All XDA II user,
When I use XDA II phone to talk to others, frequently, I hear some "GI..GI" sound from the earpiece. I am sure it is not the network problem. I went to the dealer and get another phone to test. The result is the same.
I suspected that something placed very close to the earpiece like spring which resonance with the earpiece.
Is there anybody experience the same?

And when you play music ? :?
Not sure if anyone can help me here... I've started to use my atom as an mp3 player and it sounds good with the equaliser off. Once I turn the equaliser on, I noice that a low frequency "echo" occurs. This is more detectable with al of the other bands set to zero gain (or the centre setting).
I've re-rom'd my atom several times with the mini-sd card in and out of the atom as i was romming it but this phenomenon is still there. I would like to enhance the bass a bit when listening through headphones but cannot because of this.
Can anyone help please?

thanks but I wanted to enhance the bass at around 31hz, not reduce it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Atom has lots of problem
Atom speaker problem is one the problems that atom has. Is it atom or atom exec? I just dumped my atom because the biggest problem that I was facing was the echo at the other end during the phone call. Now I have switched over to Atom Zinc, which I have been using for last 2 months. I had upgraded my rom till the latest, no use..

i got same problem with my first Atom. the only solve is changing u,r main board. send it to service center
is there something which we can do about it i mean speaker change
or any hardware manual so that i can replace the speaker or any tweaks
Please reply

It's not the speaker itself. It can't add eny echo, it will only play what the sound chip sends to it. So there's no use in changing anything else than the sound chip, which on a regular computer would mean a 10 dollar sound card upgrade. On a PDA it's a full motherboard change, though.
Mastiff u r rite. i,ve go thru it.

hi,
i had the same problem with my ATOM.
if you can listen to music with your earphones and it is sound OK then the electronics probably OK, and the problem is with the speakers!
i replaced the 2 speakers myself and know it is OK.
If you are out of warranty, then you can consider replacing the speakers on your own – not so difficult job. You can order them on e-bay.

I am pulling my hair out.
Does anyone here know of any ROM or Tweak that can increase the audio level (received / earpiece) for an Atom during a phone call. The phone call audio level (received) on the Bluetooth link is crap as well.
No amount of searching XDA Fourms has got me anywhere - surely someone here has looked at this.
Currently trialing a HTC Touch Dual and it is brilliant in comparison...
I am considering buying the HTC Aria (I can get it for free) but have read on several Android forums about the problems with the Aria's lack of ringtone volume. Has anyone here suffered from this or is this just a few upset customers. Also if you've had this problem were you able to fix it if so how? Did rooting the phone help at all? Thanks for the help.

Um...depends on what you mean by ringtone volume. Everytime I have my volume all the way up it rings and I can hear it. I've never had an issue where I had my volume up and it sounded like it was at anything less than full...hope that answers your question

I've had low volume problems when using songs for Ringtones. Used MP3 Gain pc software to increase the volume of the file. Search for "MP3 Gain" on the internet

MY ringtone is way way too loud. thats not an issue for me.
There are however volume problems with speaker phone or even the regular phone depending on your locations noise level.
Same here,I usually turn on the speaker and. Hold the phone close to my ear so I can hear people.there is a louder volume hack,I just haven't been able to test it.
