Querying an Oracle DB From WM6 - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hopefully this is in the correct forum... if not please accept my appologies.
I've tried searching for this but could not find anything. Has anyone come accross any apps that allows you to query an Oracle db from windows mobile? Sort of like a TOAD or SQLPlus tool that runs on WM6.

XDA II Interface with SQL Server CE as backend

can anyone here tell me or point me on the right direction on how to connect to a SQL Server CE database using an XDA II ? i want to create a database application that is working on the XDA II that uses SQL Server CE as its database. any help will be much appreciated. thnx in advance.
anyone here in the forum ...
that is actually a developer for the XDA ?
it's for both xda and xdaX
wallaby forums are only for xda and so forth
if you want to access a db using oleDB then which type of db as in access or mssql or mysql or.....
all comes down to the connection string
of cause the sql server will have to be avaible to the xda
as in you can access it using gprs or usb or bluetooth or wifi or....
Visual Studio.Net 2003 has support for developing against the .Net compact framework (I think you might need professional or above). This has plenty of information and samples for connecting to SQLCE.
You may be able to do it with the Embedded VB using a connect string but this is not something I have even looked at!
Hope this helps,
Denver
thnx for the reply
i am currently studying VB.Net and reading on some of the white papers regarding Mobile Development but i still have yet to find an article that explains/shows how to connect to a SQL Server CE database using VB.Net running on a PocketPC Phone (particularly the O2 XDA II). i probably need to do more research about this but if anyone can provide more insights regarding this, i would really appreciate it.

MSMQ with WM 2005

Has anybody on these forums got MSMQ setup on an XDA Mini S running Windows Mobile 2005?
I just can't get it to start the service despite trying every possible option given on Google Groups incl. manually starting the service in code.
If somebody has could they please explain how as I would be most grateful.
Thanks! :?:

Need information about WM5 programming (PTT)

Hi!
Do you have any information on programming a PTT (push-to-talk) application for Windows Mobile?
I can hardly find something about that topic. I need especially information about how to send data via GPRS.
It would be nice if you could help me.
Greetings and thanks,
Nico
(I want to use C++, C# or JAVA!!)

MS access for Windows Mobile

One of the most useful things I can do with my HD2 is to run access files .mdb containing Visual Basic scripts. I couldn't find a Mobile version for MS access.
Anybody knows if it's possible? It would be really grateful
The very first versions of Pocket Office for Windows CE had Pocket Access. It was removed for some reason in later versions of Pocket Office/Office Mobile. Maybe some other office packages still offer Access file support or you can somehow find Pocket Access as a cab from some old device.
Even with an old CAB, you will have trouble with the databases. PPC2003 (if not 2002) has Mobile Access, and at that time, the ActiveSync can convert the Access MDB database to the mobile CDB databases. Either you are creating the databases on HD2 itself and forget about the activesync, or you will also need to hope that the pre-V4 activesync can work on your Windows and the HD2.
Actually yeah I am having really hard time running mdb files on HD2. What a loss..
Is there any news about ms office access for windows mobile 6.5? Maybe there is a some kind of aplication or program who is able to read and edit access files. Did somebody knows anything about this?

Try kaione.com, they have also - slightly buggy - sync client
I use Data on the Run to good effect on my WM6 iPAQ 214. I haven't tried it on my HD2.

[Q] Database Server for WiMo 6.1?

Hello developers,
I'm developing an statistical application and need a way to read and save my results.
I thought of MySQL but I cannot find a server software. Does anyone know a good and performant logging possibilty? At best it supports tables or something like that and some basic maths. (e.g. MySQL functions COUNT, SUM etc).
Does anybody know a solution for my problem?
