I just wanted you to inform about release version 1.0 of btCrawler.
New features are:
- Redesigned the Smatphone UI. Handling should be better now.
- Added Bluejacking for both PPC and SP
- Added file transfer over BT and IRDA (PPC only)
- Added Bluesnarfing code (PPC only)
- Created CAB installer

Added Bluesnarfing for Smartphones...
- Added Logging (Logfile goes to \My Documents\btc-devicelog.txt)
- Added File Open Dialog to the Transfer Page
- Added an options dialog (in main screen press menu->options)
- Added bluetab exploit (to activate create a dword with the name "ISC-Sploits" and a value of "1" under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Mode) Then you will have a new Button in the main screen. There you can active the bluetab sploit. (Reference: Google for Qnix and bluetab) BE RESPONSIBLE!!!
- This is a beta release. Some things may work, others not...If you find a bug, please send me an email.

only issue is I don't have an icon for the program?
It's just the generic white program box, yet under the .exe properties, I see the BT/Target icon, so it's close...

Thanks. It works great. To putt a icon by your programs you must make up a Shortcut and cut/paste it in your Windows/startup menu/programs folder.

OK, I fixed the Icon bug and also a bug in the cab. A shortcut link is now created in the startmenu.

Just copy the cab file (version 1.0.2 as of now) to your device and click it. It will then be installed.

i have downloaded the latest version and copied it to my xda
its showing as an xml file called _setup and 2 unknown files BTCRAW~1.000 and BTCRAW~1.001

Can you explain that any further? You start btCrawler and directly press the Transfer button. Then the program exits. Have I got this right?

I also see enormous battery drain while scanning/in transfer mode. hovewer probably it's normal? or maybe it's my OS fault? I use 1.0, will try the newest.
I also don't understand interface, after scanning you can click on discovered device, or choose it from combo box. What's difference?
In transfer mode one device sometimes show a few entries with different services, nice to know which one to use to send file/message/bluesnarf.
Is it possible to snarf adressbook only, or for example files/images too?

Yes, the battery drain might occur when using active scanning, but there's nothing I can do about.

If you want to make a SDP query for a device you must first select it from the drop down box. The listbox has no additional function.

The program shows multiple entries for a device if this device offers multiple services for transfer. Rule of thumb: For bluesnarfing you stick with Object Push. For file transfer you can use all. I personaly always use Object Push.

Currently only the address book is snarfed but maybe I will add the grabbing of all other (like send/received SMS, call history and so on...)
As for the rest: You are right. I should write some kind of documentation but unfortunately I'm currently out of time.

Hm, never had that problem with the program exiting on my devices...but if it's gone and no other has similar probs...
I'll check about the autoselct option and will fix it for one of the next releases.
I'll check the pictuer grabbing if I get my SE T610 back...

This app isn't fully working in my Qtek g100 (HTC Galaxy, I-mate PDA-N, Dopod P100)... I get it to control my bluetooth settings, but no luck in choosing the destination of the received files.
I'm also unable to get this screen when receiving files:
I'm getting the standard WM5 notification and the prompt to accept the files instead... :
Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this? I'd love to get this app working fine since it looks awesome.

To change the destanation where u wanna the files to be saved, go to --> Menu --> options --> File Filters .... and chnge them 2 wich directory u want ...

Moblue handels only reciving files, and u should turn it on manualy, spares u from battery drain

No ur not missin anything but anyway when i wanna send somethin i use fileexplore to find the file, and thing it's kind of easeir 2 beam it that way

I'm using the Wireless Today Switch, which I think is fantastic, so thank you for the effort that went into making it. I have disabled the background by removing the line in the xml and the background png. I think it is line three. Anyway, one think I have noticed is that when you press and hold the phone button, whether the phone is on or not, the bottom option in the context menu is always "Turn off phone". The functionality works, i.e. it does switch the phone on when it's off, but the text is wrong. I'll have a look at it later myself but do you know an easy solution to this? I'll post the no background edit with a screen shot later today.

The single thing I did is the XML and the graphics, the other functions are Batterystatus's. So is this little bug

It's TodayAgenda. The great thing with this plugin, is that you can set a fix size... Set it to 62 and it's perfect

Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread, but this seemed as appropriate a place as any to post this.
Though skinning and such is not my usual forte, I put enough work into this that it's only fair to share. This app was exactly what I was looking for when I decided I wanted a bluetooth on/off switch on my today screen... but, I really wanted it to match my iPhone icons. The result is attached. I've eliminated the wifi toggle since my HTC Touch has no wifi.

This is the wireless router for wireless internet sharing that has been floating around. It is not working 100% on the TP2, however the basic functions do work.

If I have uesed the ruter it is inposible to get conect to internet after.
In the begining I thourgh it was low 3g /hi but I found if I conect my tp2 as a modem or use the ruter again, it is no problem surfing whit the computer but still not whit the phone.
Any out there who has a solution or an idea?

From what I recall on the Touch Pro it was easier to start the router and did not have to enable the settings to automatically use the settings when starting. Othe than that it has been working well for me.
Yes I can make a version where direct push is left alonr or you can install this and use advance config to place direct push back on comm manager.

What's different from THIS version? That version works just fine on my Vario V.
Don't have the CommManager link but it works just fine running it from the connections tab.

0n my tp the app dosent start from the com manager - i thought it didnt install until i found it in a new folder within the programs folder called network center...
so, when i start the app its interface is too tall for the tp - the checkbox is below/behind the software keyboard icon...
so,i dont knnow how to get it to work since what i see is so different from the instructions. can someone offer any guidance? seems t me that the wifi chip needs to be on but it keeps finding available networks and th wifi router doesnt seem to do anything.... yep, am having issues!

