I'm hoping to get some help with this...
Bought the Jasjar apparently with a bad battery... you would dissconect from the charger and it would go for a bit then die, reconnect to the charger and it would go fine.
Now, had it disconnected it died again but this time it wont start up again when connected to the charger. No red charging light.
Soft reset does nothing
Hard reset brings up the "press zero to restore press x to cancel", pressing either and it just dies again.
got a new battery, no change (dont know what the charge of the battery is like).... noticed when you remove the battery the red charge light comes on.... goes off as soon as the battery is inserted.
any advice or help would really be appreciated.
also
is there a way to check the charge of the battery out of the machine?

I would recommend to reflash your ROM, if not have one/ donĀ“t know how
read the Wiki, you will find all you need there
Good luck
I have this exact same problem, I have a feeling it is the battery. Anyone know?
I put a new battery in, with no change unfortunatly.
I cant update the rom, you cant get to the bootloader, the only screen you can get to is hard reset screen.... but it dies again whatever option you choose.
Hey Bthorn, I was able to fix my device. It was not the battery.
All I did was reflash the ROM.
For this to work for you, you need to be able to enter Bootloader mode. Hold the Backlight Button + Power Button then press the Reset button. If you get to a screen that says "serial" and "v.xx" then you are good.
See the Wiki for details on how to continue:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_ROM_Upgrade
If you really can't get to the Bootloader though I don't know what else to do. Some other people suggest using the mtty method:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_Stuck_Bootloader
Unfortunatly you cant get to the bootloader mode to reset anything.

Hi, my device was low on battery and it went blank. Then I recharged it. After the recharge, the power button press started to soft reset the device and it got stuck at the blue windows mobile screen. After a few hard resets the device went totally blank. I took the battery out waited for a couple of hours, then put it on but no change in the situation. Now when I try to hard reset (camera+conn+soft reset) nothing happens. When I put connect it to the charger, nothing happens as well.
please help I am going mad in here.

use original battery and original charger. be patient, just let it connected long time. (this in case your battery was fully discharged and you did not no use your device for long time)
i am read that it stucks with blue windows well it is window mobile so you not have really blue window, but i think you mean the splash screen.
maybe you have downgraded your device somehow? If so, upgrade it again and it will not stuck any more at the "blue window"
many thanks. my i-mate is plugged in for power now.. there are no lights showing up as well.. i am being patient.. lets see how it goes.
It sounds to me that you have a problem with the battery connectors or maybe the battery it self.
I once let my Jamin run down (when I accidentally left MP3's playing over night) and it refused to boot (stuck on the splash screen just like yours).
Fortunately for me, once I connected the power supply, the problem went away.
If you don't see the orange "charging" light check all connections, make sure the battery is installed properly and the contact surfaces on it are clean, make sure the power supply is plugged in tightly and the wall socket has power.
If nothing helps you'll probably need a new battery.
Many Thanks.. I will order a new battery and see if it works. Very unlucky situation to be left Jaminless on the beach during my summer holiday..
I have problem with my mda pro its seems to be dead.
After upgrade that stoped on 99% with error message 115 i can do noting anymore. No bootloader, hardreset etc. No more charging the device ( no orange light ) but when i out the battery the red light is on but when i put back the battery its again no light on it.
Waiting for a new battery now but i don't think that is the problem
...if some one help me please replay Thanx
My friend is having the same problem
Any solution yet?
Thank you.
seems to me, this is a battery
Sorry!!

In same way I did brick my jasjar too...for a moment no fix yet.

Thats exactly. My friends gets a red blink for a few seconds after connecting to charger. So it's the unit thats dead I bet.
What about JTAG method?!
we are working on it for wizard
I have the same problem, but I had no problems during the last flash. It was fine on Friday. I don't look at it until Monday and now its dead exactly as he described.
No light when plugged into charger.
Red light when battery out plugged into charger.
If I press reset with battery and charger in, I get a single quick blink of the red light.
Has my bootloader some how randomly corrupted?
that's is it

Just disconect and conect again the usb and begin the update again until windows recognize it. or use "Exit Bootloader.exe" but We fall in same error, sorry no fix yet, The JTAG metod was derelict, hopelest smart cientist worked hard but can't do it.

