Why doesn't anyone here use the ftp site (ftp://xda:[email protected]/Herald)?
Does rapidshare/megaupload have some advantage over it?
I would think it would just be much easier and more organized.

They really can't keep any of the roms on this site for licensing reasons. Microsoft would have a field day with this website. I think in the past they had issues before because of it. It wouldn't be a bad idea to keep some cab files on it though.
O gotcha. Well if i had the money for it, i would host my own site atleast with tons of cabs. Maybe a large list or categories with a small description beside each. Then after clicking it it shows more details and a download link. Someone needs to do it

There are a couple guys on here that have their own ftp sites with all kinds of cabs, but I can't remember who....but they have links on their signatures. I'll take a look and see if I can find the links though.

I found a cab to remove top and bottom curtain and I liked the look but in the music player on touchflo when you click on library you cant see the other icons which are white on white with no bottom curtain.
So I need a fix for that or a cab for no top curtain only.
Thanks

Very good point - I'm surprised that I didn't think of saying this myself; however, he may have not known who developed it in which case he should not have even posted it without passing it by one of the Mod's first to make sure it wasn't Warez or something (unless he did in which case he should have given credit or just posted a link. Thankfully it wasn't. Anyways, he wasn't asking for donations for the app or anything and we all know now where the app came from thanks to above post.
By the way, the above post (up a few anyways) which shows where the app originated from is a great thread for TF3D users. WOW.

Hi all,
We're a new here. We wanted to extend our app to Windows Mobile/Pocket PC and need about 50 beta testers.
Download free here: http://bit.ly/Cm8Dd
We would prefer to discuss here in this forum since you are already registered here, simply reply below.
More info here and here.
Please note, this is NOT a live app just yet and is meant for beta testing only.
This app will be 100% free-to-use once launched.
Thanks all!

I have it installed. I cannot add anything to the feeds like blogs or anything like that. It is very nice to look at but it is not finger friendly. Could you please tell me how to add blogs and or rss feeds or is that the part that isn't live. Is there anything specific that you want feedback on?
Thanks

Hey everyone, I would like to help the Hero ROM makers and users out. Rather than using a ad infested, slow free file sharing host, I'll provide free hosting on my servers.
The ROM listing is at: http://dl.bikcmp.com/
Note: When you click that link, it will redirect to a server. When sharing links, for example you are redirected to 'http://server1.bikcmp.com/rom/abc.zip' (just a example) and you're going to share a link on a ROM thread, just use
http://dl.bikcmp.com/rom/abc.zip, replacing abc.zip with the path to the ROM.
To add your ROMs to the server, either PM me, leave a reply on this thread, or contact me on the Sprint hero IRC channel (I'd rather have you do this, so I can talk to you faster) at http://widget.mibbit.com/?server=irc.bikcmp.com&channel=%23hero-cdma
This would not be here if it wasn't for the very generous few who donated their hard earned money to support projects such as this. Your kindness has not been forgotten.
Enjoy.
Jason(bikcmp)

The servers (more than one. ) have a extremely, EXTREMELY fast uplink speed. 2.5 Gigabits a second enough for you? On 3 servers?

I don't think he was trying to be mean, I think he was saying "Are you sure that your server can handle this?". I could see someone hosting it from their home or something to try to help out, but they have a very slow connection. These are real servers, don't worry hehe. I do work with servers, so I know stuff about them .
As much as I hate to do it...
*bump*
I posted this at a bad time... not many people are on XDA at 12 am... hehe
Overall I like to host on my own server because I can completely control it and can easily pull downloads or change something if I need to. But I know on release days my site drags so having some decent mirrors would be nice. I'll be in touch. And thanks for this.

Thanks zerofeel, it worked perfectly. I did it with widows 7 x64 and it took about 3mins for the nvflash and about 2mins for first boot. I was back to 3.1/US total stock in just under 5mins
MD5 - 6E3E5BC175B426CB0654659A2E1C4949 for nvflash_windows.zip
thanks, but could you also post the WW version?

People have been asking for a way to unbrick and unroot their transformers on my website tabletroms.com, so tonight I built a set of NVFlash recovery images for you all to use. Please enjoy the fruits of my labor. This also allows people to test all the great roms and know that they have an easy way to get back.

Plus side of forcing registration is the ability to sell advertising on you site if it has a high number of registered users.
Negative side is the liability incurred should the database be hacked and stolen.
Tough choice.
Would love to see a download mirror for the us and ww stock roms.
I'm running a paid version of vbulletin just like xda.

..I agree / is this forum policy?!
I registered and got the links. Either I am too naive or others are too paranoid
The question is now: do I just flash the ROMs with CWM recovery or is there any other preferred method? I guess once I did this I can root using the method shown here?
Thanks!
It appears the links are to a paid download site.

Most of these downloads are linked to a site where you get certain advantages when you pay for an account such as faster download speeds, no limits per day, no waiting before download etc. But I did not pay and still got the file in ~10 min. Why is everyone here so hostile all the sudden???
Good question I run a great community that has done a lot of good **** for people. This is the first and last time I will ever post my **** on xda. Nothing against the site, but some of you are real assholes. I run my community on a server in my garage and have paid for the server, software, and bandwidth and you make stupid comments. The software this site runs on is identical to the software I use and its not cheap. I have google ads to fund contests, get devices for people, pay for my overhead, etc. What do you all do but run you mouth?
Last comment I will make on this site about my release.

About Internet censorship There are resources that allow users to bypass the technical aspects of Internet censorship. Each solution has differing ease of use, speed, and security from other options.
Proxy websites are often the simplest and fastest way to access banned websites in censored nations. Such websites work by being themselves un-banned but capable of displaying banned material within them. This is usually accomplished by entering a URL address which the proxy website will fetch and display. They recommend using the https protocol since it is encrypted and harder to block. +
