Hi Everyone,
I have maybe found a way to sync a qtek with Windows Vista.
I've made a small documentation.
If you wanna give a try and let me know if it works for you !
Greetings!

Sync with Vista
Em.... with my vista (build 5600) the qtek syncs easyly??? I don't understand te post... unless your running an older version, bevore the 5384 build??
Not mine !
It syncs only Music files
I have found this tips :
http://desigeek.com/weblog/amit/archive/2006/09/19/Syncing-your-mobile-with-Vista-RC1-with-WMDC.aspx
Works better than mine!
If you installed RC1 from fresh, and not updated beta 2, then WMDC is not installed, has not yet been released as there are bugs, see this page for details.

It IS possible to sync wm5 devices with Windows Vista as describes in http://desigeek.com/weblog/amit/archive/2006/09/19/Syncing-your-mobile-with-Vista-RC1-with-WMDC.aspx (it works for me).
BUT! Did anybody have successfull tries to update ROM from Vista? I can't do it by standart way, can't do it with MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe (got 'ERROR 150 ROM UPGRADE UTILITY ERROR'), can't do it with mtty (can't choose USB, only COM). Is it avaliable another way to do ROM upgrade?
Hello!
I have installed windows Vista RC2 (x86 and built 5744) and I have a HTC Universal PPC Phone Edition.
I'm having problems installing Windows Mobile Device Center.
I've downloaded the drvupdate-x86.exe and installed it (with firewall off) and WMDC doesnt install. Only appears on installed programs Windows Mobile Device Center Driver Update.
Then, Installed wmupdate.msi and WMDC is installed.
The problem is that when I try to open the program (either from control panel icon and wmdc.exe on c:\windows\WindowsMobile\wmdc.exe) appears an error message (with debug) saying the program must close!
I don't know what else to do! I've the same problem since RC1 (5600).
PLEASE HELP!

Hi,
i just paid for imei-check and im not running xp any more im running vista, hence no active sync i use mobile device center (part of vista)
as a result C3v1Unlock.exe cant see my connected XDA orbit device.
any ideas of a workaround for this ? other than going to an xp machine to do it?
Thank You
Update :
I go ttit to work by disabling windows firewall, it connects to my device now and reboots it, but then it says
"this unlocker works for Artemis devices only. Aborting"
any ideas ?
Thanks

the 4.2 version is incompatible with windows Vista, try the new 4.5 beta.
For your information Windiows Vista have built in the active sync module (look the mobile connection probram in side bar).
no, not found in Vista, I'll try the V2 probram of imei.check. This program ask me to attend if I'm Vista user (attend for 2 minutes for Vista install program), but I've attend for 5 minutes and my P3300 screen still blank!
I used imei check with vista and it worked perfectly first time - did you set a connection and sync the orbit with windows before you tried?
Anybody had problems using Activesync (4.2 & 4.5 beta) in XP x64?
The hermes fails to install and Activesync then trashed my OS.
Thanks.
K
Works fine for me with 4.5 Beta. Haven't even broken the EULA seal on the CD that came with the Jasjam.
Me tooo.. never opened the cd.. downloaded off the ms site.. I had to make an xp 64 ini file to use it as a modem.. I posted that in another thread..
I see that most people here are using it fine. Anybody having issues?
Might be a USB issue...I don't know.
K
Strange thing is that it works in a XP32 install on the same machine. Still won't work on clean x64 install.
Disabled Advanced Network Functionality in connection settings and it works fine.

Could some1 explain me how the sync procedure works in Vista?
Do I need to install any software or is the sync sw already included in Vista?
I have downloaded the new version of AS for Vista, at least I think.... And now I have the usual AS icon in the taskbar, but if I plug in the device nothing happens. I have to go into Control panel and then run Mobile something (sorry I am writing from the office so dont remebmer) to have Vista connect succesfully with the device.
Thanks

this is exactly what I installed: mobile device center 6.1
problem is that while with xp+active sync it was enough to connect the devoce to the usb and sync would start automatically, now after connecting I have to run the device center manually
try and get the latest version of wmdc, see if it helps
Try this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...f1-e46a-4a5f-a791-09f07aaa1914&displaylang=en
Running WMDC 6.1 on Win7 if I setup a partnership I get a blank dialog pop up whenever I connect the device, like it was supposed to be an error message that somebody forgot to put in. This comes up even if nothing is selected to sync.
any help?
Edit: I found a solution. Its all because of Microsoft Office 2010, I'd revert to office 2007. Solved.
Same for me, Win 7 and nothing ticked to sync.
I've Windows Mobile 6 on the device and WMDC 6.1 on the laptop.
Pls, help!
Same as you
very annoy
Windows 7
Windows Mobile 6.1 original
I've tried to reformat my Laptop and flash the new rom...
unfortunately, the problem still there...sigh...
