Personalised skins and graphic elements

With a lot of little modesty I start this 3D to share some of my drawings for WM5 and WM6:
- HTC PhonePad
The "skin" is based on Unofficial Touch PhonePad by @vua777 (many thanks for his support), and realized to have a HTC PhonePad in real Touch style.
Unfortunately PhonePad it has not been predisposed for external skin support, so you must uninstall any other version before install this one.
International vestion include T9 suppor for German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Nowegian, Swedish

Resco Explorer needed
Installation: Download and extrart skin file on PC, copy the extarcted skin forlder to "\Program Files\Resco\TodaySkins\" (in the PDA or memory depends of Resco Explorer your installation). The additional fonts, if present, must be copied to the PDA "Windows" folder, soft rerset needed for font recognition.
Enter in Resco Today property then select new skin form popdown menu.

PhonePad doesn't work on Swedish P3600

I'm not a programmer and I'm not sure to be able to help you, but wish to understand.
None version of PhonePad work on swedish rom? Have you try original one or the @vua777 version? (here you can find the HTC original... I think, and here the @vua777 version)
Let me know if one work on your PDA, then I can try to put my graphic elements on it

As told to @mats++, I'm not a programmer, so I'm not able to do this, but if you, or some else can, fell free to do this.
These are all tools you need to modify the program:
- "WinCE CAB Manager" to extract and rebuild cab (search in internet for trial version)
- "Resource Hacker" (and some programming skill) to edit .exe and .dll (search in in internet, it's freeware)
- "signcode" to resign modified .exe, .dll and .cab (search in forum)
If someone create the single language cab I'm happy to put it in first post

Which file? The PhonePad link download directly the cab and it work for me (tried now)

The original worked, anyone knows how to incorporate swedish in languages?

Reco Today has left the building!!!
I installed the skins onto my PDA and when i chose the new skin nothing happened. I then did a soft reset and Resco today has disappeared. Any idea how I can get it back. It's still available on the today items and is checked. Have removed the check mark and then added it again. No joy though.
EDIT
I have got it, had edit the registry to show default skin. Can't get either of these skins to work. Am I being stupid?

Strange problem, it is first time that I hear this behavior, what version of Resco you use? Original Resco skin work for you? (you can download here).
All skin (exept HHstyle) was been tested on WM5 and 6 and Resco Explorer 2007 and v5.42. HHstyle was been tested only with WM6 because HTC Home run only with WM6

No, but you need Resto Explrer, only HHstyle skin I've not had occasion to test on VM5, others 2 work sure fine

You must flash HardSPL first, thanks Olipro.
After unzipping the file you have downloaded, you must run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the instructions.
These ROMs are fast and stable with the NetCF & SQL Mobile 3.5, 32mb Pagepool, some registry tweaks to increase performance (Font size cache 32768, File system cache set 4000k, FileSystem filter cache 2000), disable the security warning when installing non-certified application and a cleaned up 3G ICON!! NO RADIO INCLUDED!!

Well done congratulations. I was working on it but you go faster. Only: Why you removed configuration and HTC Home?

I don´t use them.... but you can find the cabs easy enough for the latest versions
But I do plan a full version and a clean version without the cube.... maybe tomorrow or Monday!

I suppose that you are right and there are programs that you don´t use and why keep if you don´t want them. But typically use other to be included (I, for example, use the SPB PocketPlus and SPB Diary ) that replaced the former.
Anyway has done a great job and wait for your new versions (I will choose the full because I use the Cube a lot) Thanks

All Light versions have the Cube if you want to try it (I use it a lot as well!)

Just a quick question in the Full Version what programs do you want left in?

I think Microsoft Office is usefull, Adobe Reader, I like Opera but I understand is very heavy for ROM (maybe you can change with Mozilla, is free) and one registry tweak like PHM and, as possible, one best video-music player (TCPMP free as well). Sure is a full equip

I'm new in this forum although I've been working with the machine for a month. I'm really satisfied except for the BT. I'm having a lot of problems to connect the HTC with my integrated BT in the car. It connects but this connection is only available for a few minutes.
I've read that this problem is solved with the cooked ROM " RUU_Polaris_HTC_WWE_1.28.405.1_radio_sign_25.69.30 .05_1.58.25.14_Test.exe". Is this possible with the Spanish Version?
On the other hand, I downloaded the original ROM offered by "AximAxim", is it possible to come back to the original version after the new cooked ROM is flashed?
And finally, I would like to collaborate to personalize this ROM, how can I do it?

BT is much better with the HTC WWE 1.28.405.1 Test ROM... although I hadn´t thought about changing those files in the Spanish ROM it could be possible. I cooked a version of the WWE ROM and it´s a big improvement (see my signature)
As for flashing back to the "orginal ROM" then AximAxim has given you the RAW files from the original ROM but not a flashable image but it´s easy enough to create the .nbh so you shouldn´t have a problem returning back...

so I tried to make a nbh and I have some problems. Can you explain us , how do we have to do this nbh ? I read some post about this topic and I followed the instrucctions , and at the end it doesn't works

Office for sure and I´ll add the One Note just to complete the deal. As for extra browsers and video players it´s easy enough to install the cab so I´ll keep it simple. I´ll definately included Schaps Advanced Config as use it and it´s the best there is...

