have you try to install PQz after a hard reset to see if you have the same message with no other apps install. If not try after to install one app after another to see the one who is hooking the keyboard.
No problems here using PQZII on my 8125 with the 2.17 ROM.

Which apps have you installed? Anyone not which is on my list?
And what apps have you in your Autostart folder?

I have tried PQy II only. I have deactivated all "critical" apps (Magicbutton, Smallmenu, Smartskey, Capsnotify etc.) to see if this has an impact on PQz2 - but it worked not at all :x
What error message did you get during using PQzII. The same as mine?
I will give PQz one a try
I have solved the problems:
It was PocketBreeze. I have checked the option: only PocketBreeze uses DPAD in the general settings section. After unchecking it, PQz2 works like a charm.
Use with CapsNotify?

Wow! Good catch! Saved me some trouble. (Mine wasn't bombing but D-Pad was inoperable)
Here's another issue. It seems to mess up the CapsNotify tweak. A little square shows up instead of the dot or the circle. Anyone find a setting that takes care of that?

My first problems with Advantage

Hello! Just bought an HTC advantage and I have some questions:
- I have installed TomTom 6 and Pocket Informant Pro and both programs start when I do a reset. I've checked the \windows\startup folder but nothing's there.
- Please see my today screen attached; I can simply remove the traybar (even without a icon on it). The only one that appears is TT when put on background. That's the reason???
Best regards,
Deiota

The TomTom issue is nothing to do with startup folders - rename the folder called 2577 on your SD card to something else or delete the autorun file in it.
You can get rid of the taskbar and also the softkeys if you install wisbar advance. Not sure if the latest version is out yet but the beta was pretty stable when I tried it a few weeks ago. There are a few other threads in this forum regarding it, have a look around.

Thanks for the tips but I dont want to install wisbar.
I simply want to remove this bar.
Best regards,

Skipping software instalation

Does anybody know what to do in order to block software instalation after a hard reset? I do not want touch Flo 3d or any other third party program installed,...I just want a "pure" wm6.1

While you can still always disable Manila, you can soft reset right before it starts to customize and skip it.
I remember from my ex HTC Kaiser that it used to be a key combination to press in order to avoid program customization after a hardreset...do not know if it works by trying to softreset in that moment

Anyone tried this? What's the results in terms of speed and available ram? are we left with a usable clean Rom?
Any disadvantages, other than lack of apps?

[APP] PLAzmA Manila Rhodium VGA Comm Manager Skin (BETA 1)

Having recently installed XBmod Manila Rhodium VGA Port (here) i was annoyed that my comm manager skin was still the stock O2 blue skin
I search for ages to try and find someone how had made a black one, the closest i came was this which isnt black and this which had render issues and had the white left buttons, so it might not be perfect but i made one.
If anyone has any suggestions or the original Manila Rhodium VGA background on its own please send it and your suggestions over and i will see what i can do.
Also ive design this so it will just replace your existing skin and not change the existing options on your comm manager page like add the 3g button if you dont already have it.
PS ignore the background looking so crap in the screen shot, this is largely because of soti pocket controllers preview mode being a lower colour base.
MIRROR Standard: http://rapidshare.com/files/213416974/PLAzmA_Rhodium_VGA_Comm_Manager.cab.html
UPDATE: (3G)
I have also created, a version which will enable a 3G option in comm manager, personally i dont use 3G so i didnt bother writing it in but im sure some people will want to have it
MIRROR 3G: http://rapidshare.com/files/213485222/PLAzmA_Rhodium_VGA_Comm_Manager_3G.cab.html
Issue: after installing this onto my device the background of the Comm Manager is still white, along with white font color and dark icons as in your screenshot.
plazma247 said:
Have you done a soft reset ??
Also what phone and rom are you running it on?
As far as i can see from looking at other skin cabs the background files are always called P_BG.png and L_BG.png and are not set by a reg key and called by comm manger program directly.
Please post problems / answers to the comm manager thread instead of xbmod's thread as its a bit off topic thanks.

"CommManagerUIStyle" was set to 4 instead of 2 as in your provided fix.reg. I'm waiting for my device to startup as I type.
Btw, can you recommend a good register editor for VGA devices? Used PHM, but wasn't able to import your reg file.
EDIT: yepp, by changing that value from 4 to 2 I'm able to view the black background. Thank you =)!

Sure if you can find me any other comm manager cab thats wvga i will strip it apart and rebuild it to support the Rhodium skin, i looked and havnt found one yet.
Alternativly if you can extract me the following files from your windows folder:
Function_Bluetooth.png
L_BG.png
P_BG.png
and give me a registry export of :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager
and all sub keys zip/rar them and send them over, i can then rebuild back into a cab, i need the registry key as ive not got a blackstone and need to double check the reg values

Cab didnt work
Hi ,
Tried to install the cab but fails immediatly with when i just pressed the cab file.
My phone : Raphael unbranded Netherlands
ROM: ROMeOS 1.90.1
Radio 1.12.25.19
Only thing that I could imagine is my other commanager from nadavi that adds the 3 g is corrupted with this version.

I would make sure your comm manager isnt running in memory when you install, ive actually made the pack so it has a 3g and ir option if you have already modded to get 3g or ir to appear on the comm manager.
However if you want to uninstall nadavi version, ive made a 3g version especially for you see the main thread for download.
I'm sorry, but I can't seem to actually use my Comm-Manager since I installed yours. The style is awesome for sure, but it's not very usable at the moment:
Clicking on an item highlights the current item, but does nothing; no toggling of Bluetooth or WiFi...
Clicking on the ON/OFF button for a function doesn't function either... same as above
In Rhodium Manila when I press the title for WiFi or Bluetooth the device vibrates and I'm taken to scanning mode (scan for AP's or BT devices)... this functionality is also gone.
EDIT: and I can't seem to uninstall it either. Typical
Uninstall
Not sure whats going on there, try and re-install over the top, it will tell you old version will need to be removed, say yes and then cancel the install when it comes to reinstall.
what rom are you running ?
Actually ive just noticed that since ive install XBmod latest manila pack im also unable to uninstall anything i put on, this it maybe a big in his pack, only noticed after i install wififofum today and its not on the list either.

udK's ROM (see sign)... Yeah, must be XBmod's Manila... can't seem to uninstall any other app I've installed either. Damn, but oh well =)
So you're using XBmod's Manila and are able to use all the functionality within the CommManger? I suppose the regkeys are within the CAB file? Otherwise, is the values in fix.reg those you're using?
Idea

Yeah its working fine on my rom and the cab now includes whats in fix.reg which basically sets the comm manager mode to the right them to use a background wallpaper.
If you try and re-install over the top, it will say you have to remove before it can reinstall, allow i to remove, then cancel the new installation. soft reset and your old comm manager skin is back.
if you can then give me an export of :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager
i can look into it and see what the problem is, potentially i can rebuild you your own cab if theres something particular with your rom.

That's exactly what happens to me with the ROM in sign. Will update ROM soon, so I can report back.
worked great for me. thanx again plazma, cant wait to see what you come up with next! still lovin the calculator!!
New Developments
I think your getting the green bars more than once is because your rom must use more than one colour for transparency on my dev phone only #000000 (true black) is used for transpency, so the comm manager is slightly off black to work around this, work fine on mine and for others aparently. So i can only assume the people having problems with their roms is due to the above.. not sure how to fix it but will look into it.
