Hello. Like the topic said, which version of Open Touch came out to be the most reliable and fastest to run in the wing. I know that version 7.7 is out and I have tried it. Just wondering. The features that im looking for is the scrooling like an iphone. If im not mistaken, that's the Manilla 2d right? is not, what is the manilla 2d then and what is phonecanvas???
TIA

That all depends on the user, I have 7.4 lite and I love it better than all the others! If you are looking for something more like I phone you can flash the lite HTC home and install ifonez 1.1.2. Its a cool and very Iphone like. But like I said, Its all based on what you want out of your phone! The best thing to do is start in the Hacking Development section and just start installing things and trying them out. That way you get to know about your phone and its limitations! But most important, Read, read ,read! And dont be afraid to ask, we are here to help eachother! God bless.
Edit: Here you go, check this out...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436656
And Phonecanvas is the dialer used in some of the opentouch ROMs.
awesom reply dude. Thanks a lot.
I agree with DashMaster2000.
Version 7.4 TouchFlo2D is (in my opinion) the best ROM.
You have a lot of free storage space and there are only a few minor bugs.
But nevertheless alor credits to ttran001. He did a hell of a job...
My Opinion is 7.7 lite!
It comes without compression, so you don't have so much space, but it is faster and has no Manila 2D installed, so you can decide wich Interface you want!

i think the open touch with spb shell is the fastest with overclock

i would reccomend grabbing either 6.5 lite with no spb nd no tf or 7.7 lite and trying out a few of the iphone type theme's. or grabbing ivan's clean rom. i am currently using 7.5.1 pro with the updated icontact and have yet to see a problem. i have around 23MB of memory free after a day or two though the memory leaks and goes down to 20ish.

Yeah, I'm using 6.5 lite and it seems to me the fastest out of the bunch. Just overclock and viola.
overclock?
whats the easiest way to overclock on one of these roms, it seems like batterystatus thats cooked into the rom would let you overclock but I have no idea how to use it, some helpful links or suggetsions?

Use omapclockplus. Do a search. the latest version is 0.0.4 or something like that. BatteryStatus doesn't work.
Tried all the others..and I keep going back to 4.0 biggy.
I say the best is 6.5. Tried 7.7 and my .exe's didn't work. Plus, 6.5 lets me instal the t-mobile_customizations and my mms pics are the ORIGINAL size and not some ****ty 160x160 thumbnail .
Use HomeScreen Plus Plus to overclock. It also underclocks when your phone is sleepong which saves battery power .

I thought batterystatus has the same feature too..
Anyway, the most stable and fastest ROM in my opinion are the ones with HTC home screens.. Version 4 and version 5
They are both loaded with application..
With version 5 you would need to do the MMS thingy but its not that hard

Batterystatus was great but ended up being to complex with to much crap arounfd its original feature... Omap is the best option... try to overclock and if the speed is fine and as long as you have no surprise for a few hours, register the new speed so it is permanently set on your machine until a hard reset or a new flash...

Homescreen Plus Plus = Battery Status, theyre the same exact thing
but i think 7.5 Biggy is the best, im currently usinig 7.7 but its freezes too often. But im too lazy to reflash it so im waiting for ttran
Another vote for 6.5
The "black lite" version, with no touchflo or anything else. Lately I haven't even been running batterystatus/homescreen++ and the speed is fine, I might try omap soon.
For what it's worth, this seems to be the fastest, and most stable, plus I love the start menu using quickmenu, I'm very fast with it.
Another feature I recommend is the simple HTC home plugin for the today screen. It comes with the weather screen and launchers, photo dialer, etc. I also downloaded weatherbug for the today screen which has notified me three times this week of national weather service alerts in my area (very cool)
I used to hate iContacts, but the newer versions are much improved, and I like it now.
This is the most stable one I found when using a few gps programs simultaneously.
Hope it helps.
yea i agree that 6.5 lite is the fastest..ive tried every open touch rom and 6.5 is the most fastest to me
Hi everyone,
i'm new and not expert at all on how to cook a rom or anything like that, the only thing i can do is to flash
Since i'm interested in the different developements of the ROMs for polaris, do you think there will be the possibility of having a ROM containing the touchflo 3D, like the diamond, which will work well and be stable on polaris in the recent future?
Would be really really nice... i saw that the development is at a good stage... only is in VGA resolution...
HI,
is there a version for QVGA and runs smooth the only and big problem is that you can't turnOff the phone if TF3D is running

hi, is it the one from ITJE? If it's that i've already tried it, but it is still quite buggy and not very smooth (i think).
Can touchflo 3d be installed like for example manila 2d?
thanks

in my opinion, that rom is good just to have a feeling of what TF3D feels like on a polaris... it seems to be a really nice thing...
so maybe i gave you an idea for your next rom... if you would like to develop it, i would be very grateful!! i really like the manila 2d interface, but of course not as much as the TF3D, which is more modern and intuitive.
The omina has some fancy animations to rotate the screen when you turn the phone back and forth from portrait to landscape. Can this be duplicated/ported over to the HD?
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk1ZF3bcPMo
Lots of views but no opinions?
Well it looks pretty cool, would be great to have that on HD!!!
Mind you just got to the end and the last few make the device look a bit slow and unresponsive.
That's krazy!! Me likie I'll be waiting for some eye candy like that!!

