Keep Tuned in for updates.
bad ass! what about xbox 360? I hope this works with treo 800w. This would be awesome, id donate quick!
Now that would be fantastic, that's one of the things that keeps me from getting WiFiRouter...
great idea - cant wait to try it.
Are there any teaser screen shots yet?

OMFG.....lol......i never thought id hear such great news, i just got a psp last and have been trying to find something like this.....everyone has said it was noy possible due to the way the psp connects to the internet....will you guys have a donation link available as well....cuz this would def b worth a couple of my dollars
good luck!!!!
Any Update Yet???
No explanation why "WIFI EXTENDER HAS BEEN PUT ON HOLD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE" not S**t sucks probably was never a working program
i know the wii and DS both do not support ad-hoc networking, and will not connect to an ad-hoc setup (i spent hours trying everything i could think of to get it to work, and nothing). that'd be epic if you guys solved that.
good luck...cant wait!
Cant wait
hopefully all is well and they get this app released as scheduled tonite......im so anxious to see how this works
Best News iv Heard all WeeK
WooHoo Iv Been Looking for a application like this i Cant WaiT als0
Oh my gawd~~!, i can not wait for this, as i finally got my new PSP, (Old one i gave to my sister). This well be an amazing addition to a lot of what Ive been frustratingly always finding myself wanting. Thanks a mega bunch!, and good luck.
But i must ask.. the technical aspect of this "WifiRouter" you guys are making. If the PS3 and PSP cant connect to an ad-hoc network, how are u rejiggering an app to make our phones broadcast a Infrastructure SSID? or is it just a modded Ad-Hoc SSID? Really i dont have any idea, tis why i ask

MAYB ITS GONNA BE LIKE THAT XLINK KAI PROGRAM.
But When you run RoadDog on the PSP With WM WifiRouter Active it does detect and shows signal strenth and adds it to your network connect but psp without roaddog does not disconnect
where do i test?
.....maybe tomoro...lol....
to the guy asking about xbox 360 support...360 already works wiw wmwifirouter
im certainly interested in the outcome of this... i currently use a tmobile web and walk ICSed thru a laptop as my main internet connection... every bar the ps3 works
since i have webnwalk max for both my mobile contract and the usb dongle, this could be the solution to my ps3 online woes

wow umm no? most of what u said made almost no sense.
Yes road dog may be able to see it, but that doesn't mean we can connect to it. so that was irrelevant.
as for the comparison, if it well be something like Xlink kai, your incredibly wrong. were not tunneling any special packets. We are tunneling an internet connection.. but that's not the point.
Thanks for even attempting to find a fix for this program. When i first found out about it, i almost jumped out of my seat only to be dissapointed when my ipod touch wouldn't connect to it. Atleast now there is some hope.

Do keep in mind, an unlimited data plan has its restrictions such as:
“To provide the best network experience for all of our customers we may temporarily reduce data throughput for a small fraction of customers who use a disproportionate amount of bandwidth. Your data session, plan, or service may be suspended, terminated, or restricted for significant roaming or if you use your service in a way that interferes with our network or ability to provide quality service to other users.”

I dont think the PS3 supports ADHoc connection types, therefor they dont show up on the list.
That's the only type of connection you can set the WiFi router up as on the HD2, sorry.

No probs, however if your on 3, then why not pick up one of their PayG MiFi routers, think they are about 50 quid now and use your 3 Sim in it.
http://threestore.three.co.uk/payg/dealsummary.aspx?offercode=DSLPP499
what about the PSP? ad-hoc multiplayer is used on it so would it be possible to use thehd2 to play online anywhere?

Good idea Let me try this out Thank god I own a psp too
Damn...PSP is a noob -_- It didn't work LOL! But my Touch Pro 2 and Blackstone discovered it...so it's not entirely useless. Btw I found a solution! I connect the phone to my laptop, either through the cable or the Wifi app, and thus the laptop has internet. Then, I connect a LAN TCP wire connecting my laptop and PS3. Then I share the internet connection between the PS3 and the laptop. Modern Warfare 2 is quite playable online, with 3 bars of connectivity! Ps. Enabling the Draft N registry hack helped the speed from 2 bars to 3 (out of 4)
Anybody knows if it is possible to connect a PSP or a PS3 with the Nexus one using My WIFI Tether. I guess the most important one would be the PSP
My PSP doesn't seems to see the nexus wifi connection like the laptop does.
Thanks!
When you have wifi tether setup on the N1, the wireless radio is set for ad-hoc connection, no infrastructure. Change the Wifi settings on your psp and ps3 to connect through ad-hoc. But speed won't be the greatest, but it works.

