Hey guys. I have the Sprint Mogul official Windows Mobile 6.1 for Sprint. Since I have this install whenever I set the alert type for SMS to Display text on screen and play the SMS notification sound after about a few mins to a couple of hours it goes back to default which is no notification nothing. Same thing happens for reminders. What do you guys recommend I do to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance
If you are running Opera 9 Beta 1, it is a known bug. When you close opera 9 it revers notifications to nothing...hope that helps
dylabsylvester thanks man..
I have the same issue with my verizon XV-6800, although I have had the issue occur even before I installed opera browser. I have yet to find the culprit or a fix.
VERIZON XV-6800
ROM: DCD 3.2.5
ROM DATE: 7/29/08
RADIO: 3.42.50
My Sprint Mogul doesn't have this problem, but my friend has the same phone and the same kitchen loaded, except that she doesn't have MSVC, and she has this problem. I don't see why not having MSVC would cause this, but maybe it's a clue for someone.

Are you using the Opera 9.5 Beta? If so that is the problem. And what a annoying problem it is!!! You need to downgrade your Opera 9.5 version to one of the QVGA Diamond builds on XDA. I am using build 1938 with no problems.
The Opera 9.5 beta was re-released on July 29 to correct the notification problem.
ive experienced this problem a couple times and i jus do a soft reset and its fine.. but i will admit it does get kinda annoying .
I need some help, every single time I receive a phone call while my phone is locked, the first half of the ring is just a black screen and vibrating, regardless if the sound is on or not, the second half of the ring shows the picture for a second and during that second it starts playing the default ringtone, even though I have my contacts programmed with their own ringtone. Also, when I try to answer the call I am never successful and I miss the call every time. However, when the phone is not locked I receive my phone calls exactly as I should. The ringer that is programmed to each contact is played, it shows the picture right away. Can anyone help me? Please.

HELP
I have the same problem. The phone rings, and I cant pick up the call. End up with lots of missed calls
I have so far reset to factory defaults a couple of times, and the only app I have installed is Linda File Manager from the Market.
My G1 has a RC9 stock from TMo and I am using it with a Vodafone sim..
Can someone please help?
thanks
N
Hmmmm
I don't know what causes it...I think that we all are experiencing it. It hasn't happened all that much since I installed Lock 2.0 and had it shut off the system lock.
well that may be true, however ive factory reset several times since installing lock 2.0 and i still have this problem
YA that happens to me sometimes to
So with this bug is your phone rooted or not. The reason I ask is because mine is and it happens to me all the time I've reflashed to rc29 and done the process over again and I was planing on just going to stock rc33 but if its an issuse with both I don't want to
Happens to me too ... I'm rooted RC9.
Was happening to me until I did a wipe. I, too, am rooted.
Same thing here, rooted RC33 JF1.42. The first thing I suspected was any/all of the alternative home apps. I haven't seen tested any of them enough, nor the default Home app, so I can't lay blame yet. I suppose it could be the rooted firmware, but I'm more suspicious of these alternate home apps first.
I have the stock rc33
I had problems where it wouldn't recognize indivial ringtones for contacts until I removed weatherbug.
:S
I cant believe this is happening.
I will most likely sell this phone then, as I dont have any use for a phone that I cant pick up phone calls with!
In the meantime my phone bill is sky rocketing as I have to call everyone back.
I simply cant justify spending so much for a phone that.. well.. doesnt work.
I thought Android was finally what I wanted in a phone OS, but obviously is NOT. Will have to go back to reliable WinMo :S
Yea my phone is havin that same problem and it's rooted too... but my friend has one thats not rooted and hers does the same thing so i dont think it has anythin to do with the phone bein modded...
not rooted