I can still get that hard reset menu up (both soft keys + reset) where it says 0 to reset device, 'x' to exit. The reset doesn't work though, and haven't tried to reflash yet. Am I going to be able to?
you don`t unideath
use the mtty metod to save tour uni (task28 55aa) and load again the prefered ROM........Do you can enter to Bootloader, or not?...
Hello Guys,
Let me understand, if i can't enter into bootloader mode it means i lost my xda exec? :-(
None of the options, hard reset, soft reset work, only the red light blinks sometimes.
i also have this problem. its suddenly dead. the signs are the same.
i was using it fine.. left it to charge next morning its dead.
i cant enter bootloader mode too.
Hello, a while back I posted a charging problem, which turned out to be the Mini-USB and Wall Charger was bent, and before that, the Mini USB outlet in the phone broke entirely. Well, another problem has arisen, as finally got a new charger yesterday, and worked perfectly. So, I shut it off, and left it to charge overnight. Now, the problem? All of a sudden, it refuses to boot. Held down the power button for 5 seconds, 20 seconds, and a full minute. Nothing. Any suggestions?

nothing AT ALL? or the screen turns on and gets stuck?
if nothing at all happens, try the battery jump start method
Well, after constant trying at starting the phone, I managed to have it boot after hours. What happened? During the boot, where it displays Windows Mobile 6, a line appeared, and the phone darkened, and then crashed.
What the hell.
I suggest a hard reset......

....................And how can I hard reset when it doesn't boot, and whenever it does, crashes during it?
Anyone that's here help?
I'm currently having the same problem with mine. Hard resetting didn't work for me but you may as well try it.
If you can get it to start booting for just a few seconds you can hard reset it without loading the operating system. As soon as you get it to turn on, hold down the Wifi and Voice command buttons (one's on the left, one on the right). After holding those down, press the soft reset button (the little button on the right that you can press with your stylus) very quickly and release it. If you hold the soft reset button too long, it will perform a regular soft reset and you'll have to start over, so do that quickly.
A black screen should come up and tell you to press your send button to hard reset your phone.
I have similar problem,It's turn on to the logo that's always shown when boot and then it show the logo till it discharged.I tried hard reset, but it's still the same,i post 2 topic's in this website and no one help me
i too am facing the same problem, i was able to start it a few times but it crashed after a few seconds each time. i m gonna charge it all night and see if it starts. right now all i m getting is the red led. i really hope someone finds a solution soon.
With me it was my battery that caused the problem. Try it with the battery of another wizard. Succes, Rietje
ok so i charged it for more than 12 hours and my wizadr still didnt start.
I then got a NEW BATTERY and my wizard turned on within the very moment i pressed the power button.
So any one who is facing a similar problem should try a new battery.
Yea,this is a second time when i have this problem.I both A new battery,BUT IT STILL THE SAME!!!
First time when i both a new battery it was working fine, but now the battery won't help

