Registry tweak - keep trying to send SMS? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 ROM Development

Hi I saw similar post in two other threads but nobody answered.
Problem with WM6 when you are in bad reception area, and send an SMS the phone does not keep trying to send until it gets reception - it tries for a while then puts a message of not been sent in the inbox.
Is there a registry setting that can be modified?
Cheers,
Alistair.

SMS delivery report

Can any1 tell me please, how can i turn-on the sms-delivery-reports on my MDA2? I am already 1 year looking for that and my opinion now is that it can't do that even in all materials is it described as working feature. Is some1 able to help me please? Many many thanx in advance. Tomas.
do a search
somebody gave a reg key setting to make it default so you dont have to do it for each sms you send
On a per-message basis, you could always try making the subject of the message:
*0#
It works for the O2 network and I think is some kind of standard for SMS messages.

Unsent Messages Going To Drafts?!

Phone: MDA
Provider: T-Moble
OS: 2.21
Has anyone else noticed that with the T-Mobile MDA, unsent messages (due to lack of signal) go to DRAFTS (which must be manually sent later) instead of being held in OUTBOX for when I have signal?
I actually upgraded my ROM thinking that would resolve the issue but it does not. Perhaps there is a registry tweak I need.
Any help/ideas would be most appreciated.
yeah, i have to agree its bloody stupid. what idiot thought that would be a good idea ffs.
a reg hack would be great.
Phone: MDA
OS: 2.21
Provider: T-Mobile
I am curious now how many other people have this problem, particularly Wizard users. If this is something specific to T-Mobile I might try another provider's rom to eliminate the problem.
Is this sms or outlook msgs (or both). I know that sms goes to drafts (not fixed in any WM version I know) but outlook email should go to outbox. I'm using the cingular wizard.[/quote]
Its SMS messages. So this is a function of Windows Mobile? Gawd what a stupid feature!
i must agree i wish they would go to outbox i hate having to go back to drafts and resend half the time i forget about them
It is a stupid idea, but surely something that could be fixed by a kindly app ?
I don't know about anyone else, but I've never had a phone that automatically sends when there is signal. It always saves to drafts and I have to send it later.
mine sends auto if there is signal.. but if its over 6txt msg long it sends to drafts cuz there is a timeout on it.. if we can figure out how to change the time-out or attempts made maybe we can come up with some sort of hack that will make it keep tryin until it goes thru!
My nokia 3650 always used to try to resend any unsent messages at a specific interval. I think you could even input how many times to try to re send.
i have it too, and the same thing was true when i was on wm2003se
it would be so much bettre if it auto sent once a signal picked up

Any bog-standard SonyEricsson or Nokia will do this. It's such as simple thing you'd assume MS would get it right, on what is after all version 5 of their phone OS.

I had a SE T610 and a S700i and both of them would just say "Sending Failed" and save the message in drafts, which do not auto-send.

Multiple SMS Messages

Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with their phone sending multiple copies of sms messages. For some reason when I send a message it seems to send it twice... I'm on the Optus prepaid network in Australia and have the latest Aus ROM (1.12.00)...
Cheers,
James
PS. This is a great forum, keep up the good work!
i do experience that. i use sun cellular here in the Philippines. If i reply to a message and immediately exit the inbox window before the message is sent, the reply message gets stuck in the outbox folder for a while that's why it is sent a lot of times.

I hit this problem in the past. The problem is that you have close the sms program before the message is even sent out. So, one way is to set your shortcut / close button not to close the sms, but minimize it. In my case, I'm using SPB pocket plus. So the sms program, tmail.exe is part of my exception list. Hope tt helps.
Awesome, I hope that solves it. Thanks for your help guys!

James

Auto re-send failed sms messages?

Hi there,
I've done a search and can't find anything relevant to this query.
But I wonder if there's a piece of software that will automatically keep trying to send sms messages if the send initially fails.
I quite liked this feature on old nokias I've had where if I had no signal when I sent an sms it would just keep trying to send it every 5 mins until it went.
It's quite irritating on the THD where I have to keep trying from the outbox.
Thanks for any info
Justin

Automatically resend failed SMS when in signal coverage?

I've noticed something that my ancient Nokia phone would do, but that WinMo is missing.
If you tried to send an SMS but didn't have signal, the message would go into your outbox. Then when you had signal again the phone would send the message automatically without intervention.
But on WinMo, the message fails and ends up in drafts.
Does anyone know a way of having the message sent automatically when coverage comes back?
I'm interested too...
Me too. I asked this same question in the "Questions and answers" forum here, as I didn't think it would be device specific.
Does anyone knows how to leave sms in outbox? It's stupid that sms are left in drafts...
That would solved my problems with errors when sending (sometimes)...

Can it be done with somekind of reg tweaking?
