Convenient USB Cables [changed from USB Bracelet] - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Accessories

Does anybody know where I can find a USB cable for my Kaiser that is in the form of a bracelet? I'm tired of being caught without a USB cable when I need it most.
I've found these USB flash drives, but nothing that's just the cable, with mini-usb on one end.

I like this

How about one of these bad boys? Sounds like a much more useful and dare I say it, less pooffee solution.

If you get one, let me know how it goes. I'd be interested.
It's a phone charm, Micro SD card reader and mini usb leader all in one.
V

That's arguably just as poofey. If I went that direction I'd probably pick up this guy instead, it looks a little less bulky.

Granted, it doesn't have the card reader, but why do I need that when I have my phone?

very interesting, this would come in handy while i am at work and i dont wanna carry an extra USB cable around....

This one would probably also work, and dosen't look really bulky.

Energizer EnergiStick AP650

Hi guys
just seen this:
http://www.energizerpowerpacks.com/ph/products/ap650/
thought it may be of use to anyone, i may buy it for my desire z just to keep it topped up towards the end of the day or if i am gonna make a long call, save battery life when im browsing the web for long periods of time
i like he idea of the mugen 1800 battery and the 3500 with the added backplate but i like the original battery and i dont like the idea of the extra bulk all the time with the larger backplate.
with the portable charger i can use it as emergency charge or when i know im gonna use it for a long time on the net, when its in my hands i dont see a problem with it on the back of the phone.
i know it says mini usb on the webpage but its a typo... look at the gallery and you will see its a micro usb for our phones.
just hope this helps people who are struggling to use the phone for a full day
thank me if you like.. i wont complain lol!!

Looks like the micro usb is oriented the wrong way to work with the G2.
ohhh no wayyy... just my luck... cheers for pointing that out, thats dissapointing
good job i havnt brought one....
Thanks mate
could always get this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Portable-Batt...378?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19c3f55422
but its not as well made and i wouldnt trust it lol
Looks retardedly bulky.
And as the other poster said, the USB port is oriented upside down compared to what the G2/DZ has.
or you can get the zagg.... for nearly 100$ haha, I know i got one for 50% off though like 5 months ago? or more. hardly even use it.
http://www.zagg.com/accessories/zaggsparq.php
I just got myself an energizer portable charger that works with generic usb devices. It looks like a slim rectangle with a female mini usb on one side (to charge) and a female USB on the other to plug whatever usb you want to it. That might work better I think
Not this one, but the same idea as it:
http://www.energizerpowerpacks.com/ph/products/xp1000/
yeah i know the one you mean
its a damn shame the other one wouldnt fit lol,
i might buy one maybe with some work i could pull it apart and turn the micro usb plug upside down on the energi stick then it would fit
ill have a go and post back with pictures in a few days just incase anyone is interested
Thanks to everyone that pointed it out though

Long standalone MicroUSB connector for DIY dock?

Does anyone sell a long MicroUSB adapter kit for DIY docking stations?
Something that can be assembled onto a fiberglass or wood dock.
As in, a connector that doesn't have the molded end with cable already attached.
But wht exacty u need? Micro/mini usb cable? Usb male/female pin/plug? Give some mor details.
HD2 HYPERDROID EXTREME EDITION V6.0.1 @ FIKERT KERNAL.
Most micro USB connectors come apart pretty easily.
There are usually 3 tack solder contacts on one side and 2 on the other.
Get yourself a few $3 cables and a razor blade to try out.
You can strip the shells off, route a hole in your stand and insert it.
I think by "long" microUSB he mean really those longer ones, with ~16 additional pins, like one we can find in Nook Tablet.

I disagree, he wants to make his own dock, and needs something a bit longer that will be easier to mount. I have thought about the same thing myself
I think one of these below should do the trick, as they can be taken apart, but obviously, you'll have to do your own soldering. It's a bit tricky, even with a 0.5mm pencil tip iron.

Good luck!
you might want to check out parts sites. I did a quick search on mouser.com for micro usb and under interconnects i selected "USB connectors" you can see a picture of most of the options and even go with micro 3.0 if its better for you
Whoops, I forgot about this thread.
Thanks for all the great suggestions so far!
Yeah, I want the longer USB. Because right now, I have an OEM Samsung car dock that I use.
But when I have my phone in a TPU case, the USB isn't long enough anymore to properly insert all the way into the phone. Because the TPU case puts the phone about 1/4" further from the USB.
I like the idea of stipping a three dollar USB cable.
I think this will be a long term project that I'll work on here and there.
Looking into this myself but for a different reason. I can't find what I want but I did order two of these and I reckon they will work perfectly for you.

I think that's also Newark in the US. Probably the same part number there. There is at least an extra 5mm there to get you past the TPU case.

Usb extension cable.

