My brother just bought a wing. Everything works fine except for the bottom left corner of the keypad. The "*" key works once then if continuous it will show p or w. Works if you wait 2 seconds before depressing *. Also when screen is depressed, it bevels in the middle like it's touching the lcd. Broken digitizer? Anyone else experience this problem before?

i have a 8125 and just in the last few days the screen stopped working and i found that if i hold down the left softkey while i use it the touch screen works fine ..just some alignment issues but i had that before this happened.
does anyone have any idea why this is and any idea what to do to fix it?
thanks.
Anyone..............?
any suggestions what i could possibly try ..i was thinking to replace the touch screen but im wondering if it will work or will it be the same with a new screen.
Bump Bump.
Hi Guys,
Has anyone else noticed this problem? and / or Could you please test this too to see if it's a common issue?
I use the "phone keypad" style, to enter text as I find i'm the most efficient with that one. However when the phone is horizontal, on a table for example, the backspace key just does not respond. (Which is on the right hand side of the screen near the edge)
As soon as I pick it up, so the phone is at a 45 degree angle for example, the backspace "key" responds again.
In summary I have noticed the left and right areas of the screen do not appear to be very responsive / don't work when the phone is horizontal. The middle "keys" / area is fine.
Any ideas / anyone else?
Had it for a few weeks now, not dropped it or anything, and everything else seems great. What's the deal with replacements from Orange if necessary, do they have to "repair" it? (EEK!)
Cheers, Si
I think you are experiencing this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4340678#post4340678
It seems to be more about whether your fingers are touching the bezel!

Click to collapse
Rather than pick up the phone, just hold it using the thumb and forefinger and see if it works correctly. It seems to me that the touchscreen definitely works better so long as you're physically touching the device elsewhere than just using the screen. I do wonder if this is an artifact of the capacitive touch screen - I'd be interested to know if iPhones show the same behaviour.

Hi everyone! im new to the forum So Ello everyone))) I,v had my wizard fr a month now and it was fine untill screen alignment become bad so i press on button and button next to it opened. Because of this i have clicked on Screen Align to align the screen but it started to loop (( dont know why because touch screen it self works perfectly. So what i supposed to do to align my screen? im using my phone by keyboard now because i just cant press any button on screen because it needs alignment. THX to anyone who has read this.
The wizard doesn't like being kept in a pants pocket. If you press with your finger firmly, running it all around the edge of the screen, that might cure the temporary insanity. Otherwise, set it aside (not in your pocket) for several minutes and try again. I got a leather belt case for mine to cure this issue.
If I'm guessing right, the first problem was that the touchscreen seemed to be very weird, so you tried to re-align it, and it always fails.
noup the problem was that i have bought the phone about 3 weeks ago it was working but when i tried screen alignment it just started to loop. I pressed it about 50 times(them 5 crosses) i dont know what to do (( because screen alignment now is crap (to exit screen alignment i need to get off battery and put it back)
Hi all ,So the story goes is I had my cracked screen replaced by my insurance 2 months ago. My new screen was fine up until a few week ago when this started happening..
youtu.be/lXv5xBA-r9E[/url]
Basically when I press hard on the top right of the screen I get ghost touches all over the screen. It also happens all the time when I use a case because of the pressure on the top right part of my screen.
I noticed that I can get my fingernail in between the 2 parts of the phone on the side. I really don't want to go a month without my phone again so I'm reluctant to send it off to insurance. Has anyone had this problem? Should I try a phone repair shop? Does this happen if a screen isn't fitted properly or is it another problem? Thanks
Seems like a faulty digitizer
More info... The screen works fine when I press it normally. It only goes crazy and when I press slightly harder or if there is a case on
Hi all,
So I dropped my phone and now the bottom area of the touchscreen does not work. I can see everything clearly but can't touch the bottom (1cm) of the screen.
Anyone faced this issue?
Thanks
You will need to replace the screen. I've seen this happen with my co-worker's phone. After I replaced the screen, everything was fine.
