Hiding/Disabling The Recently Opened Programs Bar? - Wing, P4350 General

I tried searching for other posts about this, but I didn't find anything helpful. Maybe because I didn't really know what to search for. When you click the start button, the menu comes down and above the menu are icons of programs you've recently opened. Is there any way to get rid of that? It does nothing but take up room. If I want to open those programs again, I can find some of them on the start menu or the application launcher on my today screen.
Thanks in advance.

Messaging; missing body, list of msgs

Hi All,
I've tried various search strings looking for an answer to my issue but found nothing related. Anyone else have an intermittent problem whereby pressing softkey for "Messaging" yields no body or list, only a title bar and softkey menu as normal? When it occurs, I just see the Today Screen where either the message contents or list of messages should be displayed. After some fumbling and clicking around I can usually get the content/list to appear. I only noticed this problem when I first loaded summiter's ROM but now I have the official Cingular ROM loaded and problem still exists.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or solutions.
can you access the messaging if you go through the start menu or do you have the same problem there??
is your soft key mapped right to the messaging link?
softkey mapped
Thanks for response, yes, softkey is mapped; as I mentioned earlier, when you launch messaging, I get only the top and bottom elements of the program (Title, New, Menu) but the middle content (message, list of) is missing)--you see only the Today Screen in foreground.
It happened to me as well once I started to force 'exit' on all the apps instead of just minimizing them. Part of Pocket Plus close button.
I'm not sure if this is the same case as you are experiencing but it looks like after the Messaging program is completely terminating, the softkey cannot launch the complete program. I was still able to launch it from the start menu with no problems (sounds very strange, I know).
The way I recovered from that is to put the "Messaging" program in the exception list of the close program; this way it stays in memory and I get the messaging complete program every time I press the softkey now.
I *Hope* that helps...
maybe???
interesting thought... well, i don't use that program BUT i am using smartkey and that likely shares the same process SO i will try that from now on after soft-reset and report back...
Thanks for the tip! It's definitely one of those hard to track down the cause kind of issues, how did you come about that as a solution?

PocketNAV without stuff in upper-right?

Hello all!
Sorry if this was asked earlier; didn't find anything like it in the search.
Basically, I really like PocketNAV's functionality; I'd just like it to be invisible unless I call it (via mapped button). Is there any way to get it to display nothing in the upper-right? If I uncheck everything it still has a grey bar in the upper-right (with the time) that blocks my icons. Any way to remove this, or other program just like PocketNAV that doesn't have that problem? Thanks!
Thank you,
Michael
I use SpbPocketPlus and it doesn't put anything in the upper right corner, though that's where you go to use it. For awhile I thought it was broken and then I figured out you have to actually press and hold in order to get it to display the drop down menu. Might be just what you're looking for.

HTC Home Problem

HTC Home Problem
In my start menu, my Programs button opens up the program list just fine... But in my program launcher, I have one button dedicated to open up the programs list... but just recently that button just became dead. How can I fix it?
Sorry, edit is acting weird.
By dead button, I mean dead link, nothing opens up.
That's actually happened to me a few times. Only thing I found to fix it was uninstall and then reinstall HTC Home.
Thanks, I'll try that out.
With sooo many visitors here, i thought i would get a reply sooner.

Task Manager problem

Hi all,
Previously I owed a HTC touch 3g phone which uses the touch flow 2d I think, in which when I am surfing in opera, I am able to press the start button that will take me to the today screen. When I click on the quick menu I would still be able to see opera running.
I've just switched to the TD2, and when I click on the start button, It now brings me to the program list, which is fine, but the quick menu doesn't show opera running anymore, its as if It's closed.
Even on the task manager, it shows that opera is not running anymore.
This is crucial to me, as I often use the quick menu to navigate from running apps to apps.
I've searched the forum and couldn't find a solution, any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks!
Oh bummer, can someone at least point me to a right page, if this is a redundant question? I really could not find a solution and its killing.
many thanks!
I did a quick search in the registry and found that:
HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\System\Opera9.exe
I simply renamed "Opera9.exe" to "Opera9.exe_" and did a soft reset.
Now Opera is visible in the task list.
Have Fun.
Awesome! It works now..
Thanks a bunch!

Apps List Button

Hi,
I have installed Cyanogen on my Tattoo, and to access to the apps list i used the middle button on three shortcuts (on the bottom of the screen).
But i replaced these shortcut by another and now i dont know how to go to the apps list (i am not talking of the apps list in settings).
Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance.
Click menu then add then activities and find apps launcher or something like that, click on it. That will get it to your homescreen then take that and move it to your dock
