iphone aol radio on mogul?? - Mogul, XV6800 General

anybody know how to listen to aol radio like on the iphone app ?? that would be sweet

nope
but doesn't it piss you off that they're putting out all this stuff for the iphone, when our phones have always had the capabillities for that. I'd just settle for using gsplayer with saved shoutcast playlist on the memory card. Works great and no commercials (depending on what station you get).

Hi,
You can use tcpmp or any other program that can stream mp3 format (cbs fotmat)
To get the station url use:
http://guide.play.it/GuideWebServices/StationGuideService.asmx/GetStationInfoEx?stations={stationid}&nocache=9131633
{stationid}=id of the station you wanna hear.
In the response xml look for <StationStream> node and inside that node look for StreamURL, then play that url in tcpmp.
You can also get the song info using:
http://songid.play.it/NowPlayingWeb/SongIDService.asmx/GetUpcomingStationSongs?stationID={stationid}&nocache=3605534
You can grab the stations ids just viewing the source code from:
http://player.play.it/player/aolPlayer.html?v=new3.11.87&ur=1&us=1&id=841
This is a fragment of the js code that you should look:
case 'AOL Recommends':
subgenres = new Array('Awesome '80s','Classic Rock','Fresh 100','Lite Rock','Oldies Hits','Sinatra Style','Smooth Jazz','Super '70s','Top Country','Top Jams','Top Pop');
subgenreIds = new Array('757','781','2584','841','867','906','909','916','601','927','930');
subgenres is the station name.
subgenreIds is the station id.
E.G:
To get the url for 'Classic Rock':
http://guide.play.it/GuideWebServic...GetStationInfoEx?stations=781&nocache=9131633
Regards,
Hlov

Huh?
That doesnt work.

MobiTV and Sirius music for free, no cracking

I switched from a 700p to a HTC Mogul and miss only one thing now. There was this little known secret to get free MobiTV and Sirius music by going to these websites ...
Code:
http://qtv.mobitv.com/sprintTVlive.mcd
ALL Sprint TV Live from MobiTV (including cable channels like TLC, Discovery, etc ...)
Code:
http://ss.siriusradio.com/Main_Menu.mcd
SOME Sirius streams too.
On any Sprint Palm device, when you go to either site in Blazer, it will open Kinoma player and give you the channel lists. No cracking or hacking necessary, these are public streams and do not bill your account.
Is there a way to stream .mcd data into Windows Media or equivalent?
Hell, the other way is much more convenient
I have half of it working.
If you install styletap and kinoma into style tap, you can view the streams.. but you must open the sprintTVlive.mcd file and manually enter one of the RTSP streams into kinoma..
any ideas how to get blazer into styletap?

and that would be....
yeah.. whats that?
i think airjer is referring to cracking the applications.
hate to spoil the suspense..
Would have been nice if everyone would look around first.... .
Thanks for the link , but I did look around first and already saw that thread.
That method needs you to remove dll files and install scripts. This method, you do not modify MobiTV's software and potentially could use an off the shelf streaming player. Much more preferred IMHO.
Also, not confident cingular cab will work with all providers/phones. This method will work any phone w/ web connection.
Also, I believe Sprint TV live has more stations.
Also, this is Sirius not XM.

[REQ] Internet Radio Streamer

Hi anyone know of a good open source, free internet radio streamer? the microsoft one is so poor its unreal. I would like to have something a little better.
regards
Hi Aley,
I'm using MORT Player since Years. You only have to find out the steaming URL and edit the Mort Player Internet-Radio List. It's so easy and there are a lot more functions!
I never used WinAmp.
Chears,
Vitkor
Try KinomaFreeplay. Works very well.
http://kinoma.com/
-Lycox
I use the free GSPlayer, it handles all my MP3 and OGG streams.
Thanks guys for the great posts, is there a way to import these links/ favs to the players or must i manually go to the folder where i saved them to and copy them from the device to pc and visa versa
Here are some good websites for music:
1. http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pda/
This site is the best of the three and offers more streams than the other two combined so be sure to check this one out first. This site plays the streams in windows media player.
2. http://www.mobtuner.com/
3. http://www.htcradio.com/
These sites work well with GS Player and yes you can save the music streams locations right to your phone to load up quickly with GS Player.
the pandora client works nicely for me. I can post the cab here if you guys cant find it
I vote for GSPlayer. It faster, has less hangups and is easier to use to browse to my radio links folder.
all the above programs are good for streaming radio..... but i've just tried pocketlastfm which works like pandora but you can use it outside of the US. you put in a genre or artist and it continually plays tracks from similar artists/genres...... it's really good!

