Hi everybody
Is there a way to quickly change T9/symbol recogn vocabulary on WM6? I often write emails/sms in different languages (italian/eng/french) and to change language hints on my HTC Touch Cruise is possible but takes 5 long steps (options>touchpad>options>language) every single time...
any help would be great

Hey guys & gals,
I have a problem, whenever i click on the small arrow beside the chosen SIP icon, it takes alot of time to display the menu to choose from.
I thought it was because of the Arabizer software. But i did a hard reset while removing the arabic software from the extended rom and just left the imate stuff and clear vue. Yet i still have the same problem.
Anyone would know why it takes soo much time? can any one direct me in the correct direction: check the processes, dlls...etc?
Thanx guys.
NOTE: i did search this and several other forums with no luck. So i am sorry if this has been asked before.
Which application are you talking about? SJphone?

Application? SJPhone?
I am not talking about an application. I am talking about the SIP (Software Input Panel) which is where you choose one of the following
Block recognizer
Keyboard
Letter recognizer
Phone Pad
Transcriber
It takes alot of time to display and i was wondering why.
I hope i cleared any misunderstandings .
It's strange that this is still causing a problem even after you removed the Arabic software. This is a known bug to I-mate which hasn't been resolved yet however they said it only occurs when using Arabic:
http://www.clubimate.com/t-DEVICE_KJAM_ISSUES.aspx
"When running Arabic, the SIP (Software Input Panel) icon is slow to respond after it has been tapped. It can take up to 20 seconds for the pop-up menu to appear providing the user with the option to select block/letter recognizer, phonepad etc."
Why don't you try using the WorldWide English ROM from I-mate (if u don't want arabic) and see if that works any better ?

Hi all, I have a 20 keys HTC Touch Dual. I'm trying to fix a problem that I find when I use XT9 writting in Spanish. When I click letter a, the 1st priority that Xt9 offers me is "s" when should be "a". Is there any way to edit this priorities and change them?
Thanks in advance.
I always configure the UI of my mobile phones with english. But I write sms/emails in French, German, English & Spanish. Android does not seem to offer the possibility to quickly change the input language of the keyboard. It looks like UI language both determines keyboard layout and input language, which is EXTREMELY inconvenient for someone using several languages on a daily basis.
Does it exist a workaround, an external app or a feature I oversaw to solve this major drawback? Keyboard layout and input language should be configurable both independently from UI language.
Thanks for the help

*bump*
I have the same question, for somebody that uses different languages on a daily basis it really is extremely inconvenient...
Any solution for this or would this be worth developing $$$
I have this problem as well.. I want to be able to switch between English and Dutch input.
My old sony ericsson's (W910, W580, W300) could do this by long pressing * or #, don't remember which key
I've got the same issue. So still nothing on this? I've been looking everywhere, haven't found a solution besides: switch language UI.
So Im not the only one? And I thought I was special. Oh well, Im having the same issue too and its a real pain in the arss.
Moving to General because:
OP ended the original post with a question.
Has nothing to do with the development of ROMs.
I had the same problem and found a keyboard replacement on the market: AnySoftKeyboard. That keyboard comes with different downloadable dictionaries and you can change layout and dictionary on the fly.
The layout is not always well done (e.g. delete key to small for the german layout) but works well enough for me.
Search for a modified HTC_IME which I found here on XDA, it suits this need perfectly. You can choose the subset of the supported languages you want to use, and cycle betweenthem with a gesture (I chose swipe up, but it's configurable).

Since transcriber is not included in leo roms, I am not able to use KUMA chinese handwriting recognition input. Are there any alternatives to use chinese handwriting input with a touch HD using a leo rom?
Thanks!!
EDIT/UPDATE:
I was able to use use sipchange to bring up the kuma chinese handwriting recognition block. But it is kinda annoying to use sipchange every time when I switch between normal US keyboard and chinese input. It would be ideal to have that transcriber option on the menu so that I can change between on the fly.
Hope this helps others on the same boat. Any way to integrate it into the keyboard option menu is greatly appreciated.
EDIT/UPDATE 2:
I installed the enabletranscriberwwe.cab and was able to use transcriber and block recognizer in the leo rom. But same problem exists that I can choose them in the SIP menu. I have to use sipchange to choose. Again, anyone knows how to integrate these into the keyboard menu (the little keyboard icon at the bottom when you type)? I tried to search but couldnt find anything related. But if there is a double post please let me know and point me to the right direction. Thanks!
Aright guys, I just found a better way to include the chinese handwriting option in the SIP without installing anything. This simply disable the Ezinput 2.1 display. Just install your chinese handwriting cab (KUMA in my case) and do the following. Hope this helps. Enjoy~!
Registry change:
HKLM>Software>HTC>ezsip>"EnableSipMenu change to "0"
Softreset
EDIT:
Btw, you get the block recognizer and letter recognizer back in the SIP option.
install finger keyboard , then you will have chinese and english keyborad
It is not about the chinese or english keyboard, it is the letter recognizer meaning to say that you write chinese or english using the stylus.
Dear all:
I have been able to convert my German X2 successfully into Dutch/Belgian language using the information contained in another thread.
However, I am now faced with Dutch/Belgian language, with a corresponding AZERTY keyboard layout.
The trouble is that the German hardware QWERZU keyboard is now also typing in AZERTY layout and the keys do not correspond.
Question: how can one change the hardware keyboard layout in such a way that it reverts back to the German QWERZU so that I can at least see what I type?
I have searched all over this forum and elsewhere on the net, but found no working solutions so far. The solutions that were offered, do not seem to work.
Has anybody managed in doing so succesfully? If so, I would greatly appreciate urgent feedback as this is really annoying right now. Thank you so much.

you should use the AE Keyboard Mapper to replace the hardware keyboard layout, for AE Keyboard Mapper intentionally a specially designed key mapping almost all external or built-in hardware keyboard or keypad is connected to a Windows Mobile device. You can use it for "localizing" keyboards (if there is no support from the OEM keyboard driver on your language) or just for the mapping of some keys (like the conversion from AZERTY to QUERTY, the addition function by disabling the Ctrl key or application key binding).
my advice, you just visit his WebSite to get more information and also download it ---> http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php
Thanks for the hint. Downloaded and tried it but somehow I cannot choose any other layout than Russian. Even if I type in "German" instead of English, nothing happens.
I also tried out hints pertaining to the X1 (changing the registry etc) but these do not work either as the relevant registry lines do not appear. I guess there must be a difference between X1 and X2 in this respect.
All very disappointing I should say.
