haha, you joined this forum this month, and you think you can undestand it all?
I have been here a little while..I still get surprised with what I can find on this forum.
If I want to learn something new, I spend a great deal of hours trying to find something I can use, and when I find something, I spend alot of time reading up on it, searching even more in the same topic.
All in all. The wiki is not perfect, the forum is not perfect, but in my oppinion, its dam close. I know a bunch of paysites that provides alot less info then you find here.
We are a bunch of ppl who love what we are doing, but demanding more and more and more is not the way to do it.
And the funny thing here is: Imagine if you got all the answers, and are happy with it
Imagine then...In a few days, another guy ask the same question, ofcourse you help him....and then, in a few days, another thread is started with similar questions. and so on...
Then you start thinking; hmmm, maybe we should make a sticky with this info, so that the noobs dont ask so many times, I will make it easy for them.
So there..you got a sticky with the topic, and alot of good answers (now you have become a more experienced user, uyou are getting good with the terms used here, you know what stuff means, like in.ex RUU, ROM, Hard-SPL etc..)
And again, you are happy to help ppl out, you start using the language used on this forum, you use the knowlege you have mastered in some degree.
And your sticky is full of wisdom and knowlege.
But...after 50 guys have asked the same question (in many diffrent ways, nice, begging, cursing, hateful and so on) you start thinking:
Dam, will those huys never learn to read? Hell, I have given them everything I know, the best way I can.
You are starting to become lazy with posting in your sticky, cause you have done so before, so many times...even on pm (private messages) ppl are asking for personal guidence, and they need it now (and your girlfriend is waiting in the bedroom, or dinner is ready, or you need to go to work, or you have damn much stuff you need to fix with the latest w/e, and are quite finished with that old ****, cause you have moved way past that stage long time ago )
And suddenly you find yourself writing something like I am writing now...

Well i dont wish to be this forum like any other "plx crack this phorumzz", i think its just as it should be.
besides, when i started flashing my htc devices, it took me 10 mins to find xda-dev's, and another 30 min to figure out what buttons to press to get the stuff i wanted to have.
so dont tell us its too difficult - if youre not smart enough its not our concern.
use google for other forums if youre not pleased with the offers in here.

I have a great idea. Now how about you learn how to programme and then write the required software and once you get it working and fully tested you will have to keep it updated and fix every issue within an hour. and once you prove the software is really as good as you said it would be you can donate $10 to yourself!

Ok so after i have seen many people asking about doing things like porting and how to add power menu options and lockscreens( includes me ), i wanted to ask you guys if you can start sharing things like adding power menu options and adding lockscreens here..how to edit settings.apk to show lockscreens option..how to edit mod version when is written in the apk itself.. things like that..im not asking for something wrong right ????

The problem, Bosina, is that people are always asking for guides that already exist here on the site. A search of xda will show you how to add am / pm toggle, lockscreens, power options, porting apps etc..

Hmm i see brother.... but i have seen some settings apk i have tried for the lockscreens that have the mod version there and i havent found out how to change it.. there are things that can be shared here..

Let me also add that sending a dev a request and only giving two options: tell me how or write a guide is not the way to request help. There is a 3rd and 4th option: walk me through it when you get the time (like I have done a lot) or don't help if you don't have the free time right now.
A dev works hard to pump out the best roms. They do not always have the time to walk away from their own project to fix someone elses.
I recently walked a "dev" through a port 100% from start to finish. That earned me a little line of thanks at the bottom of his OP and earned him a big arse line at the top of his OP stating that HE worked real hard to get the port bug free.... This ruins it for others, like yourself, when you ask for help.
Can I write you a guide and send you some files please?

I usually have no trouble teaching someone or sharing any knowledge I (might) have, but when people message me and want things but have no idea how or why something is, it's annoying.
I know that's a little vague, so let me make it clearer: if you are going to PM someone and ask them how to do something you damn well better make sure of the following
1) you have Google searched the issue for at least 9999 hours
---- (tip: try using "site:xda-developers.com" in google)
2) you have tried doing this yourself
3) you at least have some idea of how whatever you're asking about works
4) you aren't asking said person TO do it, but rather HOW
And Bosina (and everyone else), I know guides are useful and all... but anyone can follow a guide. You need to learn HOW this stuff works

ohh i see , thanks for that since i did that and i had no idea on what i was doing ..remember ? now that im a little into this, i know how hard you guys work for this..bro i go bed at 3 almost everyday just tryinbg to fix some frames in framwork ..damm i feel you jellette...sorry for those times i did that error and dammmmmmm, that he had to work hard to get port free ?? hmmm i wouldnt do that really...believe me..i always thank you for all you have done for the comunity and for me...

We are actually pretty lucky here in the Vibrant section, have you ever looked for a how to or source files in one of the other sections. The amount of sharing that goes on here is far greater than anywhere else on xda.