I've been thinking about getting a cable to extend my N7 from the wall. I can't very well use the charging cable that came with the tablet because it's so terribly short, I was wondering, if I got some kind of Usb extension cable, would it affect my device. I can handle it charging a little slower, but I don't wanna ruin the battery or anything else. All help and any flaming is welcome, as this is kinda a nooby question. Thanks, dudes.
monoprice.com
best place to get inexpensive cables
Sorry for the quick reply there. Basically you wanna get one of these. http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10303&cs_id=1030302&p_id=5447&seq=1&format=2
As you can see they have them in various lengths. I have a 10ft one. These work much better then those plug in extensions that just add on to the existing cord. You lose a little voltage that way. With these cords you are getting a good quality cord for cheap with no voltage loss.
Actually, that's a mini connector, we need a micro. Don't think I can post a link yet, but Monoprice has a the same black cable with gold connectors in the micro size, too.

Annoyances of having Type C

Just wanted to rant about how the most universal USB port is still so un-universal. I went to my buddy’s house last night for a party, and my phone died like 20 minutes after I got there. He had a few micro USB cables, but no one had a Type C. I know it’s my fault for not having my own cable, but man, what a pain. I can’t wait until it actually is the norm.
I would say it was your fault for having a dead battery!
I bought a pair of adapters so I can use other people’s Micro USB. There’s a bunch on amazon if you just search for type c adapters.

You're right-- it was my fault, but in the past when this would happen, I would have been able to use their chargers. I know it's my fault, but since getting this new phone, it's kinda a pain.

I have the adapter at home that came with the G5, but I have it on one of my old micro usb cables. I know that if I took it off to bring to someone's house, I'd totally lose it and then be down a cable at my house. But that's not a bad idea. Maybe I should invest in some additional adapters to keep in my car.

Just messing with you man! But what he said is right. Grab a couple pairs of them for $20 and dont even worry if you do happen to lose them. The ones I bought could fit in my wallet if needed.

You could buy one of these adapter sets that go on your keychain. http://www.amazon.com/TechMatte-Con...9&sr=8-3&keywords=micro+usb+to+type+c+adapter
As long as you have your keys, you'll be able to use the other cables.

in the past it was also the same when micro USB was released whiles everyone was using the mini USB, you will get this problem with a new standard adoption, you have to give it time, and as many has stated, type C has not matured yet.
Just picked this up.
USB Type C Adapter,*Spigen® [56k Resistor to Meet USB-C to Micro USB Standard] Convert Connector Compatible with LG G5, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, OnePlus 2, HTC 10, Apple Macbook [2-Pack] SGP11881 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A1EUVHQ/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_LUjjxb41FXA46
Totally worth it for $8.

Any adapter will do, power drawn from a micro USB will not cause any harm to your phone, so these manufacture stating 56K resistor is just following the marketing plot to increase sales, but for a proper USB type C cable, a 56K resistor is needed.
I look at the S7 of mine that has micro USB and curse at why Samsung didn't put USB type c in it. I know why they didn't because of the Gear VR but it's really annoying.
I now have 4 devices that use type c and have bought loads of cables too to make sure I have no issues.
I love type c format. Very Apple like with the lightning cable but far more universal.
Yeah, we should never advance technology because it's inconvenient... LOL
I already have several compatible cables and chargers.
The annoying thing is manufacturer's aren't adopting it fast enough.
Just buy and carry a small adapter from micro-USB to USB Type-C. It is smaller than a cable.
The transition is always painful, specially for early adopters.
That's the whole beauty of having a phone with a removable battery. If I'm going out the evening, I swap batteries so there is no worry my phone is gonna die. If need be, I have a type c cable in my car. I bought several cables and adapters when I got the phone so I'd never be caught with a dead phone.
i always have an Adapter with me inside my Portemonnaie's coin section.
i also have three Adapters on fixed cables (work, bed, home pc) and use the LG cable inside my car since its short.
i have no complaints so far since this was not as expensive as buying new cables.

Buy extra cables, I have the tech mattes that are spec'd correctly and I leave it in the car for the car charger so I'm never without a cable.

Repair Broken USB port

I just bought one of these from Kijiji. Tested everything out, handed her the money, only to find out it is a pain in the ass to charge. The port feels loose and the corn has to be in perfectly to get it to charge. I'm mid contract and totaled my other phone, BlackBerry Priv, so I thought I'd try and save some money. I thought wrong.
Is there anyway to repair the port? The rest of the phone looks almost new and I'm impressed how much faster this phone seems than my Priv with the same apps on it.

Not yet, that's going to be my last option. I can't do it myself, but have a friend that says they can. The really strange part is the cord it came with seems to work ok, but every other cord won't. It isn't the original one either. It's a 10' generic cord, but it seems to work. It's just a pain to keep carrying my cord around everywhere so I can charge my phone.

If you have a cable that works good, then it's a good sign!. Do you feel it a bit "harder" to put in place?. It might be that the two small "legs" below the connector protrude a bit more so they push more against the female connector inside the phone, or maybe the golden pins inside are of better quality. You could try bending them carefully with a needle, always on the cable. Don't touch the phone!

The working cable definitely feels tighter than the others. I've had a look at the pins on the phone and the other cables with a hand lens. The phone definitely has some damage to it, but the pins look to be intact. My cables, for the most part, are almost new and in good shape, but the 'legs' don't seem to stick out as far. I guess for now, I'm going to stick to using the one cable, I may try to buy the same name brand as a second and see if that works.
Thanks for the help.
You are welcome!. Good luck!
