Yeah my buddy has an Iphone thats why I was wondering because it picks up a local station here
It would be awesome to have aol radio on WM6. I think aol radio is better then regular, I would love it.
is it possible to port something like this over to WM6.1? OR, is there anything else out there that would be a good substitute for it?

hi, check this
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2537085
Any updates on this App??
Get Wunderradio http://www.wunderradio.com/ or do what I did.
In the Kimona forum, a user discovered a method to play AOL Radio in Kimona, making use of the Station ID. This method also works for other mobile players. This is what he did:
1) To get the station ID first go to http://music.aol.com/radioguide/bb
2) If you look in the left column under "Music Genres", you will see the different genres.
3) Select the genre you are interested in.
4) Then in the middle column you will see the various streams.
5) If you hover your mouse over the stream link, you will see a javascript statement in your browsers lower status bar that will look like:
javascript:launchAOLPlayer(XXX);
The XXX is your Station ID
Now plug the Station ID in the following url:
http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/CBS_R20_XXXP_F128.pls
The above url is the 128kbps pls stream. Substitute 32 for 128 and you will get the 32kbps stream. You can also substitute asx for pls for an asx stream.
An added bonus to this method is that the same url can be used for Yahoo Radio stations. Just find the Station ID for the station you want.
So now I can listen to Aol and Yahoo radio stations on my windows mobile phone with any player I choose.
what happened it used to work now it doesnt

does anybody tryed it ? i mean using TCPMP it's possible ?and if it's possible where i can find the url's ?
I think you need to go into more details...
Are you talking about streaming your service providers content, or what exactly?
If it's your service providers conent, you need to find out, what protocol it is being sent tru..
If it's RTSP, well good luck, and let me know, once you've worked it out, cuz i'm here in the dark at the moment.
I don't know of any sites that are allowed to stream the games. At least in the US, not that it matters the US team stinks!

It's $8, but i can't fricken RTSP protocol to work.
BBC.co.uk is streaming the games (it will check you IP address to make sure you are in the UK though). I didn't try it on my universal, but I suppose it could work.

I'm not sure how the games are being broadcast since I do not follow the world cup(sorry), but if they are being broadcast on tv and you have a tv capture card give www.orb.com a try. It works great and will let you stream live tv from your computer to you device. It's also free.....

Hello again guys.
I'm desperate to listen to the cricket that will be on FiveLive Extra (I know I'm a sad git!)
Can anyone advise me how I can do this, knowing the problems with Media player streaming radio stations.
Is anyone listening successfully to BBC radio?
Thanks all,
Ratzz
Buy a £2 radio!
Have you tried using Mortplayer/GSPlayer etc? What format is it in?
V
i use orb (orb.com). it's great although it needs your pc running somewhere (home or office).
can play all bbc radio stations, view photos and vids from your pc and also play music files from your pc.
....and it's free

Hi
Go to http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/pda/wmp.asp on your PDA, choose "B", then BBC Five Live 32m (UK) or BBC Five Live Sports Extra 32m (UK).
This will open either station in Windows Media Player.
Works for me via WiFi. The only problem is occaisionally the BBC's contract does not allow internet broadcasts of its output.
You can also use this service on your PC.
Thanks guys (I like the £2 radio idea!)
I think the BBC transmit in .ram -- I bet they haven't got the contact for online broadcast ....

£2 radio, far too sensible, bit like keeping a dog and barking yourself when the Hermes is capable of doing the job. Question is, is the BBC. SHCs radiofeeds I'm sure is the right track although I couldn't get it to work this afternoon.
If you get a solution or radiofeeds works for you, I for one would be very interested to hear how you managed it.
Suggestion to vijay555. I think "buy a £2 radio" should be a pop up text file cab downloadable from your website as a solution to streaming audio. This could be available as a multi solution hack including "buy a notebook" fix for mobile word "invest in an abacus" as a calculator download and "get a pigeon" as an instant messenger solution!!!! In fact what am I doing with several hundred pounds worth of gadget when we've got all these cheap alternatives?
Mike
Nice one Mike ... I'll keep you posted!
don't want to spoil the idea but a £2 radio won't get you 5live extra - it's digital and is where all of the ball-by-ball commentary is. Yep, ALL of it.
Add this bookmark to your tytn's browser:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/live/live_sportsextra.asx
it plays through windows media but it sounds spot-on to me at all times, as long as there's a half decent signal.

