Large Exchange Mailbox - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

Hello, I am configuring an X7510 to sync with a rather large mailbox on Exchange 2003 SP2. Is there any way of using the 16GB flash drive for storing the emails or is it just attachments I can store there?
Sorry if this is a double post....
Adrian.

Open the mail settings in messaging app and set STORAGE Tab anywere you like (This will set the attachments path) . The mail has to be stored in the main memory, to avoid problems

Exchange ActiveSync Not Synching Folders

I have been using Exchange Activesync on my 8525 since I first received it. Until now, I have been fine with just checking emails in my inbox. But due to some new responsibilities at work I am receiving entirely too many emails to keep in the inbox.
I have set up filters in Outlook so that they will go to their specified folder. The devices shows the folders listed in messaging, however no emails go into them (nor do they come to the inbox).
I am using Exchange Server 2003 SP2. Is there anything I can do for this?
Thanks
I know what you mean, I have the same issue... You do know you can search the Exchange Server from your phone though, right? The results that are returned, I believe, include all folders inside your mailbox. Helps if your looking for a specific email, etc...
Cheers.
Hello,
In Pocket Outlook choose Menu->Tools->Manage Folders
And choose folders you want to synchronize.
Just as simple as that

Mail2web calendar and desktop oulook calendar
After signing up with mail2web live version my active sync has two accounts. The outlook account I familiar with and the exchange server account via mail2web.com.
Is it possilbe to sync my desktop calendar under activesync with the exchange server calendar? Any pointing to help, threads or pdf manuals would be greatly appreciated.
Ciao
Darrell
If you activated both calendars to sync-they'll be combinded.
activate calendars?
That refreshing, I haven't come across those key words. How do I activate both calendars? Not finding anything, easily, in help or microsoft forums

Hi I Have Problem With E-Mail

Hi I Use My HD2 To See My Email But There Is A Problem That every Time I Try To DownLoad The Attachment Video Or File In My Email The System Said The File Is Too Big And I Cant DownLoad It So Can Anyone help Me Please .
Thanks In Advance And I'm Sorry For My English
by default the message and attachments are saved to phone memory. could your memory be full? try ...
mail tab - inbox - menu - tools options storage and select use storage card for attachments
I Do This Step And I Also Had The Same Problem ??????
Do you use hotmail account (or any other from windows live)? I have the same issue with my hotmail account however when using another mail account via pop3 access then I have no problem.
With hotmail I am not able to make the phone to download complete message with its attachement. Every mail is just a header and when I want the complete message with the attachment I have to click on the attachment icon and it starts to download. But this is max up to a few MB (I am not sure but I think that I was not able to download attachment bigger than 3 or 4 MB.
On the opposite when using my second mail account accessible via pop3 I can set up the phone to download the whole message instead of just header and the size of attachment doesnt matter.
Yes Thats Right I Use HotMail , But Do You Have Another Program That Let Me DownLoad More Then That
No, I am using just the built-in outlook - so this is not dependent on a software. I think it is a question of the way how do you communicate with mail server. As I said when I am using pop3 access I have no problem. However for Hotmail the default access is not via pop3.
How Can I Use OutLook can AnyOne Tech Me Please
Hotmail, POP3, IMAP4, et cetera are all garbage ways to access your e-mail.
Paying for hosted Exchange is the best way in my opinion...
...or, even better, do what I do and host your own Exchange at home!

How to save Pictures from gmail in hd2

Is there a way to save pictures in gmail emails to phone/card memory?I mean the pictures coming along with text message and not the attached ones...

Download your mail using IMAP, not the (useless) java GMail app.
Set attachments to SD Card
Download entire message and attachments
Set IMAP to 7 days if lots of email

Alternative email apps - Exchange Sync

Hi I am looking into alternate email apps. I use exchange server 2007 and would like to ability to search all mail for my account on the server not just those downloaded to the handset).
I believe Active sync on WinMob does this already.
Also is there an app or a way to change the existing app to store all mail on the SD Card so I can sync my entire mailbox (sent items, sub folders etc.) and not just the inbox?
I can recommend you Touchdown for Exchange from Nitrodesk. In my opinion there isn't a better soft for using Exchange on Android.

Have you got this running on the Desire ? Can't find it on the market, only the license.
Activesync or Outlook 200-
Hi all
I'm trying this app as Iwanted to be able to access folders. Whats the best to use Activesync or exchange 2003 ?
Many thanks
Yes, it works on Desire. Paying for licence is also needed, but worth of it.
Search for "Nitrodesk" on Market and you will surely find it.

Also take a look at RoadSync from Datawiz. The best looking app, with the best integration.
If you're using Exchange, what exactly is the problem with the default Mail app? It syncs to Exchange, and syncs contacts, mail, and calendar.