No, I have no reason to. It should work in theory.
Seems like the adhoc on the PSP is for connection only to the PS3 and others PSP's.
I searched online but cant seem to find anyone who is using the Nexus to connect to psp

Which is incorrect. I've connected my PSP to my PC fine with Xlink Kai.
But it the PSP does not connect to the Nexus! It can't see the access point and even if I put it manually it cannot connect.
I've noticed with the new CM 5.0.5.3 the wireless and wired tether say they are not supported due to the kernal but still brodcast a signal that my laptop and psp and ps3 cannot find..
Even after reflashing to older versions it says this. I'd love to play my psp at work online

I'm still waiting my 11 days to get the new CM on my nexus (see sig) but I can't remember if you could set the phones IP address and manually configure the psp to connect to it?
in theory it should work if I can get my ps3 to see it.
I have been trying to get my zune to see it but it doesnt. Cant tether to my psp either. Tethers great to my iPod touch though.

Something funny!
I tether my wife's iPhone with the Nexus and the download speed was faster than the at&t itself.
So I've recently been trying to wirelessly tether my g2 to my xbox360 to play live but I constantly get an error back saying my "NAT type is strict".
I can play games anyways that way but it is very slow and laggy and annoying. From what I read up about that error, I need to enable a few ports. Found here: http://www.xboxliveaddicts.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=24450&st=0 and also a few other sources....so question is, is there any way possible to do this on the g2 in place of a router as said in the directions?
Please help, not being able to play live seamlessly is terrible.
I have no idea but I do know that trying to play live through your phone is a terrible idea. The latency on these networks is not what you want when playing online or are the the speeds consistent enough. Trust me when I say this. You are going to pony up and get a real broadband connection for that. If not the lag is going to be extremely unbearable for the most part. The hspa+ network isn't built for it yet. Now true 4g will but that down the road quite a bit.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2
I agree with the last poster. Latency makes it completely not worth it. I don't know about opening the ports, but I know I used to be able to to use internet connection sharing on a laptop tethered to my windows mobile phone years ago to connect, but it was too slow to play anything. But if you're dead set on trying it, that would probably be your best bet. Tether the phone to a laptop via usb or wifi, then share the connection via ethernet.
I wish it was workable. I'm in the Navy and our computer network blocks many streaming sites so I use my phone and a laptop to watch netflix on slow duty nights. Would be great to be able to play Halo at work that way, but don't see it happening for a very long time.

Actually, anyone who has their data throttled would be their own reason.
With any type of internet connection, there will always be heavy users...

i second that. i love flash. stupid g1 could never handle it.
I have a wireless router. its a Zyxel P-661HW-D1. My laptop can connect to it...my PSP can connect to it...my girlfriends IPOD Touch 4 connects to it....but my Ideos X5 will not!!..after days of endless searching the internet it seems that it might be an incompatibility issue. But no one knows for sure. Therefore i decided to try and turn my Laptop into an Access Point to see if my Ideos X5 would connect to that instead. And i can`t figure out how to do that either.....some say android phones cannot work with ad-hoc...but i dont know what that means.
Basically what i wanna know is...is there any way i can get my x5 to connect via zyxel router or laptop?
Or do i need to buy another router?...ive got none others avaliable to do a compatibility test =x

Yea thanks for the google search...but believe me ive sifted through every tutorial that there possibly is...as well as all the youtube tutorials. It seems easy enough, but to get a smartphone to connect to your laptop AP seems to be another story. But if anyone has successfully managed to get a smartphone to run off a laptop AP , id love to hear what steps you took.
Though as we will see..i dont think anyone will be able to say that they have. Hence proof of the problematic situation i find myself in ^^
Thanks anyway ^^

i don't remember which of the guides i had followed but the previous summer i created a wifi-hotspot with a netbook (with 3g) and at least 3-5 devices where connected simultaneously (other laptops , smartphones) and one of them was mine nokia 5800xm....
so yeah they work and that they are smartphones i think that it doesn't matter...
if it didn't work it might need an extra adjustment that it missed you...
keep trying!

Android will not show Ad-Hoc networks. See Here:

Kernel needs to be patched to allow Ad-Hoc connections.

Yes you can. Easily. Google "Connectify"
Connectify only works for windows 7 =x ....ive only got XP =o ....oh well ill have to stick to single player games for now ^^. Thanks.
Try Virtual Router Manager but I think that what you want just works in windows 7 because it needs a service that exists only on win7/win2008.
For about 60usd you should be able to get a tp-link 1043 which is one of the best routers to buy if you do not care for gigabit-wan and for 5Ghz (I suppose you do not care).
I know, you still need to have the money for that, I am just providing an alternative solution for your problem.
