I'm having a HUGE stupid moment, too frustrated with work and this isn't helping. I know this is SIMPLE, but I just can't find it.
How do I change the background/wallpaper color to black on the today screen?
Please keep laughing to a minimum until I've got it changed, then knock yourselfs out. Thanks....lol
take a picture while covering the lens, then set it to be ur wallpaper man.

Hello Guys. I have a SGS for two days now and is great.
But whem i see the screen when it's turned off and it is under heavy sunlight, i see some gray horizontal lines in te middle of de screen.
There are very tiny but there are there. And you only see them under direct sunlight when the screen it's turned off.
Should i worry or i it's normal?
For the record, i never drop it or hit it with anything.
I would appreciate a quick answer to know if i have to return it or not.
Hi! I have a Galaxy too and i also have a horizontal lines and also it looks like the glass is scratched from inside. But that is only visible from direct sunlight and not in any other condition. I say this is pretty normal so you dont have to worry about that you just enjoy your super duper phone)).
Thanks for the answer.
But it doesn't look like like scratched glass, because there is one line that is wide than the other(a bit more) and perfectly rectangular.
Do they form a large rectangle shape? It's the motherboard or something visible through the screen, you can see it on any SGS. Nothing to worry about.
I asked the same thing on another forum and was told this.
I have the line too, but it ain't straight. Under heavy sunlight it's visible on a working screen as well. Don't know if this is normal.

theres only one that has a ractangle shape, the others two are only lines
it could be the motherboard. i didn't think it about it.
Thank you very much for the answer.
Anybody else?
Incredible, i looked for this in direct sunlight and with a high lumen lamp but didn´t se any line or something. Now i used my 21 LED Lamp with very powerfull blue light and now i can clearly see a big box with strange lines on the top. Unfortunetley i cannot explain this XD. I will try to make a photo with my Cam and post them.
Ok, my cam cannot make a photo, the light of the ledlamp ist too powerfull and now the batteries from the cam are out of power... But it really looks like the motherboard of the phone. Just strange that i can´t see this in direct sunlight as others.
Someone in this forum says that is the motherboard through the screen.
Today i watched more closely and there a vertical line in the left side of the screen that connects with the other two horizontal line.
It has the form of a circuit. but i cannot confirm this. i need people who confirm this.
It is only visible in direct sunlight when the screen is off. When the screen is on, the lines dissapears. Even in sunlight.
I didnt look if my screen have some lines or not when turned off.. i dont care at all.. im just wonder why u call it as "screen issue" if u dont have problem with your screen when turned on at all..
Why people keep searching for some faults or some pathetic details.. and not enjoying their lovely device
These threads and finds just might fool more people and they will start searching for it aswell since they were happy at all..
just my opinion..
I' am really enjoying this phone, i am a former user of a N96, So believe me that i'am really enjoying my SGS.
Please don't get me wrong. I don't say that the phone has a problem. It's only a detail that caught my eye. And i want to know if it's normal. Thats all.
This is perfectly normal. rest assured.
Thank you guys for the feedback.
I'am still a bit nervous with this phone. I worked nearly three months to buy it. Paid $900 bucks for him (Unlocked). I live in Argentina and things here a bit overpriced.
So. you now understand the reason of so much questioning? And Jumpiness?
Damn dude was it worth it?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Every single cent.
If you had had a n96, you'd understand.
Double post
Sorry for the couble it's just to confirm that is normal on every SGS.
I searched it on google and find this:
http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s/140297-galaxy-s-transparent-screen.html
It results to be normal. It's just a circuit or a type of connector. Look the last picture.
I just noticed this strange ripple near the top left corner of my screen. It doesn't seem to be noticeable when the screen is on, just when it's off and in direct light.
I'm wondering what it could be? Is there some sort of film that goes over the LCD? Could this potentially become a problem later on?
Thanks in advance!
any way for you to take a picture of it?
I have one big wavy line on my display running horizontally and then a few others that are barely noticeable. One of my friends got his MT4G the same day as me, and he has zero wavy lines on his phone. I asked about doing an exchange with T-Mobile, and they said I would have to contact the insurance company to receive a new one (dial 611 or something). WTF? I just bought the damn thing, and they state they don't do exchanges there.

I just tried taking one of mine in macro and non-macro modes, and it just doesn't want to show up in the photo. You can't see it when the display is on (you can see it on the black sides of the display though), but it's very noticeable when the display is off.
I can't seem to get a clear picture of mine either.
It's not really bothering me all that much since I can't see it when the display is on. I just want to be sure that it won't get worse over time to the point that it does bother me.
i read somewhere it has something to do with lowering the amount of glare you get.... i dont have a link but it was the same question your asking.

