Hello all,
I have a flash which fits onto the bottom of alot of Nokia phones. see link
http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4222112
Great bit of kit if the phone doesnt have a flash.
I am wondering if there is anything like it out there or if it is possable to send a signal to the Mini USB conector that it is taking a photo and i can rig something up.
Is it possable ?????
Is it??
Thanks yall.
It could be possible, but look at the connectors. I don't believe so.
If you are looking for a flash with a mini usb connector (like our phones), there was one for the tmobile sidekick I color.
Someone would have to figure it out and write some software (I guess) to make it work.
wow.. i used to have that flash way back in the day for my nokia 7610!!
as for customizing a flash for a kaiser.. i dont know, but one of my friends has an iphone and what he does is keeps one of those mini LED flash lights (about the size of your pinky) and he uses that when he wants to take pictures, works out pretty well.

Yes Indeed ,here are instructions :-
1.get one of those flash's from those old kodak cameras from the 1980s , check on ebay if you have any difficulty from kodak.com
2. attach two wiires from the flash , connect these to the htc touch hd mobo.
3. be sure to check my next post , for further details

flash for hd
I have some magnesium powder that you could light at the right moment. be careful though as it can be dangerous indoors.
or you could wait for a stormy night and make use of lightening. be careful though as this can also be dangerous.
you could also sellotape an old 35mm camera to your HD and make sure you press the buttons at the same time
Does anyone know how to add a small diesel engine to the hd and this could be converted to supply 5v... perfect no need to worry when away from the mains!
ironically, when I had my sony ericcson w800, it had a real good flash for a phone (2 super bright led's), there actually was an add-on for an external flash that would plug in to the bottom (stock SE charging/syncing port).
this would look ugly, but work:

at least it't not permanently stuck to your phone.
Hi guys,
Sorry to bother you all with this, I am just anxious that there is something wrong with my X1.
The manual says all LEDs should flash at the same time. It also says that the charging status is all flashing slow multicoloured.
When charging, my X1 flashes the LED closest to the charger by itself (and red) and then flashes the other three seperately (multi-colored).
I have only had it 10 days so can easily get it replaced if needs be.
Could you tell me what yours does and how significant you think the problem could be to the life of the phone?
It is the only illumination that appears incorrect. All others work fine. The problem is when the phone is both on and off.
It's an X1i
Thanks!
crabby
LEDs flash separately when charging. First flash the one closest to the mini-usb port, then the other three alla together. Just notice that in my X1i they flash multi-colored, including the one near the mini-usb port.
I guess my paranoia makes it appear a different colour. But it's fine is it?
I have seen on another forum that someone had X1s where they all flashed together, but that after a few weeks started to flash sperately.
Does anyone know WHY the flash like this? I would much prefer the LEDs to flash together. I find the out of sync flash quite distracting considering all the others do it together.

