Hi, I have a problem with my Herald; it's battery has a weird way of recharging.
Usually when it's on USB at my work, it recharges up to about 82% and then starts dropping to about 62% when I disconnect it it will swim between 62% and 68% before starting to decrease further like a normal behaving battery.
When im at home it does seem to recharge normally on the power plug though I haven't tested it fully on USB.
I have already ordered a new battery but I am wondering if this will solve the problem or if this is simply a known problem; the phone just has a hard time estimating the battery charge?
Thank you.

Is there someone els who hast got this problem?
The battery level reaches 28% and my XDA Neo switchs itself off. The only way to power it on again, is to connect it with the charger, the USB-cable does not work.
Is it an ROM-Bug or does my battery has got a defect?
I hope someone can help me
Ciao
A sudden drain?
Try checking what % you see just after plugging to mains.
If you see 3-5%, this is the battery draining very fast. So, time to replace it?.
If not, hmmm well, i have to think about that...
After plug in the charger, the battery level is still at 28%.
The battery is new, i bought my device just 4 weeks ago.
Try with another battery
I check in my registry but don't see anything special to modify. Looks like there no key to define a shut-down threshold.
Unfortunately, i've got nothing miracleous to tell:
Try reproducing the same shutoff with another battery. If happens again, then device to repair. If not reproduced, that's the battery.
LiIon batteries have internal controllers to check their charge level. When he device sees 28%, this may be reported wrong bythe controll and real charge may be 1%. That's just a guess but that kind of error should not happen with a new battery.
I'm going to send my battery to the service...
Yes, there are no problems, if I use another battery.
BTW: I heared about, that some other people had nearly the same problem with there battery... maybe it's a failure in a series of batteries?
Xperia wont charge to 100% - gets stuck at 90 %
any ideas whats going on?
its been charging all night at 90% :S
are you charging via usb to pc, or usb to floor charger?
i hope battery not been extremely discharged before....
USB - but i've just done 2 restarts and 3 soft resets and its gone up to 100% now - really odd problem - lucjy its fixed - phew
if you can't get it to 100% charge while charging with the floor charger..
you might have already discharged it too greatly.
90% might be your new maximum, unless it's the phone's problem.
EDIT: Ah I see, that's good then! I usually charge it with the floor charger since it's faster than a pc-usb charge =]
Good news then~
If you have a laptop and you're trying to charge you're phone thru the USB port...you'll wait A LONG LONG time...
I only use the floor charger...
i think by doing a soft reset, you just recalibrated the battery settings. just a guess tho. sometimes battery charge, and indication gets out of sync and so you have to recalibrate them. as i said, dont know if this applies to the x1.
To recalibrate a battery you need to drain it to the last drop then charge it fully (i think preferably thru Wall charger) for several hours.. so the battery controller can detect which voltage range the battery is working on... normally i think when i charge thru usb it gives me power but i think it drops faster... than when on wall charger...
just don't drain it very often.. it makes your batt go bad... i read somewhere that once every three months is ok...
So I noticed last time that while the phone was plugged in to charge, the battery started to drain instead of charge, even though I wasn't using it, which was kind of odd since it drained pretty quickly. Unplugging and plugging back in seemed to fix the problem, but when i tried to charge the phone today, somehow the battery instantly jumped up to 100% and it doesn't show up as charging.
Is this a software bug, or is there something wrong with my battery?
I've been having similar issues. i would leave my phone plugged in all night and it would be charged to 80% when i wake up in the morning.
Yeah, sometimes mine charges really slowly too, but in the screenshot the battery doesn't even charge and drains faster than when it is idle.
Hi everyone!
My Nexus had a great battery Life at the beginning..after 6 months,it started to last less,so i bought a smartwatch to help the battery last longer; but the things didn't get better. The phone overheat when using maps or play some games just for 10 minutes;when i unplug the charger at 11.30 am in the morning,it goes to a 50 or 40% around 4 o' clock pm in the afternoon just after sending some WhatsApp messages, and after have played 15 minutes..the battery drains really really fast..but worst of all, when the battery reach the 25%,suddendly the phone turns off, telling that the battery have reached 1% and is empty. If i turn on the phone again, the battery percentage indicator is still set to 1%..what's the problem with it?i have a faulty battery?Need to call the Google assistance?
The phone is stock, not rooted or anithing else.
Thanks a lot!
I have had the same issue.
Occurs sometimes when I'm on 10%, I power it back on and it says 1%.
The problem is if you charge using QuickCharger all the time, especially overnight, it can degrade your battery but in a way that it doesn't fully charge.
Try using a normal USBC cable you got and PC to charge it for a few days...don't leave it charging more than 3 hours.
See if it'll get better after a week.
I Always use the supplied charger from Google..sometimes a car adapter with a usb c- usb c- cable...how is it possible that the stock Wall adapter mess up the battery??
I noticed yesterday my battery seemed to be draining very fast so I rebooted it, yet 2 hours later I noticed it was still draining as the same rate. Then I noticed I couldn't turn my WiFi or BT on. Multiple power cycles and turned off phone completely, also removed the battery and replaced it with a spare, still no joy. It also won't turn on unless it's plugged into a charging cable.
I switched it off overnight at 15% batt, in the morning I switched it back on and found it had somehow drained to 0% even though it was off overnight.
I've been charging it today and it's taking 2-3x longer than usual, something is still draining the battery.
Any ideas on what the cause is? I think it's hardware related. I tried to take a screenshot of the battery screen but for some reason my screenshots turn up blank when I transfer them to PC, but all the previous screens are still fine.

If the phone was off yet the battery still drained, that means you have a bad battery. There's nothing to use power while the phone is turned off.
Batteries still lose charge over time even when left inactive, but a good battery won't lose charge in just one night.
It's draining with both batteries (standard and extended 5200mah), neither of them had this problem until yesterday.
Extended batteries are fake, buy a new genuine battery and let us know

It's an Anker battery which are really reliable. Like I said I tried the original Samsung batt as well, that also drains very fast and charges slow, same issue on both batteries and they were both working fine before. Started draining the same time the WiFi/BT stopped working. Happened in the middle of the day, just had it sitting on my desk.