Yeah they're pretty much only put in there to give the device time to load the new screen.
Very nice feature! Would be great to have on the HD!
Yes it is eyecandy (like Dynamo Task switcher) which is why I like it. We need to impress iphone users lol!
I am bumping this thread again because I would really love to see the Omnia animations on the HD. Anyone willing to work on this porting project?
i dont think that it is so easy to do that though i would love it.
but the hd hasnt even the landscape option in every app. as we have to use gyrator i dont think it would be so easy to add that kind of animation
can't extract this of the rom from omnia?
You can have manual screen rotation set to hold the left softkey if you enable landscape in settings then go the buttons,Select rotation then when you hold call it'll rotate every app.
I find it really useless, it takes too much time rotating the screen when you are instead, trying to make the device more responsive and faster.
What was wrong with the original thread about this? Discussions have been taking place about the Omnia ROM and links are present for ROM dumps.

Hi all,
Just wondering, I know the universal doesn't have a capable graphics chip, does anybody know whats a good touchflo interface, fast without so much lag, stable, lightweight?
I tried throttle launcher a while back, to resource intensive, super slow and buggy. Anyone got it right with the new one?
The best solution i guess is legendary SPB Mobile Shell 3. I guess that could work smoothly on the uni, but what's the memory (RAM) footprint like, since many of us are using the 64mb uni?
I've also seen alot of talk of Manilla or is it Touchflo 2d, so many forums, though mostly relating to newer phones.
Anyone who has found a great touchflo like interface for uni let us know. At the moment my today screen is all about quick access with SPB Pocket Plus Today and HTC Home VGA integrated to the Home page for that old touchflo look of the old original Touch.
My 64mb Uni does not support heavy graphics and I prefer good performance over nice looking
I´m using large HTC home VGA and works great

Enjoy!
This thread could be some sort of showoff/help-thread!
I know there are some other threads like "show your desktop" etc. but why not one dedicated to xperia? since there are some apps etc. only for xperia and of course dedicated ROMs..
Why I put this in the ROM-dev section is because almost everything is based on the ROM, looks etc. so I think this will be the best choice. My thoughts is to discuss wich ROM to use, to get certain results and so on.
Tips and trix, insperation, help and what so ever! But most important, post screenshots if you think you have something thats intresting! A picture is worth more than a thousand words.
Second thought, Theme's and Apps maby fits better. Mod move this if thats the case
happy posting!
edit; If you do not know how to take screens, there are some apps out there, google screen capture or similar I recommend WIFI Remote Access though! Check it out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=586654
First out I guess.
MrRusch NUTS 6.1 rom, why? Speed and stability, have not found a single 6.5 ROM with the same speed and stability yet Notify me if you find any ^^
SPB mobileshell with naong MobileSense theme. Like the SPB MS since its so customizable, running really smooth on the NUTS rom. Typing sms super fast on hardware keyboard is no problem, not a bit laggy
All homescreen works in landscape mode ofc. Swype left to go to left homescreen, right to right (obviously). All customizable!
Screens!

well... not a bad thread, specaly for noobs... but... under XPERIA X1 ROM Development section ?
It doesn't seems like a ROM neither it help with development, neither is a question or an answer. I think this should be posted to XPERIA X1 General
think it is excelently placed under ROM develop,
i use the leo valkyrie 6.1 rom atm. very happy about it
its with a pretty standard manilla but very fast and stable.

Yes, but I told "why" in ROM section maybe fits better in Themes-section as I also mentioned in first post mod can move this if agreed.
But first idea was to discuss wich ROM to use, and why. Then why not all-in-one thread.
been on the x826 rom for a long time. Love it!! <33
hahaha lunie by the looks of it you seem one hell of a hardcore anime fan
i am using 826x rom and its simply the best, battery life and performance , no other rom matches this series.

Okay, I don't want to sound rude, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but, I'm going to assume you are FEMALE. Am I correct? If not, then please...don't take any offense!
For some reason, due to the level of geekiness of this place, I always assumed everyone here was male! lol I think I'm totally wrong about that!!

But I will say that it is primarily a male thing! However, any female participation in any geek culture I think is always appreciated! Umm...just not sure about when they decorate their participation with girly anime stuff lol....how about some Akira and Eva and GITS?!
Haha yeah, most guys think this is a guys only forum.
Everone always replies to me with "hey dude" or "thanks man" and I am a girl too. I don't mind but sometimes you get funny situations when you want flowery wallpapers or something because then everybody thinks you're a gay guy or something
Oh and I am using the Enery Rom by NRGZ28 from march 17 by the way. With Xperoid and GenYdualboot. But I don't use Xperoid that much, I'm waiting till it is a bit more stable. But the Energy Rom is great imo very fast and stable.
