Hi,
About a year ago, my MDA went crazy. When I restarted it, it just got stuck on the splash screen with IPL/SPL version numbers.
I tried hard reset and reset the phone to manufacturer's default, but I got "format is failed."
I then tried flashing it with Tmobile's upgraded 2.26 rom, but still stuck on the splash screen.
(I called T-Mobile. They thanked me for being with them for 6 years. A valued customer. Then they tell me that my warranty for the phone was over a month ago. They can't help me. Those bastards. Valued customer my ass. As soon as my contract is over with them, I'm taking off. I hate it when they constantly thank me for being loyal, but they won't replace my phone even though it's just one month after the warranty had expired.)
Any ideas/suggestions? Thx.
Bootloader Mode?
try getting into bootloader mode. If it does, all it not lost yet. You can try flashing the rom again.
Post back once you've done trying.

Turned on my 8125 today and it stays on the screen with the verison of the
rom(etc) showing. I did a soft reset ... same thing.......I did a hard reset and it said format fail...... can anyone tell me what is going on here. am i lost ......can someone tell me an alternate way to get to the bootloader so that I can re-flash the rom........ I can't even get the phone to go into windows.... please please help. or am I out of 400 bucks for this phone. .....
Get into bootloader by with the device off - press and hold camera button and press power on. Multicolored bootloader screen should appear. Connect via usb - as long as you have a small usb symbol bottom left of screen you can reflash phone. (does not need to be connected via activesync to do this)

Okay thank you it worked and I was able to flash the rom. The flashed completed but it still freezes at the start up screen it says the following:
IPL 2.25
SPL 2.25
GSM 02.25.11
OS 2.25.11.1
its stuck onthe Cingular logo screen. When I try to do a hard reset it give the error message
format has failed.....
Can this device be saved?
I gather the device has been upgraded to the leaked aku2 rom. You may have a corrupt rom.
I would try downgrading to the original stock rom ftp://[email protected]/Wizard/Roms/Cingular/Cingular_RUU_1.8.11.1.WWE.ship.exe

it wont do the rom flash says something about wrong nbk
Your device is still cid locked then with that rom version you have to goto http://www.imei-check.co.uk/ and get it cid unlocked - cost £20 though. Your rom is too new to use faria's method that only works on rom's 2.21 and below.
May be an idea to post on wizard upgrading forum as they may have more ideas before paying out your money.

Well still no reply from the seller so I called the credit card company and dispute the charge. i have copies of the guys ad... and copies of the rude emails he sent me. The credit card company told me just hold on to the defective phone and the emails and they will take care of it.. Apparantly the seller was working from a Post office box he was pay apal verified. I just hope no one else falls victim to this guy.

I use this phone for my business and was having problems with it, nothing major just some software issues so I was going to bring the phone back to factory standards and decided to download and install the ROM from HTC’s website and the install went to around 95% and then I got an error message saying “this nbf file cannot be used for your pda phone, please check your nbf file” and then the install said to quit. My phone/pda was frozen so I had to remove the battery to get it to turn off. When I turn it on, I get a Red, Green, Blue and White screen that says IPL 2.25.001 and SPL 2.25.0001 and RUU on the top right hand corner. I have tried a hard reset, soft reset, and removing the battery but it won’t get past this point. I cannot afford to be without this phone as I use it for my business and until it’s fixed I am out of commission. The phone was bought brand new in December of 2006. Any help I can get would be appreciated.
Your IPL and SPL tell me (2.xx.001) that you have a G4 phone. Make sure that you have a G4 version of the ROM and try the flash again. I hope this helps ^_^

It happened to me last night and for a moment (actually several hours) I though I had a dead phone, then I tried another ROM and even when it went all the way up to 100% progress the tricolor screen didn´t dissapeared, then I tried a 3rd ROM and this one worked, it went all the way and the phone finally booted. Check the Wizard G4 forum on this subject.

I got it fixed by using the Wizard love rom. O had actually read your posts after I had gotten it fixed, what a nightmare! I was ready to box it up and sell as is on ebay!!!

Stupid me...
I bricked my G3 while updating to faria's WM6, but stupid me I had IPL/SPL at 1.xx. Now after the stupid try, I semi-bricked my Wizard, but was still able to go into the bootloader screen. So I decided to reload Cingular 8125 2.25 on it tomorrow.
Well today is tomorrow, and right when I was about to load up the factory ROM, bootloader screen and all, it shuts off. Battery isn't dead, cause yesterday it had a full charge and it wasn't running all night (semi-bricked, mind you). And now it won't come on.
Oh wait... it just came back on...
Crap, nevermind, it shut itself off again.
What's going on? It can't be bricked if every hour it decided to give me a bootloader screen to tease me for ten seconds?
If I wanted to be teased, I'd call my ex-girlfriend...
flash the stock rom when it's on, leave it connect to the usb. try a hardware key hard reset to enter bootloader screen
Got it. The problem was getting it on really. But I figured it out and got it charged. Now I got custom firmware on it. Thanks
seems like i have the same problem. the bootloader screen appears for 5 seconds and then it's gone again.
how did you manage to charge it?
OK here is the story.. my friend sold me a wiza100 8125 from cingular.. he was using it for T-mobile so it must be unlocked.. he decided to install the cingular rom since it was locking up.. it says it loads 100 % but then it turns on but we cant get past the Tap align screen.. need help guys.. do we need a special ROM to make it work again? does it have to be modified to work with t-mobile? Where can i find the rom to make it work?

be more specific with what happens..... also, try a hard reset while you're at it.
You have a G4 phone. Try flashing the Wizard Love ROM (which will work on both a G3 or G4) and then go to the Wizard G4 subforum for more information on how to flash a different ROM for the phone.
Also, you need to ask your friend if he paid to have the phone unlocked. That's the only way to unlock a G4. It can't be done with Lokiwiz.
Ok here is my problem... I have alrady installed three different ROMs and they all do the same thing.. The load 100 percent and it says the phone is ready but i can get past the align screen. Where its says to tap the target firmly. I tap the 5 targets but then it starts all over again. its like in a loop cant get past that align screen.. ant tips?
Hey guys, need some help if possible.....
About 3-4 days ago, I got a notification on my g1 to install a new update, I accepted and the download process started and ended as usual.
When the phone rebooted at the end of everything, I see the original t-mobile design, then the android logo, and then a black screen... and thats it, my phone just remains black, no sign of life.
I cant power the device off, I have to pull the battery out, I tried soft and hard reset but nothing works...
Please someone, anyone, save my g1 !!!!
Is your phone stock? Rooted? ROM? SPL? More information would help...
If it's a stock US phone with the original SPL you could try flashing RC29 and letting it upgrade from there again.