I was being sarcastic bosina. I would love to learn this stuff but theres no way I would come out and start asking people how to do it. Id learn 100% of everything from just research and reading myself. Take in part, my JIGs, I figured out how to make them through research and development and never asked anyone how to do it, and I only got ideas from KidDynamite on the fancy lanyards I use because I wanted a nice adjustable lanyard system, but had no clue what to use, and he being ex military suggested I use 550 Paracord and a cord lock... Techie type people like high quality full of fancy specs stuff like military grade 550 cord.

Ive noticed that same thing jellete, only the i9000 forum imo seems to match our prowess in that dept. For the US tho the Vibrant forums is #1 for sure.

ok i dont see why people are having such a hard time obtaining these serial codes i have done it 3 different time....u make up a a legit email one that you will never use go to microsoftdotcom go all the way to the buttom click contacts us choose the chat method click on product sales and general inquire or some like that its the first option.....chat box will open type in fake name that secondary email and just put that you bought a phone either craigslist or ebay and you need the serial code in order to create a live account they will ask for your name and number those can be fake use your ex's if you have to...they will generate a code and voila! there you go...not rocket science......to prove i have a code here if anyone wants it be the first one to reply to this....

lol i should lol...but naw u got me thinking.....i been a member of this site for years...from my first tmobile mda and counntless craigslist trades to get me a brand new hd2....i been downloading files from rooting g1's to unlocking hd7's n hd2's all the way to palm pres n pixies...i think its time to contribute a bit....so ill be opening a new thread and i hope its ok with the mods...were i can hopefully get serial codes for anyone who needs them....sooooo look out for that thread u guys!!!!

no really i hope you dont, MS has been very very good to so far, putting things like that in the public eye will only increase the chances of MS becoming a royal pain in the arse with things.

dont worry i woulnt dare...for two reasons...1)dont want some lawsuit my way lol 2) its free...so no reason why i should profit from it....just like my little side prodjects i do here at home....i post craigslist post up for anyone that wants to make a drive up to my house ill root their android device free of charge...yeah some actually donate 5 bucks here 10 there but other then that i dont ask for anythig...takes up 10 mins of my life that i was already planning on wasting on nothing so no worries on that
Please anyone can help in getting miui or any skinned ui with some inbuilt features. There are tons of close to stock roms.. but no skinned rom and all the those people stay away who just come here to give their so called gyaan that its android one device ..you should have gone with 5x. Please stay away...

If you are trying to port a skinned ui rom yourself people will help you, if you are indirectly demanding developers to make a skinned ui rom then no one will help you.

Who are you to tell people to stay away? You, who insist in post YET ANOTHER request fro something that noone really wants to do. Something that, apperently is very hard to do. Why start ANOTHER thread about it when there already exist SEVERAL threads you can read through and add to? If you want a skinned pone, buy a skinned phone! There ar tons of skinned phones available!

At any time ...or any word u felt that i am demanding....who the hell gave you right to decide which post is demanding or which post it requesting.... There are many users who like miui but most developers love stock experience ....so no miui is available and this post or this thread is a request to them... Not demanding....no one is demanding.... Its just a humble and kind request to them...plss

Soooo, let the developers keep their love for stock and try to get "all" those users that like MIUI to learn to become developers instead. Users like yourself. You may be many, but I'm pretty sure you still are a minority. Instead of trying to get people that have chosen the A1 for the specific reason that it is NOT a MIUI (or othe skin) to change it into exactly the thing they want to get away from, try turning to MIUI developers and encourage them to do what you want instead.

Some are there who just wanted a good dual camera setup which only a1 provided that. If u cant help you should keep your mouth closed and ignore the thread. Why dont u learn ignoring..hadnt u quoted me i would have ignored...actuallly al intelligent people ignore the those things which are not their type...id its not your type then just ignore it

And who are you to question me on this, its just i dont want those same ****ty answers like why you bought a1 instead of mix and i am on a1 bcoz i have financial problems else anyone would have gone with pixel or s9 or iphone. Money matters to me and its not easy to buy a phone just for skinned os and i bought this phone thinking the development of every type of rom would be easy but here we got a/b which hinders the devlopment for miui. Yeah i know its very hard to do but its not impossible

Even the roms have donate option...and dont say its donation something charity...like this the temple mosques have donation boxes... They make money also by providing these roms..what you think.official Roms like lineage os and other popular make no money...really think about this...even andeoid ia open source but we all know how much money google make.so saying it's free plsthink thousand times before saying this.. the devlopers who will miui available wont give me money....they make out of it

why did you bought this phone in the first place? if you like skinned phone you have other choices, but no so much of you "miui fans" bought MI A1 and then come here and ask fork ports.. buy 5x, or note 5 pro or anything else and dont complain here how u dont like stock. if you obviously bought wrong phone for you then go sell this one add some more money and buy something that will suit your needs, its just sad how you all come here, dont even bother to read or search previously posted topic that are same as you wishes and just opet new one.. learn to do something on your own or just buy things that will work for you out of the box, is it really that much hard???

Miui is so 2017 move on and have a look at the rom tread.
