Hi i have installed some roms but i can't find where is the "key lock". For example the rom my green edition 6.1 has not in the desktop a key lock virtual button. What can i do? And something else. My prophet is an O2 Germany device. So every time i start the device a bootscreen with the O2 signal appears on the screen. Is it possible to change the bootlogo? And how?
Please guys tell me how to make a key lock because i put the device in a leather case and always the buttons are pressed so the device makes calls... It's problem.
device lock
Start/Settings/Personal/Today/Items and tick "device lock" with the stylus. The stylus is in the top right corner.

You can either use S2U2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381588
Or, in "Start->Settings->Today" you can put the today lock item on the today screen. Then, you just need to tap on that to lock the screen.
Ok guys thank you a lot. Your help was useful. Now does anyone know how to change the bootscreen from "O2" logo -> HTC logo or something else?

I have been searching around the internet looking for a program that will lock the touch screen while talking on the phone and give you a lock icon when not using the phone that can be unlocked by hitting the icon again. Is there a program out there like this? Also these forums have been great and a ton of help in getting my new HTC-PPC6800 running like a champ!
prefer is the program intergrated in my HTC tabs. Hope you all know something I don't!
just hit the power button on the side of the phone, or you can lock it with the lock in today. just go to start, today, lock.

The Today lock is ok but when you click to unlock it you go to another screen and confirm your unlock. Also it would be more convenient if it was a part of the HTC homeplug in tab.
search for "onlock"
new slide2lock version works good. just put a shortcut to it on your screen. with one tap it's locked.

Hi
Looked at S2U2 for a day or so. I have read the file son thier site but cannot figure this out.
What I want is to be able to press a key and invoke the lock like you can with any conventional phone. With S2U2 it seems you have to go to programs, and launch S2U2. Can it not be assigned to one of the 4 quick keys ?
Also can anyone explain the setting "lock when the device wakes up" ? Why would you want to lock the
device when it wakes up ? also "Lock when screen is blank" ? not sure what that means, afaics, my HD screen has never been blank.
thanks for any help

lock when device wakes up is the best option.

Hi kidnamedAlbert
What exactly does this option mean, I find it very confusing. Surely when "device wakes up", I (the user) has done something to wake it up, so therefore I want to use it - not lock it. This option confuses me or Am I missing something here?
Hey,
What does it do?
Disables "Align Screen"
Motive:
While playing games with my HTC Mogul I've stumbled upon an annoying thing, whenever you press the middle D-PAD button + Message Button, the "align screen" window pops up and won't go away until you complete the alignment process. This sucks considering I never really need to align my screen and I do need those buttons to play comfortably.
Anyhow, I couldn't find any other working solutions so I coded it myself.
I used some pretty advanced hooking techniques and I'm pretty sure this will work on every device with no tailoring. I'd appreciate any feedback stating what device you tested it on.
Instructions:
1. Install the cab.
2. Run "disCali" form Start Menu > Programs, this will disable the align screen function from your entire device until soft-rest (even from the control panel).
3. Run it again and it will restore everything back to normal.
hope you'll find this useful,
amit
Thank you thank you thank you testing right now will let you know

This app has nothing to do with preventing the after-boot welcome "align screen", it's meant to prevent the hot-key "align screen" pop up during every day use of the device.

OOOps my bad
thought you wanted to stop the align screen... as in my device the only time i get align screen is after hard reset....
keep up the good work dude......
i really need a disCali version which doesnt show the message to call it at startup. or one which only shows the "re-enabled" message, but did not inform about disabling.
If you could make my wish come true, i would be really thankful!
thanks anyway for this useful tool!
Andreas
Thank you!
This annoyance is now finally gone.
Too many times I've pulled my phone out of my pocket with an "align screen" staring at me.
Maybe with normal locking this can't happen but I'm using S2U2.
very useful!
thanks amp3r!
now i can assign the volume buttons and center dpad button in Final Burn on my Opal and play it without the annoying Align Screen.

thanks for this beautiful innovation.........u actually went to think Outside the Box to achieve this..........I am stucked in here....I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 which refuses to align screen after a hard reset. How do i implement this solution of urs to try and see if it would sove the problem??I have tried the remote pingy thing,it bypasses the Align screen but my fone becomes useless.....Nothing on the screen works including the key board...I presive this would be a better solution provided the Aligning of the screen is taken care of in the File you have written and uploaded
Hi all,
Just upgraded ROM to 1.48, but now I have lost the screen lock when you turn the device on! I dont want the phone doing random things in my pocket if a button is pressed..