try a battery frm a friends phone. u ll be sure that the battery u r using works fine. if ur phone still doesnt work then u need to have it checked.
i have same problem,,and i use T-Mobile MDA Vario
is it just battery problem or not?and if the PDA inactive it can still charge or not?
and i usually use blackberry charger to charge my PDA,is it ok?and is there any possibility my PDA can't work again?i hope not
pls help me..
Well for starters, charging your phone overnight will probably damage the battery over time. It's only the newer phones and batteries that are able to withstand extended overcharging times without serious damage to the battery. With older phones including the K-JAM/MDA Vario, the battery is meant to be charged till its full, and no more. If you overcharge it, you run the risk of damaging your battery and possibly the phone too.
If a new battery hasn't fixed your problem, the problem lies in your phone's mainboard.
Try charging your phone from a USB port on a computer to see if anything happens.
Hello guys, first than nothing, sorry for my bad english, isnt my native languaje. I got this problem yesterday in the night of the new year!!!!!!!:crying: I was rooted, using Xylon and Faux Kernel, but the problem appears from nothing!!
The first thing that I detected was, the phone take a WHILE!!! for charge.... then, out of the power, the phone get overheating and discharging so fast, never in life that happends, when N4 got discharged i try to turn on again but download mode appers in the screen, finally I get in the recovery, then I did a wipe cache/system and factory reset. Install again the Xylon... but when phone finally turns off, when I plugged in to AC absolutelly nothing happends, the led just turn in red, and the N4 dont start in FB, dont get charge, dont do a sh*t !!!! I conect it to the PC but also nothing appends, the N4 doesnt appear in my device list.
So... my N4 its broken?
There was possibly something wrong with the kernel and rom combination that caused your phone to overheat. I think eventually the heat may have damaged your hardware. Sorry but, if something was wrong in the first place it was not a good idea to reinstall the same thing that was causing the problem, if I were you I would have flashed a stock ROM. My only advice now would be to RMA it and pray
EDIT: I found this if it helps at all:
If you are unable to access the settings menu of your device, you can still reset your phone by performing a Hard Reset. Here are the instructions:
If your phone is on, power it off.
Press and hold Power until the device powers on, then immediately press and hold Volume Down (while still pressing Power). You will see the word Start with an arrow drawn around it.
Press Volume Down twice to designate Recovery mode.
Press Power to restart into Recovery mode. You will see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
While holding down Power, press Volume Up.
Use the volume keys to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press Power to select it.
Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press Power to select it.
Note: If at any point during the above steps your phone becomes unresponsive, you can restart it by holding down the power button for several seconds.
Before you try anything else, try and leaving it plugged in for a while and then try turning it on. Or leave it plugged in to a computer then try turning it on.

Try this. I haven't had it happen to me, but I do have a friend who this exact same thing happened and he thought it was bricked. He left it plugged into AC over night, and in the morning it would turn back on.
First than nothing, thanks for reply, I appreciate your intentions to help me.
I will leave it charging all the night and while Im working too... I hope after that, the phone at least turn on.
I dont install the STOCK ROM because I dont have it in my internal memory and I was in my girlfriend house, the night of the 12/31/12, there is not much to do...

It could be bad battery, how long did bought of you had working phone, how many times did you charge?
Did you use out of the box charger?
Did you have problems with usb jack?

I bought it the 13/nov..
I received it 29/nov.
I ALWAYS use stock charger, only 1 time i try to charge it in my car, but it was less thant 5 minutes, I decided dont charge with the car because the energy variates when I accelerate...
After that, I use my phone quiet normal.
I had this problem with my nexus 7. I think my battery died all the way and it couldn't charge. The stick charger wasn't doing anything. But I plugged it into my computer for a few minutes and tried turning it on. Then when the loading screen appeared I ran it to it's stock charger and charged it to full. Your battery probably died. Try different combinations of ways to get it to take a charge. Just long enough to turn on then plug it into its charger. Though the overheating could have fried it

Hallo,
I've got a N4 Stock and yesterday the screen just went black. The phone is not loading (no battery sign and no LED lighting).
I already tried to go to Recovery Mode via pressing Power+VolumeDown while plugging in. Unfortunately only thing I get is a solid red LED for ca. 10 seconds and then nothing.
I assumed that the battery died because of temperature shock since I had been jogging in the cold just before the phone died. But battery change unfortunately didn't help (still the same response. Am I supposed to perform some sort of reset after battery change?)
My question is following: any chances to rescue the phone or even more important to retrieve data from it?
Thanks in advance!
I would really appreciate any help

try holding power and volume up for 1 minute with the device unplugged (it simulates a battery pull) after 1 minute, release the power and vol up buttons and plug the device in. You should see a blinking red LED after doing this, and it should start charging. If it remains on a solid red LED after trying the above, im afraid it may be bricked.

Unfortunately it didn't help. Also I think the solution targets a battery problem. Maybe I haven't made it clear - the battery is already exchanged. Therefore I assume ScumDroid is right and the phone is bricked indeed.
Charge your phone using usb ...for some time ...let it charge and leave it