Be sure to install it on the TouchPro2, not TouchPro. Even though I think it could work on both VGA and WVGA.
You could give some more information about your device or provide a screenshot.

The following CAB will also place the WiFi Router on the Comm Manager, it will replace Microsoft Direct Push.
Please follow instructions for it to work properly:
Install At0mAng WiFi Router.cab
Restart your phone
Open Comm Manager
Tap where it reads Internet Sharing to bring up WiFi Internet Sharing, if you tap the On/Off button it will bring up the USB Internet Sharing
Set the Router name and password you would like.
Set the option to always use these settings without asking
Close WiFi Router
Go back to Comm Manager
Restart WiFi Router
You should be able to connect now.

No, the phone has WiFi that should work fine with your home router. This program turns your phone into a WiFi router, so you can connect a laptop to your phone (by WiFi) and get internet access for the laptop when away from home.

Does it provide the tethering charge workaround too? and does it have a crash cleanup? (TP2 is in the mail so I can't test )

When I change the settings, set always use and close, on returning the settings have gone back to default.
How do I change the settings permanently?

A new version is out in the Development and Hacking forum that resolves some issues of this one.
Look for a post by Noonski.

how to turn off 3g on tilt 2

Is there a way to turn off 3g, if not using on the tilt 2? it's draining my battery. wktask failed on me, gave me errors and froze the phone. are there other similar apps like wktask?

Install the advanced configurator tool (search) and enable Band Selection in the phone settings.

Just go to the built in comm manager and switch it off....
well Im using NGGz 6.5 rom and the last option on the list is 3G, just tap the little on/off switch works great for me.
Although by the sounds of it maybe this option is not available on your rom?

if its anything like the stock TMOUS ROM slide over to the settings tab and look for communications tap that and down at the bottom it should be there.

so i'm noticing that my data connection always get turned on by itself. any i dea why? i set all my outlook exchange and email to manual sync...
if not, i did find this cab that can disable it..i'll give it a go and see if it will work

I think WMLongLife should do what you want. I haven't tried it, but there are reports of it working with various TP2s.

tech savvy and search friendly i may be BUT,,, i cant get the 3g to go off on a htc tilt 2.. ive tried about all and searched till i have no fingers ..i cant get the communications manager to stop to imout a new one .. nothing.. anyone PLEASE help.. i got this phone free new for a fuze and im really happy EXEPT at&t or whomevers right that revoved the ability to switch bands ..i hate to be flamed,, but if thatas the way you guys want to be u r loss.... i have searched.. even with windows longlife it reverts to 3g...i loved the fuze,, and thanks to you guys here ,, you made it very nice.. i put a new manager and snaps in the other and it worked .. my two new ones no luck..anyway i have a tilt 2.. st7377.. anyones help is appreciated as i like the phone.. just no d pad..

On my European TP2 with stock ROM I do this to switch off 3G:
Settings tab > Communication > Telephone (not the on/off switch!! Just tap the phone icon or title) > Band > GSM
and you are done. If it switches on 3G after that, it's bugged somehow.

Just got my Tilt 2. I couldn't believe there is no way to turn off 3G in the stock ROM settings as there was on my Treo 750. I looked into the Advanced Configuration Tool and the WMLongLife tool. They are both incredible but are overkill for me. I just want to be able to manually turn 3G off and on. I found something on Handango dot com that seems to work well. It is called Bandswitch and is made specifically for HTC windows phones. Only problem is its ridiculous price, $14. But it seems to keep 3G off until I enable it again. It also has some other features regarding wifi and bluetooth. It has a trial version so I hope some of you try it out and let me know your pros and cons. I am surprised by how little discussion there is on this subject.

install that cab from the previous post and soft reset your phone. it should work. if not, you will need to go to comm. manager and turn off 3g.

anyone have the 3g toggle for comm manager download? i found some but they replace the microsoft direct push rather than just putting in the blank space below data connection.

anyone have the 3g toggle for comm manager download? i found some but they replace the microsoft direct push rather than just putting in the blank space below data connection.

Hey man...I actually enabled that switch in comm manager with a setting that was buried in one of the regular config apps we use (total commander, HD tweak, Rhodium settings tool), I just can't remember which right now.
It put the switch you're talking about on the comm manager screen, right below the data connection spot. But...on my 6.1 ROM it doesn't have any effect, I suspect it'll work properly on a later WM/Sense build.
I'll dig in a bit and see if I can remember/discover which one had the setting..

well if you find out, let me know. i looked through the registry with total commander and then entrys in hklm\software\htc\commmanager arent there. i think itll take more than a simple registry edit.

I found it In Advanced Config, hit the "menu" softbutton (bottom right), then choose "more settings", then "comm manager"....you'll get a list of all the switches you can add/remove from the comm manager.

how do i get past that?
i did try changing on/off buttons to both large and default and all that does it make it to where comm manager doesnt open.

Yeah...I don't really know how to get past that, I didn't know it had that limit because even with the 3g switch I was still only using 6.
However, when I just tested it by adding the "beaming" button, it threw up that same error, but the button still showed up, giving me a total of 7 switches in the comm manager screen. I have no idea how/why. I checked in Advanced Config again, and the beaming button was un-checked.
and yes, I get the same results when I change it from switches to large or default buttons, comm manager won't open at all.

I can't even seem to find my comm manager on the updated Tilt2 ROM.....!
