I have had to do hard reset of my Cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard) phone many times when I installed some software that screwed up my previous working settings. Is there a way to backup the phone so that I can install from the backup after hard reset without having to reinstall all the stuff? Something similar to Norton Ghost?
im am using CRC 13.0 rom and when i back up and install the backup to a new install (hard reset) it will lag and cause me to reset it and it just hangs at the windows mobile screen and then i would have to start the process all over with a hard reset.. what causes this?
If the reason you did a hard reset at the start was because of this issue, then it may be something that you backed up causing the problem. Backing up the registry and the os is a good idea when its working fine, BUT, if there is some problem with the phone, backing up may just save the problem for the next install. Its best in these circumstances to just back up contacts and sms's and do a clean install...
My experiences taught me this.....
Cheers...
Hi,
I have a problem with my Touch HD. When I launch the "Messaging" application, nothing happens. On TF3D, if I attempt to access the Mail or Messages tabs, TF3D stops and restarts.
I made a complete backup and a hard reset, and it solved the issue. Then I restored my backup, and the issue was here again. I would like to solve this issue without having to do a hard reset and having to reinstall all my applications.
Anyone has an idea ?
After updating the new HOTFIX (LEO08007.exe). all was well, until for some other reason I had to do a Hard Reset. After restoring my RAM via SPB Backup, I noticed that the Phone Icon was not operational (the HSDPA icon was operational). Clicking on the Call key did not bring up the dialler. I did retry with another hard reset and restore, with the same results.
Luckily, I had a backup from a date before the Hotfix update. I hard reseted and restored with that backup and all is well again.
Did aanyone encounter that issue?
Not really. the hotfix finally solved the SMS issue for me. It completely rewrites the sms engine apparently. I am not having any particular issues after the install.
Hi everybody,
yesterday I updated my I5800 to the latest Froyo firmware I5800XXJPF.
Flashing worked fine with Odin, I had no problems until now.
Calling out was no problem, so I assumed that everything is fine.
But today, I wanted to write some SMS, but it's not working any more. I can enter the phone number and the text, but when I press "send", nothing happens. I only get a black screen and the keyboard. When I want to read the messages I got or wrote, the program crashes: "Sorry, the application Messages (Process com.android.mms) was stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" (translated from german).
After that, I tried to call myself. Result is that my I5800 can't recieve calls any more as well. Either when calling the 3G symbol disappears and the voicemail answers the call, or my galaxy rings for about 1 or 2 seconds and then the voicemail answers as well.
In both cases, I don't get any information about missed calls =/
Did anyone have the same problems? Or any solution to this?
I use Launcher Pro, if that's important.
Thanks for any help,
Philipp
Did you do a hard factory reset from the recovery menu? The one you get when you reboot the phone with home+vol up+vol down+power button.
I had some trouble with SMS updating from I5800XXJPF after flashing with only a factory reset from the settings menu. It's better to do a hard reset and clear cache from the factory menu before flashing.
Another mistake I made before was to try restore messages for SMS with Titanium backup. It's best not to restore anything with Titanium after flashing. An export/import of contacts from a .vcf file seems ok.
Well, can't really help you with this but.. Are you sure flight mode is not on? (stupid I know but..)
Also, try going to Mobile connection settings and then choosing different network operator.
Did you try re-flashing the rom?
Thanks for the responses.
Flight Mode is off, I just checked it. But I indeed did save and backup my sms and apps with titanium backup.
I will try to re-flash it now without titanium backup afterwards. I hope it helps, my galaxy feels much "smoothier" with froyo =)
I re-flashed my phone with the I5800XXJPF firmware, no problems until now =)
everything works fine. i did a factory reset before flashing and did not backup my files with titanium backup.
so problem solved =)
