Does anyone know of a way to make it so the first letter of a sentence in an SMS message doesn't automatically capitalize? I have the "Capitalize first letter of sentence" box unchecked in the Input settings, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.
further searching via google revealed that this question has been asked other times. sorry! feel free to close/delete/whatever this thread.

I suddenly have to do it without contacts completion in the Messaging program.
Before, I could just type the first 3+ letters of a contact name on the 'To:' line in email/sms/mms/ messages and a pick list came up showing the corresponding contact(s) to pick.
That neat pick list doesn't come up anymore.... not even after a soft reset.
There still is the 'Check names' option in the menu, which also comes up with the appropriate name when entering only a few 'To:' letters, but the pick list is much more efficient ofcourse.
Note: I'm using the 2.00.04 PV PRO Crossbow ROM.
Anyone the solution?
Thanks!!
There...
....already found the solution.
Because every Crossbow version still has this 'Suggestion words when entering text' issue, I set 'suggest after X words' to the maximum of 7 letters, so that when I accidentally forgot to disable the suggesting (when Crossbow's bug enabled it again after a soft reset) the suggesting wouldn't come up by typing short words.
The thing is that, even when the entire suggesting is disabled, the number of letters you set up for 'suggest after X words' still affects the number of letters you need to enter on the 'To:' line in a new message before you see the mentioned pick list.
So, solved.
Hi,
can someone help med to find the place where i switch on the "search names in contact list" when im go to sms or dialer. I know i saw it once but cant remember.
It was so easy to just write the name in the dialer and the contact just popup.. same in the sms function.

all people
click on "all people" there is search function right on top(with a magnifying glass) to search for contacts, from where you can send call, sms, email so on
or simply type the contacts name in the "to" field of new sms you will get their contact number
if that did not help please be more specific in your request
no , not that kind of search. But it was a good tips.
When go into "New SMS", the coursor start at "TO:" from there i can( or could) i start typing names and it find matchings from the phonebook. Or when i got the dailer up, i did'nt need to know the number, i just start to type the name and it find matching names from the phone book.
I know that i saw it somewhere in the settings, but cant find it again. Or have Dutty Rom not that function maybe.
/M
not sure it works like that in SMS but if you start to type a name then use menue "check names" option it will list all that match.
in phone dialler it seems to check the list automatically but i think it is just the recently dialled numbers?
Yes, you found it, so simple.. wonder how i get the "Check Name" to be check all the time, not only for that sms.
Normally, it should automatically check Names if you begin typing in the "TO:" field.
Or am I wrong?
not on my Dutty 3.9 turbo. I know that on the original rom it was like that.
Weird, my 3.8 Dutty does still have this feature....
Sorry I can't help you
I have seen few posts about this issue in the past, but couldn’t search them since search function is not working at the moment. So I thought of posting it as a separate thread for those who have this problem, after i stumbled upon how to do this by accident.
You can do it in the built in dialer, but it involves two steps: first you have to search by typing the first few characters of the first name (unfortunately I didn’t find a way to get partial matches or search for second name), then click the drop down arrow icon to the right of the contact name, select the contact again from the drop down list, this will give you another small popup window to choose which number to call (Home, Office etc..).
Nice tip. Didnt know that!
With the recent OS releases for the Epic, we've lost functionality to auto-reject calls or send them straight to voicemail. I searched here, but didn't find much. With all the "political survey" calls I've been getting lately, I figured there's got to be some way to do this, and for free.
There is.
First, you'll need "Any Cut" from the market. Create a "new shortcut" and then select "activity". Look for an activity called "call settings". Most likely there'll be two. The first one worked on my phone, I had to pick the second on my wife's phone, so this is a bit of a trial and error process. The one you want, when clicked, will give you a screen that has "All Calls" at the top.
For whatever reason, this is the menu that's hidden in the OS. It's there, but you just can't get to it...or at least I didn't find a way. At any rate, click on "all calls" and look for the "auto reject" selection, which is the second one. You'll have to click on "enable auto reject". Then you can start entering numbers into the "auto reject list". Hit the menu button to add numbers. The format for the numbers doesn't contain dashes, so for 123-456-7890, you'd enter 1234567890.
So, now when a number calls you, your device won't ring, you'll get a momentary dialog box that tells you a call was auto-rejected and they get sent straight to voicemail.
Enjoy!

For those who don't use google voice, this is great! Thanks!
I use mr number in play store. Its free and easy to setup. You can also set to block text.
If you don't want to install Mr. Number due to bloat of that particular app, then you can try the below paid app if rooted.

You can also achieve the same thing by logging into your account on Sprint website.
Go to "My preferences" tab and on the bottom in the section "Limits and permissions" you'll find Block Voice, Block Texts etc.

This is what I did when I got sick of my cable co.'s sales calls. It works well. That's a relief too because when I tried this feature before (on a different rom/radio, maybe that affected it?) it wouldn't allow any calls in or out while on roaming when used. But now it's fine.