I see. It does appear to be a film layer over the actual LCD.
What do you guys think the chances are that the waves/ripples will get worse over time?
after trying out different combinations I finally got my screen to look good Right now I prefer it over my Infuse 4g's screen which is super amoled plus
none of those "best voodoo settings" helped well.. they did a bit but i still wasnt satisfied. If anyone else has that problem where your screen looks like someone took a piss on it (that green/yellow tint on it) Ill be happy to share my settings
sorry if its long lol just had to say that cause im happy my screen looks great even though no one probably cares
Hah glad it worked out. Why not just post the settings here right now?
Ya seriously share please!

Big fan of these. Not washed out or yellow, a tad darker than it should be though.
Hey guys!
My Graphite color nexus 6P looks really nice while in direct light. It looks as you see in most photos on the web. But while it is inside a room with dim light it seems to get a faint tint of purple. As in the graphite turns a little bit in purple. It might be from the light or from the colors it reflects from around it but I am not sure. Does this happen to any of you?
Best regards!
Ok, you need to stop this, now.
This forum is not here for your EVERY ocd about the color of this device. This is the SECOND thread you've opened regarding the color.
"The color in dim light looks ______ " are you serious? This is a post on xda? I can't even anymore.

Not trying to be rude. But what am I doing wronge, if I make ? i am asking something about the quality of the phone. Something that I consider odd. Trust me I searched before about this and found nothing. That's why I am asking. Maybe someone with the same question wil also find this thread useful.
With all respect but I do not think ai did anything wrong.
I am still waiting for a competent answer
Best regards!
the color changing in different light has to do with "the quality of the phone"?
Are you kidding me?
You were ready to do a second RMA on your device because you thought the color of your PERFECTLY FUNCTIONING fingerprint scanner was slightly (but you werent sure) different than the rest of the device.
And now you're ready to do it again, because of the way the color changes in different light? This is why the RMA process is becoming harder and harder. Pure abuse.
This is pretty stupid.
I think you should put a matte black dbrand skin on yours and call it a day. Or return it and get a different color other than purple. Or put it in a box where light can't escape or enter. Of all the things people have been critical about on this phone, this one is quite somethin
Here it's kinda purple: https://tctechcrunch2011.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/img_20151019_133436.jpg?w=1024
But it's grey here! http://www.androidheadlines.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Nexus-6-vs-Nexus-6P-AH-8.jpg
Here's it looking like a black hole: http://www.droid-life.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/nexus-6p-12.jpg

It is actually that is pretty noticeable. Especially in dim light rooms. Trust me, I am not making this up.

We all know you are not making this up, but you are creating various threads that point out a non-issue (as it does not affect the quality, and functionality under normal circumstances). Put simply, different materials reflect light differently and the quality of light also may change how humans perceive color.
I don't believe this thread is out there to help anyone with a similar question. Your previous thread asked a very similar question and you will be getting similar answers in this thread (or so I believe). If I am correct and you receive similar comments this means you are spamming the forum and that's what you're doing wrong.
I think you study how light absorbs, reflects, and transmits.
Enough said.

Doesn't matter if your making it up or not.
If its an issue that affects you, then handle it how you see fit.
Posting here, asking if it happens to anyone else (twice now) is really irrelevant. If it bothers you enough, handle it, what others think shouldn't matter.
Put a case on it, return it, whatever.
Obviously its an issue for you. So fix it.

this is the best answer lolololol
Maybe you should just get a different phone. First the fingerprint scanner and now this. Not to mention no one's answer in the other thread you started was good enough for you to realize you're phone is fine. All you're seeing is the reflection of light off the phone. Nothing wrong with the phone at all. Light is comprised of every color on the spectrum (ROYGBIV). Your eyes simply see different colors based on the angle of the reflection and the intensity of the light. Once again. There is nothing wrong with you're phone. If you can't accept it then go buy a different phone. Nuff said.

Well I used up all my Thanks for the day in this thread. THANKS for the lulz, boys.
Just wondering if you guys can give me some tips on taking better photos. Everything always looks all washed out and even out of focus sometimes.
Maybe some pro mode settings you guys use?
Here is a pic I took for example. The ram sticks go from red to orange but look orange and the light around the case is orange but looks white. I tried some of the filters but nothing helped.
Poking fun at Samsung fanboys here.....
Fanboy: But but.....our camera takes better pictures than the iPhone. the iPhone isn't colorful.
Me: Right, but its the correct color.
Fanboy: But ours it better.
This is my biggest disgust with this phone. If you do find a solution, post it here.
This camera is awful when it comes to true replication.
Thanks for your help

Lol the picture above has nothing to do with colour correction, you can tell by the led light on the speaker that it's a smudging issue.
OP needs to take better care of the camera lense, wipe it down and find a glasses cleaner solution; hopefully you didn't scartch it.
It's not a smudging issue, nor is it scratched, I take very good care of my phone. Besides how would a smudge change the color of the ram from red to orange? Or the color from the case light from orange to white?
You can literally tell you camera is smudged or scratched, look at the diffusion on the ambient lights. Sounds like it's probably micro scratched and hasn't been cared for, you can either try polishing or replacing the front glass.
Also might be in your best interest to check out the HDR/color setting, try setting it to auto if you aren't sure what balance settings do.
