Hey,
is there a offical HTC-update for "Windows Mobile 6.1"?
Yes there is. I just downloaded it and installed it last night.
You will need to backup all your information because it wiped my device (contacts programs and everything) except for my storage card.
You can get the official update from the HTC website. Just go to the Touch for whatever carrier you use and go to the support page for that phone. You will find links there to download.
I can't find it

Is this an update for the CDMA version, or the GSM version?
CDMA Vogue
http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?act=faq&p_id=76&cat=66
that's where I got mine. Like it said, that's the one for Sprint so dunno if your carrier has one out yet.
Vogue, Not Elf...
Hey boys... you might want to put this update in the Vogue Section... some people might use this to update their Elves and end up bricking their device.
Other than that, am glad WM6.1 is out for Vogue already. Elf should be up next shortly...
hmm I see. I thought this was for the Touch since under "Elf" it says "also known as Touch."
I have what is called a Touch and the update worked for me so yippie?

Are you sure that they will make an update for the Elf GSM shortly?
I am not sure about that.
I asked them about that a few week ago and they said they won't make an update soon.

Yipee!!! There.
Kidding aside, pal, Both the ELF and VOGUE are HTC Touch devices. The Elf is the GSM version (meaning you have to use a SIM Card on it) and the Vogue is the CDMA version. If you don't use a SIM card, then that's the CDMA version. You have a Vogue Touch.
If it worked for you and you use a SIM card, let me know, 'cause I'm gonna update my device too!
Thanks.

I read somewhere in these forums where this guy posted HTC Customer Service's reply to his email. He was asking if they had plans of releasing a WM6.1 update, and HTC replied that there will be one very soon...
I really hope they pull through this time.
After reading this thread I checked out HTC's website and they show an Operating System Update for the HTC Touch (GSM) from August 4th.
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=88&cat=2&dl_id=25
At the bottom you are required to enter your S/N. I get an error (upgrade not suitable for your device) after I enter the S/N for my Rogers Elfin. Is this an update to 6.1?

I think so, Even I am getting same error when I enter serial no of my phone. I think this update has been release only for specific versions of HTC Touch GSM phones. It might be for elfin, which is also called as HTC touch..

Link removed..
Link for downloading the Rom update has been removed from HTC website.. I just checked it...
Umm...the link is still the same since the last time i checked it. However, the "invalid serial number" issue continues...
i try my on my elfin and same problem===>Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
I have a Touch GSM and I'm getting the same error message
Ok, it was already confirmed a couple of weeks ago that it's not going to work, so don't waste your time trying.
HTC mixed up their CDMA Touch with the GSM Touch... so the download link was on the wrong page (the GSM Touch one).

Anyway, thanks for the link. My serial number worked and I have flashed the ROM. As has already been noted it looks the same as the one udk released recently.

I have an OEM T-mobile TP2. I just bought it 2 days ago. When I tried to flash it I get " Invalid vender ID" I dont know that the program is looking for but I do need it. None of my GPS software can maintain a good sat lock. help help help!!!
No one know? Anyone with T-mobile TP2 with out of the box ROM ever install this:

The file is from HTC:

it's just a radio rom upgrade.
You should instal HardSPL and then you'll be able to flash all rhodium roms (this gps fix as well) without "invalid id vendor" error

So then this means that if we apply this update and later wish to change the radio it would overwrite this patch? Or does it apply separately to something else. The reason im asking this is because if some radios work better with some carriers or in certain locations then it would seem weird (to me) to have 1 catch all Radio that is meant to apply to all Touch Pro 2's. So I feel as if im missing something important.
Hello All,
Does anybody know when HTC is planning to release the WM6.5 update for phones sold in India??? The UK site is not allowing me to download the update if I give my phone's serial key...

Why this stepmotherly treatment to some countries?