Normal
It's normal for it to flash the one near the port seperate, it indicates charging, and also shows you where the port is if it's dark. I personally find it quite intuitive and useful. The one near the port flashes red, then the other 3 flash together, multicoloured.
my x1a flashes just like yours. the one near the usb charging port would flash, then the other three seem to flash at the same time.
Yippee!!!
I'm so glad it's normal. I just love this phone! Using it 'as a phone' I've got 4 days use out of it. But I know that should I need to get directions, write a letter, create some accounts... basically ANYTHING, the power is there in my pocket
Thanks,
crabby
{SOLVED}
mine has flashed same as all of yours. I think that multicolor changing interval is to short when flashing
Hi all,
I'm getting an HTC Magic (I don't have it yet), but it comes with the 3 mp camera, wich I really don't like. The thing is, the camera is easy to replace according to the service manual, and the kernel source brings the possibility to choose between the 3.1 and the 5 mp camera, so I'm trying to find one on the internet to replace the original when it comes. Does anybody know of some place where I could find spare parts for it? (some service center or chinese manufacturer who has spares)
The silly question is also related to the camera, but differently. The question is, does the magic has the typical leds on the front indicating network /bluetooth/wifi/ gps status? (those lights that light orange when charging, flash on green when there's network coverage and stuff). I'd really want to get it some kind of led flash for the camera...
Regards!
www.cnn.cn is one ive used for some parts of htc diamond, i have had no trouble with this website.
it doesnt have any parts for the magic though, but that could be just a matter of time.
but is it really possible to replace the cameramodules? thats really interesting.
Thanks! I'll keep an eye on the following weeks, maybe I'm lucky and they get stock soon
BTW, the camera module can be detached from the assembly by disconnecting a simple connector. I assume the 5mp camera is of the exact type to make it easier to assembly both variants at htc. Then it's a matter of entering or a boot parameter to the kernel, or simply hack the kernel so it always use the 5mp one .
About the flash, I think I might use the trackball led, if it's easy to access and I get room for the wires in there (everything is pretty tight and I don't want to screw too much with the phone just yet -it's less than a week old after all-)
Regards!
I took apart one my hw6515a smartphones and gave the faceplate to my sister's boyfriend who paints at a body shop. He painted it blue to match my truck although i believe the paint he used was for a 2000 Acura. Regardless it looks awesome, however that is all it does. It boots up and you can tell that because of the sound and you can blindly make calls. However as the title of this thread reads the screen is all white from the moment you turn it on. It was working before I disassembled it. I have done computer repair for a living for the past 10 years and I thought I was careful with the motherboard and the other PCB. Anyone with experience with this please reply, thanks! Not sure if I somehow damaged the screen or I am hoping there is some little nuance I overlooked during reassembly. It was kind of a pain in the butt trying to connect the screens ZIF connector because it and the speaker wires are short and so they have to be reinserted while this case is almost all the way closed.
A little about me + if you want to by the HP smart phones: I have known of xda-developers.com for years but haven’t had the time to participate in the community up until recently. Two weeks ago I decided to try out wm65 and it it awesome! However flashlite 3.1 was working with all browsers on my original Fuze firmware and now it is not, anyway I am ranting, I need to go to the proper post for that...
I have a (3) hw6515a's. Actually I have 4 but two of them are broke and together can make 1 full phone. If someone wants to make an offer to buy them with all the goodies that originally came with them feel free! I love HTC and currently use a Fuze and a Tilt (aka Raphael) both running WM6.5 . I just sold my 8525's and have had earlier HTC's as well. OK enough confessing of my love for HTC. I have taken a picture of the blue HP using my Fuze's camera in case anyone is interested in making an offer and it is attached below. The HP is a nice lightweight smartphone with GPS built in however the 240 x 240 px screen can prevent you from using some apps the way you want although i downloaded a fix off that allows you to run apps designed for 320 x 240 px. OK I am gone, sorry for the blathering; my mind has not been working properly the last few days.
Sounds like a connection to the screen is not right.
there is only 1 connection for the monitor
That connection is a small zif connector. I have tried reconnecting it multiple times.

Hello xda developers users, today i found out that my dad broke his phone. At first i knew that local shops would'nt be able to help since its not something that has been bought by one. The bigger problem is that, the usb debugging wasnt enabled so i cannot pull out all the pictures. I looked up everywhere for a solution and there was no program that supports this type of phone. I have also tried plugging it into the pc but it showed that:" please insert driver g". tried everything i could so if someone could please find me something to take out the important pictures of the phone i would really appriciate it. ( he doesnt have any type of backup since he barely knows how to use a phone)
Have a nice day!
unfortunately when there is no display you can't do much... you can't enter recovery or put your phone in MTP mode to copy files from internal memory. that's why PC can't install driver. By default with USB is only for charging.
I got Redmi 5 Plus using Tapatalk
If display is working but no touch, you can connect a USB mouse with a OTG cable.
No picture at all, try to get another S3 and swap the mainboard or buy a new display, there is new stock at some sellers at AliExpress for reasonable price.
There are YouTube videos about changing the display. You can buy a whole new display (with tools) from Aliexpress. I bought such a set for about USD 55 and replaced a broken display. It succeeded otherwise well, but the front camera does not work any more - maybe the tiny connector is open... The operation takes some time and patience, watch the video before byuing a new display!
