does anyone know how to do this? i want to reset this to something else and i can't seem to figure out how to do this and it's really annoying me. i can delete my gmail inbox perfectly fine (hold down stylus and select delete) but for some reason it won't let me do that to my outlook or my hotmail.
>.> don't tell me i have to do a hard reset just to erase those...
To delete your hotmail inbox, you have to remove your Windows Live ID from messenger. (I think it's called switch Live ID)
You can't delete the default outlook inbox, it for when you synch with outlook (even if you don't have it)
Outlook mailbox is deleted (changed) through activesync I believe.
I would like to delete this also, I use SPB Mobile Shell and when I hit the e-mail icson it sends me to the outlook tab which I never use.
where exactly in activesync it that option to remove outlook? i cant find it

I would like to know that as well! The outlook e-mail part always annoys me.
There is a way to remove the unused "outlook" account from the messages menu, but that can introduce some bugs (notifications gone etc), but I think it worked with some people. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368812
The Hotmail account can be deleted as described above. Delete your windows live account and set it up again without syncing your emails.

I made the terrible mistake of pressing the mail icon on the MSN menu of my new JAMin- it has now created a new account under messaging called Hotmail. I dont have and never will have a hotmail account, but I cant for the life of me find how to delete the account permanently. Also I dont sync my Outlook e-mail account since I use Thunderbird on the PC. Does anyone know how to delete the Outlook e-mail account in WM 5?
go to programs and select msn,
then under options select new user. this will log you out and should remove the hotmail folder.
hope it works for you
thanks!
that worked! still got outlook e-mail mithering me but ne'er mind
i am pretty sure the outlook one cannot be erased. glad it worked for you. i did the same thing last sunday and thought i was going to have to hard reset the phone to get rid of the hotmail folder!
Mr Gates is a tenacious f****er! Thanks for your help.
Hi,
I have a problem that i want to sync the email with Outlook to my Hermes. But normally i read the email in my phone i will delete it, and it will delete in outlook also.

I'm wondering if it's possible to remove outlook from the email tab of TF3D.
I never use it, I use GMail for my email, so it just takes up space, and irritates me that it doesn't remember gmail as default after soft reset.
Any ideas?
Do you mean that you've set it up, and now want to remove it...? if that's the case, you can remove it when connected to your PC using the WM Device Centre...
Honestly can't remember where, but it's there....
i think he means the fact that there are 2 emails to chose from in the tf3d email tab. top one is the outlook one and the 2nd is the gmail one
he is not using the outlook..
anyway i have the exact same issue..restarting tf3d or phone resets to the default (outlook). so you have to manually select gmail afterwards
it takes one click but it can be annoying when you'r in a hurry
You can solve it by deselecting to synchronize your email with outlook in activesync.
After you have done that just remove the oulook email account and it will not come back anymore.

I had the same issue. Deselecting the syncronization removed the icon from the eMail page, all other settings I left unchanged.
Well, my problem is exactly the opposite. My outlook icon disappeared and I found no way to put it back there, even removing and recreating the outlook account...
@[email protected]
weird but it worked...
Cheers guys, worked like a charm.
I still dont see how i can delete it on the X1..i dont even have outlook intalled on my PC.
So i cant deselect synchronizing with outlook because i dont even have it..so how do i get rid of it?
Hi all,
I've been digging around the help files and just couldn't find something (if it's there, please please please let me know where).
what I'm trying to do is synch my MS Outlook contacts with my N1 *without* pushing it all to a GMail account first. Just a direct synch, like i always could do with my SE and WinMo devices...
Any ideas?
I'm afraid that the only option is pushing it all to your Gmail. What I did was erase all of my gmail contacts and use a free, beta program called GoContactSync (it does not work all to well, but it got the job done eventually) to sync my tidily ordered and up to date outlook contacts. You can download it from here: http://www.webgear.co.nz/Products/GOContactSync.aspx
Thanks!! I'll give that a try.
There is an option when you setup the exchange account to have it sync contacts as well. That worked just fine for me.

Well yes, but I have a work exchange account for business contacts, and my own personal Windows addressbook. I usually keep them separate, and my SE and WinMo devices synch their contacts with my personal list.
open outlook:
file> import and export>export to a file> comma separated values (windows).
save file on desktop, upload to gmail.
delete whatever you want, tag as work/ personal etc. then sync through gmail.
I also tried Companionlink (it has a 14-day trial) and that did the trick.
Title pretty much explains!
With facebook and secondary email accounts, under settings you can disable them from importing contacts into WP7's contact area... but with the main Windows Live ID you use to activate the phone, there's no tick box to disable the importing of messenger contacts.
Now my phonebook has like 300 entries of people who don't even have phone numbers... help?! Please!
Yeah! I've got the solution for you, i run into this problem as soon as i got my activation code and got my hotmail account up and running, all you got to do is go to your mail account and delete all the contacts in the contacts page then re-sync your live account from your phone and *bam* unwanted contacts are gone!

Then all your contacts store in Hotmail are gone?
I have just posted this against another similar post, would it work?
I posted this elsewhere and didnt get any real work arounds.....
(I returned my OE WP7 and returned to HD2 on WM6.5).
However, just a thought.....
MyPhone is only for WM6.5 but using ActiveSync you can sync mail, contacts, calendar & tasks with Outlook. I read on the Microsoft forum that you can download Hotmail Contacts to Outlook, and export from Outlook to Hotmail.
If I were to return to WP7, which no doubt I will do:
Contacts:
I would Sync WM6.5 with Outlook, then upload them to the Hotmail account I would be using on WP7. I remember (and may stand corrected) that when you register the Hotmail account on the device, the Contacts are automatically downloaded.
WM6.5 using Windows Live allows you to download Hotmail contacts to my phone, so I guess they would also sync.
Doesnt cure my original issue that I wanted my Phone and Hotmail contacts seperate. I may have to create an additional Hotmail account for that?
Calendar:
On my version of Outlook, I can have two calendars showing - one for the PC which is synced to my phone and one which is my Hotmail. I havent found a way to automatically sync them, but its easy tp drag an appointment from say my PC calendar to Hotmail and therefor on to WP7.
Regarding texts, theres no way like MyPhopne, just copy what you can to your sim card I am afraid.
Does that sound like it might work?