mine is not rooted, and it does that even fresh out of factory reset.
was thinking of getting the G2 but after this I m afraid I will stick it to the android.
very disappointing.
It has nothing to do with weatherbug, I've just tested it without weatherbug installed, same result, guess well just have to wait for the next update in a month or so, til then... don't lock ur phone
I have this problem TOO!!! I'm very very disappointed. I didn't seem to have this problem in the beginning but when I installed the jf1.42 rc 33 it started hapenning. Hmm I don't know. Maybe it's better to go back to stock rom and see if it works better.
Hi guys,
I know there was a bug in <1.40 ROMs which HTC made a hotfix for, but that hotfix can be used only with <1.40 ROM. I am currently running TESS 2.2 (based 1.75) and still experiencing the same annoying bug like with the official ROM - no sound for the first message after soft-reset! I don't get it (why the hell just the first one?) and have not been successful with finding a solution. But I am quite sure it is not a bug of TESS ROM, thus i'd like to ask you if you ever experienced something similar?
At first I thought G-Profile was the problem, but after uninstalling the bug remains. Sadly I am not aware of any other app which could be causing this bug.
When the first message after booting the system arrives, sometimes LED starts to flash, sometimes it does not, but no sound whatsoever.
PS: Yes, I've set suspend time with Advanced Config to higher than default. Any advice muchly appreciated.
Hi
I have found power management issues on the TESS ROM and when I flagged this up I was flamed for daring to suggest the ROM was the problem. The issue is various tweaks get applied by cooks who think they know better than HTC without them really knowing why such an option came disabled or enabled or set to a particular value originally.
The next best thing is to use the WWE Australian ROM that contains the latest base ROM which is probably where it came from in latest version of the TESS ROM. This has been bug free for me.
Regards
Phil
So after all it might be TESS bug, right? Which version of TESS were you using when experienced those power management issues?
Hi
It was an earlier version, I don't remember which one.
Why not try the Australian one and see if the bug is present for you, you'll know for sure then.
Regards
Phil
Just because I don't feel like installing all the apps and stuff again

Hi there,
I am using the EnergyROM "Genesis" (23016) and am having the similar issue as you. All the Emails, Callings, Events are working very well, except the SMS notification --- no sound , no vibration, only the LED indication when the Text messages are received.
I edit the Registry by walking up the phone when receiving the SMS but just can have the phone walks up and the LED indication but still no sound or vibration.
Did you install the Official HTC HotFix on your phone and what happens after that ???
No i did not as it is to be used only with <1.40 roms
I have an HTC Ozone that I flashed from WM6.1 to WM6.5 using the official ROM that was released.
Before I flashed to WM6.5, I had put PHM RegEdit on my Ozone, and did the DISABLE SMS SENT MESSAGE mod.
After I flashed to 6.5, the Message Sent Notification popped up after I sent a text, so I went back in with PHM, and low and behold, the mod is still the same. I tried changing it back to 0 (Default), and instead of just keeping it on, it started popping up 2 Message Sent Notifications. So, I tried setting it to 2, and nothing, just the regular Notification. And now it's set at 1, which is supposed to turn it off, but it keeps popping up.
Did I eff up something in the registry when I flashed to 6.5? Is there some way to fix this so I can turn off the stupid notification? Or will this hack not work with 6.5?

I've done it and it works. It was created by ookba, the genius who gave us the custom 6.5 ROM.
Sorry to say you guys, but neither SKTools nor the Hack worked.
I'm still getting the Message Sent Notification.
HEY COOLPOETE!
Anyway, thanks for trying guys. I think it has something to do with the OFFICIAL 6.5 UPDATE, because that's what I used.
Somebody on HowardForums said it's some Eff-Up in the Official ROM. And it's driving me nuts I can't shut it off.
I just got my HTC Ozone from vzw and it already comes with the 6.5 rom preinstalled. I tried using the dummy " htcmessage.exe" and overwritten successfully and after that I was unable receive SMS and others didn't receive mine so I had to do a hard reset and wipe the device clean. idk if it actually works or not but it did not work for me mine so I had to do a hard reset and wipe the device clean. idk if it actually works or not but it did not work for me any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have a US T-Mobile_Leo HD2 O.S version 5.2.32441 (32441.5.0.61) Manila version 2.5.20121412.1 ROM version 2.10.531.1 (82076) ROM Date 02/23/10 Radio version 2.08.50.08_2 Protocol version 15.34.50.07U.
The New Problem? is "Visual Voicemail" shutdown "Low Memory" after and only when I do a soft start?, yesterday the HD2 got an update in which the phone was unusable during. It automatically restarted itself after about 10 minutes, and every time I restart it gives me the "Visual Voicemail" shutdown "Low Memory". I have searched this site but there is little to nothing on "Visual Voicemail"? so maybe someone here might have some ideas?
Thanks for any help on this