Sorry mate - no answer for you, but a question.
I'm about to upgrade to 1.48. Does that get rid of the auto lock for everyone then, or is it maybe a problem that you're having and others aren't? It's actually something that would make me think twice about upgrading!

What do you mean you lost it ?? Just press the rightmost end button hard and you have a menu:
Power off
Lock Device
Set vibrate
Terminate Data Connection
This is default in rom [email protected]@@
You need to press & hold now. Before, you needed only to press it.
Let me get this straight...
If you press the end call button (just briefly) to put the phone in standby, when you press it again, do you get the lock screen??
Ahh that sucks, I want the old setup back. Any ideas?
I've just finished installing 1.48, and it works exactly the same as it previously did (for me).

Start reading from this page
Start, then press "Lock" appkey in bottom left corner.
After that all ok. End call button now locks the phone.
I've had the same problem. What was suggested by locking the screen from the Start menu did fix the problem. This has happened a couple of times since installing the 1.48 rom.
I also noticed that I was having a problem where I couldn't open e-mails from the touch flo interface. When I clicked on a message, it would just push down and come back up but not open the message in outlook. This problem was resolved when I fixed the lock screen....has anyone else experienced this as well?
just install BsB Tweaks 1.2 and enable this option!
btw. this is a very usefull option

I can confirm that this exact thing happened for me. I couldn't open an email, so I locked it from the start menu, unlocked it, and could immediately open the email.

I had the same issue and installing net3.5 or bsb did not fix it. I too pushed start then the soft key "lock" (in lower left corner of screen) and both my email and lock issue was fixed. BUT it came back two times today, I think it had to do when I installed a new program, not every time, but I fixed it the same way. This has to be a bug.

Yes this is an additional option. You can still press end button slightly ( or just lightly tap it ) and the screen will lock ( you will see the default "slide" on top ). This no need any tweak and is a default feature in the 1.48 rom

And, as I answered before. This isn't working for me.
I have to hold the end button, then select "Lock screen".
Before the upgrade in ROM, I could just tap the end button - now that no longer works. I have to hold it, then select "Lock Screen".

I think he means that when you press the end button the screen turns off. I know it's not actually locking the device, but the screen is off.
From my experience, the start menu lock resets something and allows the lock screen to work. This will work until the phone is restarted, which is when the problem is caused.
To fix this problem and get back the auto lock option....do the following:
with any registry editing software:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Control Panel
Keybd
DefaultKeyLock --------> change value to 1

Ok, sadly, the start, then lock workround isn't working for me. Just pressing the end key, turns off the screen, but doesn't lock it any longer. I'm trying to figure out how to get the .dll into the windows folder (as advised from the other thread). But I can't seem to do it. I can move the .dll file onto the handset, but then can't see it to move it to the windows folder. And I can't put it directly into the windows folder on the handset, as I can't see it from my desktop.
Activating "Auto Lock" from within BsB Tweaks seems to have sorted the issue for me
I looked and searched (a few forums also) and cant find an answer. I have a TMOUS HD2 with their new ROM freshly installed (yesterday) and when I get a text message it will show the message but the only option I have is to "Hide" it. I tried clicking on it and everywhere else but it wont open the message unless I go to "Messages" so is there a reg edit I can do to get it to show "open" instead of hide...Thx...Tj
P.S. I would rather not install any programs but would like to work with what the phone has.
Hmm am I the only one with this problem?
no this isn't exactly a problem. This is a feature that is on the phone where if your at your lock screen or your display screen iss hut off thats what shows when you get to the lock screen. It's so you can view your text and who it's from before you unlock your phone and go into their threaded message.
I'm sure there is a way to disable it via reg but not sure.

OK but I do not have the screen locked. I can see the message and who its from but to open or reply I have to go to messages because the only option is to "hide" it...Tj
as with all things it can glitch. if you have your lock screen disabled but then you hit your right button for end call to turn off the display then touch another button to bring it back it could possible bring that up. I will see if I can find someone that knows the answer.