DAMN! i'm sorry to hear about your scare...i kinda feel responsible, having suggested the idea!
may I ask why you are avoiding installing a cooked or even OFFICIAL (as in UK version) ROM? are you worried about guarantee? or the risk of damaging your phone? Because if so, then i am gladly willing to walk any1 through the steps you need to take to get it running.
Guide me pls..
drag-on.. i'll b happy if u could guide me thro the steps , i was kinda scared to install a cooked rom on my HTC diamond2 till now coz while trying to do the same with my HTC touch i bricked my mobile a year back..
and i couldnt find a proper step by guide for doin this.. in every thread regarding the same somebody or the other is getting into problems..
so pls illustrate a proper step by step guide on the procedures of installin a ROM on a factory HTC touch diamond2..
I'll be glad to. what i would then rather do is send you a private message with the steps, so that we don't clutter the forums and have snide comments from senior members about how "easy" it all is. (they ARE right, but i know the first time is scary)
i'm going partying now, but i'll be glad to send you (and any1 else who asks for a private message) step by step instructions tomorrow.
what you can do in the mean time, is have a look at which ROM you think you might want (i'll add my suggestions anyways) here:

thanks dude..
thanks for the help dude.. i'll go thro that documents now..

Hello. I've bought HTC Magic recently. It is version 32a, as it has 288 MB of RAM.
Currently the build version is 2.16.*
So I wanted to download and upgrade to latest rom version 2.20.401.2 from HTC.
After putting my S/N HT97******** it shows me Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device..
Is here anyone who could help me please?
If you **** around too much on the htc home pages you do not get to download any update. I do not know why it is so but so it was with me,
So turn off your browser to try again. or get a new IP address
Or **** in the slow updates and root your phone it takes five minutes. Then your phone will be double as fast .???????????
OK, I've tried changing the browser, deleting browser's cache, reconnecting to the other wifi (so other IP), but all without success.. Thanks anyway Any other suggestions please?
Try to morrow.
Kk, but I don't think it's the reason because it didn't work already when I visited HTC website for the very first time and as I wrote, I tried it with different IPs, browsers etc.. but anyway, I'll give it a try

I got a text message from TMobile today saying there is new software and new feature improvements for my HD2. I clicked on the website they gave me and here is what the pop up window says,:
" A software upgrade is available for HTC HD2 customers at www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade. Please be aware that after you upgrade the phone It is normal for the device to run slowly and the battery to drain at a higher rate for a short period of time. This is caused by applications that might be performing an initial sync, such as, Outlook or a personal e-mail account, or the device updating applications like weather and location. It may take up to four hours to complete all syncing.Important: Please read the steps on How do I perform a device software upgrade before moving forward. The software update is only designed to update the software version from 2.10.531.1 and 2.13.531.1 to 3.14.531.1.
The upgrade process is easy!
Download the new software to your PC. You will be instructed to enter the 15-digit IMEI number for your device to access the download.
Ensure ActiveSync 4.5 for computers using Windows XP or earlier or use Windows Mobile Device Center for computers using Vista and Windows 7 is installed on your PC. If you have not installed ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center, you can install it from your Getting Started CD or download it from the Microsoft website.
Connect your HTC HD2 MR to your computer using the USB Sync Cable that came with the phone.
Establish a connection. You will know this is complete when the ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center icon in your PC taskbar is lit green and the status is "Connected".
Ensure that your T-Mobile HTC HD2 MR has a battery charge that is greater than 50% (two bars).
Remove your MicroSD card from the device if you have one inserted. Do not reinsert the SD card until after the software installation process is complete and the phone is ready to use.
Run the software update program you downloaded to your PC and follow the on-screen commands.
Below is the list of available downloads. Please select the download of your choice.
T-Mobile HD2 MR Software Updates
T-Mobile HD2 MR Software (Version 3.14.531.1)"
I'm not sure if the chefs plan on upgrading our roms or what but it's nice to know the HD2 got some love with WP7 on the extremely near horizon.

Download: T-Mobile HD2 MR Software (Version 3.14.531.1 )
Date Updated: 9/23/10
Size: 209 MB
Still think its new?
Yeah, I did it but I don't know what's wrong: when I looked for the Software information, and checked the OS version, it's now like this: OS version: 5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94). Is it Windows Mobile current version? Did ROM upgrade downgrade Windows version?
I know it might seem stupid, but I am really concerned...
Thanks in advance for help!
No, 21913 is one of the latest we've seen of COM2 line. If you had cooked one before then you had some bigger number probably, due to different branch...
What about Abroad Tmob devices ??

The file is too large to post here. Check the development Forums for links to the stock ROMs. But it is really easiest and safest to go to HTC, enter your IMEI, and get the right ROM from them.