Apparently it depending on your MS Exchange version.
We have 2003 and the default doesn't let you search the GAL. Also no ability to remotely wipe the device. I also had strange issues with sending mail either failing or being sent multiple times.
I think Nitrodesk is butt ugly.
Try MoxierMail
Looks like the default mail app so fits the theme of the phone, the widget is VERY pretty.
And unlike the default mail app like someone asked, you can sync tasks!

I have a 2007 exchange server and use Push. When using the default mail app, mail disappears from the Desire, it's still on the server and shows up in Outlook. I've lost 100's of mails at a time. It happens when a sync is in progress and you move from one data connection to another i.e. GPRS to 3G or to Wi-Fi or back again.
I've been using touchdown for about 10 days, and it's working much better - no missing mail but read and deleted mails aren't always updated, but that's better than them disappearing.
Thanks for theheads up on Moxier.. not heard of that one.
Q. which of these, TouchDown, Moxie, RoadSync handles Subfolders the best. ie i want to be notified if any email goes to any folder and not just the INBOX. ideally id like to quickly see UNREAD emails in one place (regardless of which folders they reside).
At the moment the default HTC client doesnt sync subfolders until you go into each one

I was getting annoyed by exactly the same thing! I had set up filters and labels on my Gmail account, but on my Desire I would only get notifications for mails arriving in my inbox.
I installed Touchdown the other day, and after a bit of fiddling with the settings have found that it does exactly what I/we want! It will alert at any mails that arrive (you select which folders to sync in the settings and it checks them all at) and you can set it to view all mails, regardless of the folders.
Would definitely recommend so far!

[Q] Anyone get this to Sink with outlook?

So will this phone sync with outlook? Don't see any apps on the sprint or samsung site.
Use Activesync via Hotmail to sync w/Outlook contacts and calendar for free OTA.
there is no way to go directly via the cable? I find that syncing via net changes fields. + I hate hotmail
Well you don't need to use it for email.
I've never had an issue with Exchange Activesync screwing up fields between devices. The Hotmail implementation just happens to be the cheapest one out there.
So in the Epic there is a way to select hotmail as a contact source? or does it have to be done through the email config.?
found a rant at sprint about this:
http://community.sprint.com/baw/message/208546
Looks like samsung has an app that was released for another carrier.
Set it up as a corporate account.
What a PITA,
this is quickly turning into a major headache. Sync shouldnt be that big of a deal. Kies is so bloated.
Sync isn't a big deal if you use Activesync OTA. It happens automagically in the background and everything is up to date.
Using a cable to sync is so 1990.

how and where?
I'll monkey with it some more later today, looks like you can set-up the hotmail email as a corporate account on the EPIC 4G, on the PC side I saw an app from microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...89-af2e-41f9-a175-f93e1377959f&displayLang=en
that should allow synchronization from PC to hotmail. I'll whip-up a tutorial later today after I can test it out.
I'll be following this closely.
I was able to get all of my Outlook contacts loaded without losing anything (i.e pictures), by saving them all as .vcf files from Outlook, placing them on the SD card under a "contacts" folder, then on the Epic telling it to import all of the .vcf files from the SD card. That let me get all my Outlook contacts loaded without having to push them up to a Gmail account, then back down to the phone, losing some of the extra stuff Outlook stores, but it's a static operation, meaning if I change a contact on the phone or in Outlook they're out of sync then, and also no syncing of the calendar.
Hopefully syncing Outlook to Hotmail via the add-in, and then using the Hotmail to sync the phone will bring over all the info.

Settings -> Accounts -> Manage Accounts on the Epic (or any other Android device).
Add account and choose "corporate."
On the PC side, grab the Hotmail Outlook connector (free from MS) to sync Outlook directly. Or use Windows Live Mail which syncs natively to Hotmail by default if you don't want to pay for Outlook.
When I try it keeps say can't connect to server. It puts as "\my username" then has sever name as hotmail.com . Then I get a "unable to connect to server" what am I doing wrong. Thanks

You should be able to go into menu>settings>accounts and settings> add account and it will ask what type. The moment used Moxier not sure what is on the Epic as I have to wait a few more days for mine but I will let you know as soon as I do!

how did you go about getting the contact files (currently *.msg) into the *.vcf format?
I kept trying over and over and all I would get is something like " unable to connect server" I finally gave up. I went to the gmail account they make you setup to use marketplace. I when to setting, import contacts and put in my hotmaill account and it got all of the contact. The went to my phone, went to accounts, found my gmail account and synced my gmail account on my phone. Now all of my contacts are on my phone. I not as woried about my calander. I will just use google calander to add my dates. The year is almost over so it's not that much to update manually.