Wait, so you were prompted for a SYSTEM UPDATE? Or the application had an available update...? And as for the "Low Memory" warning... is it a SYSTEM warning, or a message being generated from the Visual Voicemail application?
Re: System Update
The update happened at 05:10am Pacific time, I heard a tone from the phone and looked at the screen in which it said "T-Mobile update xxx-xxx" (it was to fast could not write down numbers?), it took about 10 minutes and then the phone restarted, I also noticed all my settings were lost?, all my email, bluetooth and passwords and user names for Twitter, Facebook were gone?, I called T-Moble to ask them and they said they were unaware of update? and asked them what I could use for backup of my setting's?, and they had nothing except "MS MyPhone" of which does not backup settings? any recommendation's for backup of settings for software other than ActiveSync? I don't want to use ActiveSync until I get these issues addressed?
Any tips for backup of settings to memory card would be appreciated.
By the way I was "Not" prompted for update? it just did it?
As far as "Visual Voicemail" it only shows "Low Memory" when you restart the HD2 from a cold start? (remove battery) it says to shut other programs down, but I have nothing running because it just was restarted? so I am left with a predicament? I checked the Startup folder and "Visual Voicemail" is in the list of startup programs?
Thanks
Re: System Update correction
I said the update was yesterday I was incorrect. The update was today at 05:10am Pacific time, sorry my bad.
What software does the people who have the USA version of the HD2 have? are they all the same or are they different?
also how do you add on xda-developers my profile the following?
Currently using: T-Mobile USA HD2.
Backup device: Nokia xpress 5310
In the past: Palm i705, Palm Tungsten W, HP6503, Tmobile Shadow 1
In the future:
Wow, this sounds really weird. My stock TMOUS HD2 has OS Version 5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87), everything else is the same. You might want to try and exchange it if you don't find a fix.
Re: TMOUS HD2 OS Version ? in Las Vegas
I know of someone else who also has an HD2 here in Las Vegas and he has the same version OS as I do but different from yours?
This is strange? is it different for each state? seems weird? or is it an update that is not yet delivered to all devices yet?

I have the same OS version as you too, my ROM date is 2/22/10. Very strange. Question, does Tmobile charge more for Visual Voicemail? When I click it, it tells me that my carrier may charge a fee for usage? I really want to try it out.
Tmous version date difference?
Tmous version date difference? mine is ROM Date 02/23/10 yours is ROM date is 2/22/10, how can 1 day difference make problems? is this maybe a fluke?
It might make no difference at all? but it would be nice to know? I called T-Mobile tech support and they can't tell me anything? they referred me to HTC and gave me there number but they are closed, I will have to wait until Monday?
Visual Voicemail no charge from Tmobile
I asked Tmobile if Visual Voicemail has a charge to it and they said no. I don't know if relates to the plan your on? I forgot to ask them that? next time I talk to them I will ask, I have a service troubleshoot ticket and I am to call them by next Tuesday for status on that?
no charge for visual voicemail
There is no charge for visual voicemail from tmobile, but you have to have the feature added to your account. Just ask the rep to add it to your account.
My ROM date is also 2/22/10.
Do you have a lot of voicemails by any chance? I'm wondering if the data is stored on the phone and filling your memory up. Have you tried to remove and/or re-install the visual voicemail app? Hard reset?

I asked T-Mobile about updates and they were unaware of any update?, I even talked to tech support and they told me they get most of their information for updates from
the T-Mobile "forums"?, after that remark it took me an hour to get my mouth to close again after that gaping remark! I think most of the people at Tmobile have limited information on the HD2, there are a few who are up on the Technology of the HTC HD2? , I talked to a guy last week who was sharp and I wish I had gotten his name and phone extension?, but of course every time you call you get someone new?,
I remember the first day I called to order the HD2 I had to hang up two times until I got someone to help me? I have learned that if you don't get them to understand you in the first 2 minutes, hang up and get someone new?
Update seems to Fix Visual Voicemail shutdown "Low Memory" US Tmobile
Visual Voicemail shutdown "Low Memory" US Tmobile is no longer happening?