Known "bugs":

I have deleted some, added some.
I left out TomTom this time, but will add in final release, I also left out opera, but I might bring that back later on.
Remember: this is just a beta rom

used that fix with some roms but now i used the PHM Registry editor and make a change in the registry

hm, I added the hide sim in my rom, It worked for my kaiser and my herald, but its obviously diffrent in polaris..
tell me whats the reg edit, and I will add it in next release

I use the Kaiserfix too some times, sometimes it works sometimes not. Dont no why
Here is the reg edit: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]

But you should change the true type font of your big today clock.
It really doesn't go well at all with the other fonts your ROM uses.

DOWNLOAD EXTRA FROM SECOND POST

IMPORTANT READING, DO NOT SKIP:
After the rom is installed, you need to do some manual setup:
1. Install all your backupdata, contacts, opera, tomtom etc etc.
2. Install the cabs provided in the zip file you downloaded:
-s2u2
-Weatherpanel (install to Storage Card)
-s2p
3. Copy the GFX from the extracted zip file to your install dir of s2u2
-ex: \programfiler\s2u2
4. Copy the folder Manila from weatherpanel folder in the extracted zip to \storage card\programfiler\marsware\themes
5. Copy the folder Manila WP Icons from weatherpanel folder in the extracted zip to \storage card\programfiler\marsware\icons
Allright, if you did this correct, go to instillinger\I dag\Elementer and unhook weatherpanel as todaytheme. Then highlight weatherpanel, chose "alternativer" to access weatherpanel setup.
a) set Theme="Manila"
b) set Layout="Manila.wpl"
c) select "Update Time"
d) clear "Don't Display Arrows"
e) set Icon Set to "Manila WP Icons"
Weatherpanel should now be setup correct.
Now to ThrottleLauncher:
Open programs, go to Throttle folder and choose Throttleconfig.
In here you can setup how TL will look like, that is mostly up to you how you configure it, but here is some small "to do":
1. choose TFlo3d,
2. in "height" chose full
3. then press the config button.
-in weather tab, scroll down and choose weatherpanel as plugin, save
now your back in main setup of TL, press the "reload plugin" button
You will also need to configure your e-mail, path to your pictures and to your music.
I set the pictures folder as default with this path:
\storage card\DCIM\100MEDIA\
Music is set to use s2p (installed on device, not SD card) and it searches for music
in \storage card\music

Other than that - lovely, but without bluetooth totally useless for unfortunately.

sorry to say, but I cant come up with any quick fix for this right now
I must try to build a new rom with some diffrent BT packages to see what works with this build...Its weird, cause it has worked for me before with this build, so im digging into it

But I cant get gullums diamond keyboard to work properly. Only numbers are displayed. This worked perfectly in you last norwegian rom (Touch-IT Diamond v1 NOR CE OS 5.2.20226 build 20226.1.3.0 ). Is it possible to fix this?

[3-Apr-10] First WM ROM, Questions & Problems.

Hello guys. I'm making my first ROM... I don't have a clue what i'm doing well... I have a rough idea. They is just a few things here and there I need to do but need help. So I made this thread for you guys to help me when I get to a problem. I will take screenshots and information on what i'm doing,
Information:
* I'm using: Gullum EVK's Kitchen wm6.5 23016
* Program i'm using:
- new ervius visual bepe's kitchen version 1.7
- CAB_Converter

1. How do I change the start menu to the grid type? (solved)
2. What file do I edit to add information on this page? (see screenshot "screen02")
3. How do I organize my applications so they are in folders? Like I want the "google mobile app" in the "internet" folder. (solved)
4. When I first boot my device the first screen I see is a black screen with the words "smart mobility" across the middle of the screen, How do I edit that text? Because when I first flashed it the text before was "udk Diamond" or something on them lines. (see screen03, second row, second image) (solved)
5. Where is the image located to change the background image. i have changed the touchflo background but cannot find the actual background image, can anyone help? (see screen03, 1st row, second image) (solved)

If you want the ROM, and want to test it. I am willing to upload it.. but like I say... Its my first ROM so.. Don't complain that it's this and that.

4.this is the "Splash Screen" and later the "welcomehead 96 image"....use search...there is much information about this

Alex-V ROM has Manila 2.1 if you have a look, when you download his ROM they is a folder called "Manila 2d 1-3" If you open that folder you will find the .CAB file for Manila 2.1 with flip clocks..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=605070

it´s not manila 3d
it´s...
manila 1->old Manila
manila 2->new manila (from mega) without flipp clock
Manila 3->new manila (from mega) with flipp clock
the m2d 2.5 etc is for 3d and most are vga or other but not qvga

I don't know why you would want my ROM, It will probably have loads of bugs but if you wish to flash your device with my ROM you may do.
HERE is a earlier release of my ROM. This is my first ROM, The 1 in my screenshots is the same ROM with just some of the images changed and a few tweaks/changes here and there.
