does anyone know how to do this? i want to reset this to something else and i can't seem to figure out how to do this and it's really annoying me. i can delete my gmail inbox perfectly fine (hold down stylus and select delete) but for some reason it won't let me do that to my outlook or my hotmail.
>.> don't tell me i have to do a hard reset just to erase those...
To delete your hotmail inbox, you have to remove your Windows Live ID from messenger. (I think it's called switch Live ID)
You can't delete the default outlook inbox, it for when you synch with outlook (even if you don't have it)
Outlook mailbox is deleted (changed) through activesync I believe.
I would like to delete this also, I use SPB Mobile Shell and when I hit the e-mail icson it sends me to the outlook tab which I never use.
where exactly in activesync it that option to remove outlook? i cant find it

I would like to know that as well! The outlook e-mail part always annoys me.
There is a way to remove the unused "outlook" account from the messages menu, but that can introduce some bugs (notifications gone etc), but I think it worked with some people. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368812
The Hotmail account can be deleted as described above. Delete your windows live account and set it up again without syncing your emails.
I've set up two email accounts, an AOL and one in Outlook (work one).
Under options, it gives me the option to "delete" the AOL one but I want to delete the Outlook inbox and there's no option for that.
any ideas?
Go into Activesync, then munu, options select the account and delete.
perfect!
thanks
I too am trying to delete the standard outlook account on my phone.
I've done as detailed above but I still have outllok showing up on my home screen (running wm6.5)
How can I remove it from the list so only my other 3 email account are there??
Cheers in advance
No wait, a softrest and she's a good'un.

Cool!
Based on the feedback I just don't know if I have the balls to do it )
=> Active Sync....
Are we talking about the Outlook exchange account? Go to Active Sync, delete the account in question there, and it's also gone from your email accounts.

Hi,
I don't know what I did but the outlook mailaccount isn't shown anymore in the mailtab. I tried deleting the active-sync partnership and adding it again but that didn't change anything.
Is there any option to hide the outlook account?
cheers,
Neo
Hi,
I use Intellisync to synchronise my HD2 with GroupWise at work. IntelliSync synchronizes e-mail, calendar, tasks and notes.
IntelliSync has to be installed seperately on the phone. It synchronizes on it's own and puts the synchronised e-mail in the main Outlook account on the phone.
HTC sense notices that e-mail is received, as it shows the unread e-mail count next to the little envelope in the sliding bar. However, it does not understand that an e-mail account is active and asks me to configure one.
After i configured other accounts it still does not process the Outlook account. I can not configure the Outlook account with false data, intellisync removes the configuration options.
Does anyone have a tip on how to get sense to process the Outlook account aswell? I take it sense has to store which accounts are configured somewhere in the registry. Perhaps Outlook can be added manually?

Help on this issue is very much appreciated? I have the same problem and it would significantly help to use the sense mail app for the most important mail account... .
I couldn't find much info concerning the email accounts within the whole registry. Only at a single location, which should mean:
1) last synced account - here Outlook is not recognized
2) The number of unread messages - here outlook is included.
Here are the registry details:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\State\Messages\OtherEmail\Unread]
"Text"="Web.de (36)
Google (2)"
"Count"=dword:00000026
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\State\Messages\sync]
"Account Name"="ActiveSync"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\State\Messages\sync\Unread]
"Text"="Outlook-E-Mail (18)"
"Count"=dword:00000012
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\State\Messages\TotalEmail]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\State\Messages\TotalEmail\Unread]
"Count"=dword:00000038
Does anybody know where the sense / vanilla / HTC mail application gets it's info where to look for emails? The "regular" messaging client (tmail.exe) has access to the outlook folder where the vanilla / HTC / sense application has not.

As configuration via PPC does not work I got another idea which I couldn't try out so far:
- Do an initial sync of email data via active sync by pairing PC and HD2 (be carefull as this might result in double entries, so have your inbox/sent/draft folder pretty empty and do not sync calendar, contacts, tasks etc)
- After this outlook mails should be visable with sense mail app (somebody showed me!)
- Use intellysnc again (probably with the option to overwrite mobile data with server data)
- check whtether sense is still seeing outlook mails
- don't forget to remove the active synce settings in PC active sync to prevent double syncs in the future
I cannot test this by my own during the next 2 weeks until I can connect to my PC again. Feedback would be nice.
Another question: What about the sense calender App. I have many entries where the sense calender App does only show title/time/date, but no detailed infos like participants, note etxt etc. Any solution for this?
