I'm running udk's diamond and I have noticed that I can't copy and paste a phone number (like from an email) into the dialer. I swear I could do this before, but was just wondering if someone could verify this and tell me if there's a custom dialer skin i could just install instead of going with a totally different rom. Thanks.

Hello, there!
I just tried to cook a PPC2002 ROM with a modified dialer skin. Though the new files get stored in the ROM file (I dumped the contents of the file afterwards to verify it) I end up with the original Windows dialer skin. The modified files do not show up on my device.
WM2003 ROMs don't behave like that.
Anyone?
Hello,
could anyone try to find a file that is called 'aam.exe'? I think it's in windows directory. It's related to the dialer. Thanks to post the file here, by rapidshare or other...
Thanks in advance !
Nobody could help me?
in my windows folder the file doesn't exist... sorry
the file does not exist on mine.
i have the o2 touch dual
not in mine too, i've searched in TC for the file, not in the windows directory, neither in other dirs.
i'm using tom's rom.
Thanks to you two...
Mhhh, strange, In fact I use the Touch Dual Dialer cab made by Nadavi for my kaiser, and it seem that the file aam.exe is missing. I searched for a string named 'aam.exe' in each DLL, and I found it in Dpadmenu.dll and phcanhtc.dll
So my question !
Thanks a lot
I got same problem after installing Touch Dual dial CAB. A problem is even uninstalling won't remove DPADMENU.DLL. This DLL causes problem with missing (with call to aam.exe) last two menu items on my stock ROM dial pad rightkey menu. Removing DPADMENU.DLL brings everything back to normal with my dial pad.
Hello all,
I got a question related with dialer themes.
I’ve downloaded AVLev’s English cab file (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438412) and extracted it. Then I renamed all the files to JPG, as a hunch, and found out that they are of this type (or similar graphic which the PC can bear). In the XML file there’s a conversion between the name coded files in the cab and the actual graphic files in the windows directory of HTC Diamond.
If I’m not mistaken so far, can I do the following:
> Copy the original graphic files from my diamond to the names in the English cab, and by that create an installation for my original dialer?
> Then, modify the graphic files to any other color or shape (leaving the actual location of buttons in place) and install them as new dialer?
> If something goes wrong, I can always use the original dialer installation I’ve created to go back to the original dialer without having to do hard-reset?
Is that all there’s to it?
I’m asking it because my native language is too rare to participate in the themes celebrations.
Thanks in advance,
Avi
I find that the original phone dial pad is rather dull, so I modified it (see attached) and would like to share with other users. If you like the new dial pad do the followings for installation.
How to install?
A) Find the 5 files below in \windows directory and copy to a another directory (just in case) using Total Commander (or others)
a) Assets_Dialer_Normal.bmp
b) Assets_Dialer_pressed.bmp
c) Dialer_Bkgnd_Port.bmp
d) Dialer_back_key_press.bmp
e) Dialer_back_key_normal.bmp
1) Unzip the attached file -> gives you 5 files as above
2) Ensure that the 5 files is a system file (attributes system - checked)
3) Copy the 5 files above into your \windows directory
4) Soft rest
*** In case it does not work in your set (very unlikely), just copy the original files in step A) above to \windows directory.
this is a great mod - but, the bmp files are set in rom according to the file properties when viewed in total comander. So i cant rename or delete them nor can i overwrite them with your new files. I have jade 110 with hard spl rom flashed with HTC oem rom.
any ideas how to overcome this or am i doing something wrong
TIA

I am not sure why. I've copied the files to a few different sets (stock rom, though) and they work fine. The files are not in rom. It could be due to your rom.
however, if want to change back to the original keypad how ah?

As far as I understand it you have to copy back your saved original files.
By the way: I can not find these files on my Jade (with TotalCommander).
Owh..ic ic...thanks for clearing that up. Does anyone has those files? Just wanna keep incase.
I changed to a new skin, and the original one kinda looks better with the skin. But i think i accidentally replaced them. Can someone assist me please?

Just alittle note about the condition in my Touch3G, i tried installing a various Iphone dialpads...and the software can't be removed even though i deleted it in the registry, plus when i don't use the default windows dialpad..all i get is a white screen with blank [email protected]@ (freaking me out)
Hi,
this tweak would be useful in HTC dialer, if you mix net-code and numbers.
For now I have to type the numbers manually, though they are stored in my contacts.
There is a basic feature missing in HTC dialer.
What's wrong with HTC
They forgot a lot of things on that damn phone.
htc
we have to wait until cusom roms.
However, there are custom ROMs already. I don't know a custom ROM, which solves this issue.

I have this little application I made for my use. It can combine a number from contacts with predefined net-code from a list. The resulting number can be edited and copied to the clipboard. After that the dialer can retrieve the number from the clipboard.
The .cfg file contains the predefined net-codes one per line. The format is
<string to display in the selection list> ; <net-code> ; <embed switch>
If <embed switch> is 0 <net-code> is simple copied in the edit field. If <embed switch> is 1 <net-code> must contain a {0} placeholder that will be replaced with the number from contacts.
To install the application copy the .exe and the .cfg in a directory of your choise. It requires Compact Framework 2.
As usual use this application at your own risk! NO WARRANTY of any kind.
Thank you for that - works like a treat!
I`m sorry to up this thread again.. already searching with no luck..
Can I make this happend in SMS.. I mean INSERT NUMBER from MyContact while typing SMS.. ? (dont want to send VCard, just simple SMS contain number)
Thanks in advance..