Thanks SHC -- The streaming works fine, although I had to give it at least 30 - 45 seconds to start.
There's also plenty to choose from ...
As for the five live extra streaming the cricket, I've checked, and I'm pretty sure that it's in the schedule to be transmitted online (UK only).
Thanks for your help (and humour) guys...

I believe all those solutions are more interested in using the PDA as a webcam. What I am interested in is using the PDA to monitor my room where my webcam is (coz thats where the baby sleeps). Is there anyway this can be done?
maybe a search like this

I had done that earlier, let me find out how did i do it?
Best i got...
So far the best , but not very elegant at all, solution I have is to use logmein. Not only does this go through the internet, which is something I am trying to avoid, but it also gives entire control of the pc, whereas I just want a quick stream over wifi of what the webcam is seeing.
Surely there must be someway to stream directly over the network?
Tried http://www.google.com.au/search?cli...+webcam+over+network&meta=&btnG=Google+Search or http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=...m+webcam+over+local+network&btnG=Search&meta=
try digi-watcher. works for me.

logitech used to have that feature to publish to a webpage and would update the picture at a user specified interval. don't know if they still do. i'm surprised orb didn't work. i would have tried logmin as well or a remote desktop client directly if your just at home with wifi. other thought is any webcam streamer that has it's own internet server. years ago i bought a security program cheap (under £10)
called supervision cam. it does time lapse capture or motion change capture and then would upload pics to a website or email to an address. it wouldn't be a stream as such but if you told it to not change the file name by adding a number and only use the same name every time then you could get a 1 to 3 frames per second update to a web page. then just compose the page to auto resfresh every few seconds. just don't do it from a mobile gprs connection unless your data plan has a huge inclusive
I cant believe it - all you need to do, is to put your keywords into google

Try Windows Media Encoder 9.0, it's free. Can be unstable, but it should be enough for your use...

He asked for a FREE solution and you suggest Slingbox??? That the MOST expensive solution!!
Diamond TV works without registration with all presets what it has, you can´t only add custom channels

Yes, but a one time fee... and it's worth every f...g cent. I was always looking to get TV on my baby, and now I got it, with HSPDA or Wifi an absolutely great image as well, with Edge reasonable image quality..... Swisscom TV has much poorerer image quality
Diamond Tv is a bit of a rip off. Nothing amazing really. Its just a load of bookmarks.
You can get all the channels for free here http://www.streams4pda.com/
Enjoy!
Try this, it's free...for the time being.
Works a little bit like sling.... stream your tv tuner on your pc trough your pda.

Hello
I would like to stream music from my Win 7 pc to my Blackstone connected thru wifi to the same network.
The thing is i cant get my computer to 'find' my phone.
In the help section they talk about something called WPS.
I searched a bit and couldnt find anything really helpful.
if anyone can help
Thanks in advanced.
Jay
I dont know about streaming (im assuming you are trying to use WMP), however, you could accomplish this by using the Network Plugin:
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-network-folder-plugin-v1-0.html
Then play them direct from the network, it works well for me.
streaming means connecting to a service and getting the music as it plays
lots of people confuse it with just having access to a shared dir on the computer
or even syncing in some cases
it helps searching if one is 100% clear on what the various terms really mean
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming_media
if you already knew this just ignore my post
Hello
Thanks you both for your responses.
Rudgear:Thats exactly what i am trying to do.
Windows 7 WMP has a built in streaming capability on what they call the home network.
i would like to know how to connect my Phone to the home network in order to use these feature.
I connect my phone using wifi on the same connection as the computer.

LOL, sorry i should have clarified, i know what streaming means, i was just meaning that I dont know about doing it with WMP
Also, is this actually possible with WMP from Windows 7, after all streaming has only recently been introduced at WIndows 7, does WMP in WM 6.1 have the client end of the streaming implemented?
An alternative is to use the Network plugin, effectively its streaming anyway because the data is only retrieved as its required, the whole file ISNT copied first, I use Core Player with the Network plugin to play movies on my Blackstone over the network all the time, so unless there is a specific reason for wanting to use WMP you can do it this way.

I tried this, but after it finds my PC and I set up the name and password, it shows it on the list, but nothing happens when I tap on it (or on the + sign). Am I doing something wrong? I've been looking for something like this.