I´m trying to find the cab for Pandora.
I´ve found one but it seems that it´s not working fine on the Diamond. Some errors on the start screen visual basic lines... I hit ignore and it appears it connected just fine. I managed to get the keyboard out to log me into pandora, and I could see my radio stations, but when tryied to hear to one of them, it hang out on "connecting"...
Can you post your cab here? or can you pm me with the cab?
Thanks.
kick in the $30 and get Kinoma. Totally worth it!
Hi,
Wunder radio. Loads of stations from around the world. Small fee, around £10, perhaps just under.

My Local Radio station on Android?

Hi,
I'm trying to stream my local radio station to my G1. They have a listen live page which is here:
http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/show.asx?StreamID=58&web=true
It seems to stream a "asx" file which the G1 happily downloads but then wont play.
I've searched the market and google for an Asx player with no luck, any suggestions?

asx is a windows media stream. If you can't locate a mp3 stream (.pls or .m3u) then you're probably out of luck.
From your posted location, i'm guessing that you're referring to a British station. I can't help there, but for US stations, thestreamcenter has mp3 streams from many broadcasters.
On a side note, if what you listen to is talk/news radio, it would be better to listen to podcasts, as live streaming will kill your battery life.

open the asx file in notepad, the actual media stream is usually defined in the asx file.

Right. I should have probably been more specific. .asx files just usually contain urls to .wma streams along with some metadata.
If it's just one radio station you are trying to listen to, I think you can stream it from your home computer to your phone via Orb and a few other apps.
I think one of the other apps was iremote or something.
Androrb works on my AT&T N1 was able to set up a station thats ASX.
I tried from android 2.2 no luck, app just waits forever and hangs

Coding to Play streaming PLS (ShoutCast)

Hey folks, I'm trying to write an app to play a PLS stream from a ShoutCast server, any advice? I'm able to stream standard MP3s using the MediaPlayer class, but it doesn't seem to work with PLS files.
Hi,
a PLS file is a playlist file not an actual media(sound/video) file, you can open it with your favorite text editor. To be able to listen to a stream you need to be able to decode the media type(AAC,MP3,WMA,...) thats what codecs are for
Yeah, I know, I tried using the adress in the .pls but it wasn't playing/nor throwing an error. I was pretty sure it was a valid codec being used (it works fine with a static mp3 path), so I guess I'll have to check with the settings on the ShoutCast server.
Thanks for the reply.
I'm interested in that idea of being able to listen to streams on the go. I did a quick google search and found out that there already is a stream player for android out there, called AntPlayer.
I think it's available on the market, and if the source is open maybe you can take a look.
I'm going to look it up on the market and see if it plays di.fm streams
Droidlive?
Yeah, I found a few that can do it, but haven't found any open source options yet. I'll look into AntPlayer. I'm trying to create an app for our university's radio station.
Any updates? I'm looking to do the same.
Same problem here!

LOve ya dance music

Go to frenchkiss fm using internet explorer and click on the winamp symbol (its the icon which looks like a yellow lightening bolt, just before the iphone icon on the right of the page) now as long as you have coreplayer, you can listen to some bangin tuneage, been a massive fan for years. May work with other players you have on the Leo, but only have core will try other sites, will try to provide a core link dedicated to it if i can
Try shoutcast radio as well for more choice, and once clicked a radio station choose to use own media player. dont know what usage of your data service plan this wiil use up, so use wisely and will try to find out, could be minimal or excessive so be WARNED
do you mean frenchkissfm.com ? the frenchkiss.fm url doesn't work.
Yeah sorry ignore the . between frenchkissfm, and now found out kinoma freeplay gives you access to the shoutcast radio stations, as far as i can tell all of them, sweet
wunder radio
Just get this from market place. It's quality, and has loads of good house/trance stations. ibiza global radio is my personal favourite.
Cheers
Ian
