hi i have a mda vario and the problem is that the back light keeps turning off, the only way to get it back on is to turn the phone on and off and then it works fine for about 3 mins! any suggestions please
serious? surely not,
You're joking right? I have yet to find any type of mobile that doesn't turn itself off after a while but,
If you are serious then try changing the power settings, if you are unable to do that then perhaps you were not destined to use a mobile phone,,,

mariaj you may want to reconsider your original question. It appears there is wide room for interpretation of your intentions.

The phone is meant to turn of the backlight after a certain amount of time, about 30 seconds to a minute, depending on what is set in the settings, when the backlight turns of a button press or screen tap should bring the back light back on.
Also after a certain period of inactivity, usually 1 - 2 minutes, the phone will go into standby, which you will have to press the power button and it will come back on.
Please explain a little more in detail, i have a slight fault with mine that may be what your trying to explain.
My lcd sometimes starts fading out and i have to go into standbye and on to get it back on.

Hello every body.
I've a problem with my I-mate since 3 or 4 months ago. It works with windows mobile 2003 se since I paid it to Los Angeles. I used for long time may be 2 years without any problem. The problem is the operating system (OS) doesn't respond. When I switch it on, when it finish to load the OS, the screen indicates "Flight mode", no network and not battery. You can see it on these pictures.

In that situation, if you want to access to any program, there is an error "Access denied. The program cannot start because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate".
I tried the hardware reset, it doesn't work, i tried also all the methods which is on the forum XDA-Developers but nothing special.
Can someone help me?
Solution about my problem
Hi everyone,
I find myself the solution about my problem, I've done correctly the hard reset and my I-mate SP3i works again.
This is the hard reset I used:
1. Press and hold soft1 and soft2 keys.
2. Press and hold power button for around 1 to 1.5 seconds. Release power
button. Keep hold soft1 and soft2 keys.
3. Later, screen shoould show instructions to ask user to press '0' key to
reset to factory default.
4. Press '0' within the timeout period, which is only several seconds
only.
5. If no instruction is shown on the screen, repeat steps 1 to 4. The timing is very important.
Thanks
i thanks u
mr gaetanmbk i thanks you for this useful i-mate sp3i., once again i m very grateful to you.
Hey, guys. Problem with my Hermes keyboard. It works fine for a while, usually 2-4 hours, then suddenly stops. In the middle of typing. Backlight goes out and won't turn back on. I'm unsure whether this is a ROm problem, (Shnaps 4.00 ) or a hardware problem. As it's only just started happening, as in today, I'm beginning to get fearful of a hardware fault.
Everything is fine after soft reset, too.

Difficult to say if it's software or hardware. See here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330700
and if it's physical, then it's likely to be this connector that's at fault (Not much dismantling - just under back cover):

Well, been on for a while, and has not happened since I uninstalled TCPMP, yesterday. I have no idea why this is, only that is seems a lot like when the device slows down, and keypresses take a while to come through, and the backlight to activate. No idea.
Guys,
I like to check with you all whether any solution for the below problem :
Every time I boot up my phone, it will display the messaging menu on the background and I cannot view the HTC Sense main screen till I press any button.
Please see below photo of the problem :

Mine does exactly the same thing.
mine does the same thing too, it seems to be that messaging tries to open up on top of it, if you see on your screenshot, it says messaging at the top instead of start. Seems to be an issue with windows mobile i think as i had the same thing happen on my touch pro with a custom rom. it happens to me when i use the phone too, for example if i'm watching a video in full screen that messaging thing appears over it and exits full screen playback, doesnt happen all the time but enough to become annoying
Try booting the phone without the memory card inserted. Maybe it's corrupt.
I get this too. Tried searching for a fix but couldn't find one so good to see a thread started here about it.
Touching the screen will also take you to the main screen.
Weird. I get the "Launching HTC Sense" sometimes, but never the Messaging thing instead of Start.
It only happens on mine if the phone has been switched off for a while, for example over night, if I just switch the phone off and back on again it goes straight to the main screen.
Ok guys it started since I migrate to 5.1.1 ROM, flashed clean DN 0.3 note 5 port, and the phone would just go black at least once per day, nothing seems to work even a hard restart (volume up + power button for 20 sec) only a battery pull would restart the phone. So I figured it must be the ROM ( noone in DN 0.3 thread seems to have this problem) . So I flashed the original 5.1 firmware for my country, rooted it and used it for a day to find out it does the same! I'm really not sure what seems to be the culprit. I couldn't find a conclusive pattern on the bsod however last time I noticed it happened right before I was disconnected from public wifi, perhaps it is the modem? Maybe it's root and bootloader conflict with 5.1 firmwares? (the phone boots up, so it cannot be bootloader? Or I don't understand something about what bootloader does?) Any one has encountered the same problem? Any clues on how to fix it?
Just happened again while wifi connection was weak and I think it happens right before it got disconnected or switched to other connection mode or different wifi
Read around the forums that people are having bsod in combination with Tasker and secure settings to switch off secure keyguard, I never use this option, just use Tasker to automate sync processes, Uninstalled it nevertheless. Will see if it helps
Happened again... Noticed that the battery percentage drops quote significantly after the battery pool, here is the screenshot

My ZE553KL (I use it as a home device control, small tablet) keep loading/reloading for 3 hours now. I CANNOT SHUT IT DOWN. everytime I have this vibrate boot, ITS SUPER ANNOYING.
It show the bootloader then reboot, then show the bootloader and so on. Buttons are unresponsive.
Only think I can do is press up and get to screen number 2 for exactly 6 second (my computer then recognize it).
I cannot remove battery (hello soldered battery). or shut it down, I guess at some point It will drain battery but.
I have no idea what is happening, please help?

Ouch
Play with it. Proper button sequence and timing is everything. It's easy to not hit the right button at the exact moment. Allowing the battery to auto shutdown may break the cycle. Don't attempt to solder the battery without a good iron and skillset. You need to be fast about it.
If the OS is pre Pie it's suspectable to rootkits that require a reflash to erraticate.
A hardware failure is also possible.
A bad coded 3rd party apk can also boot loop you. That's worse than a normal boot loop though.
It's definitely corrupted... hopefully someone here who has seen this before and/or knows more about that line of phones advanced troubleshooting can help you.
