I had to do a new romflash. After reading a bunch of posts, I found out that a hardreset for my Wizard is by pressing: Comm button + Voice command button and slightly push the softresetbutton.
but all this did not work for me.
I tried some other combinations, the only combination which worked for me is:
COMM button + Voicecommand button and power-on button.
Are there more people who have to use this combination for a hardreset?
Try pressing all the buttons again, but this time let off soft reset and continue to hold down comm manager and voice, after 10 seconds you should see a black scree with white text. Then you can release the other two buttons. If the black screen doesn't come up for 20 seconds or so, try removing and replacing the battery, powering up, and going through the motions again.

Well, this has happend to me a couple of times too, just hard reset.
Push Camera + Comm manager button together, then soft reset, but keep holding the camera and comm button.
When you get a message, click the green phone.
yeah, not sure what you're yelling, but i think your phone resets and only goes to a white screen and sits there?
happned to me and i almost cried. tried hard resets and nothing. left battery out for a day and nothing. i left it out again for a few hours cause i was pissed, put it in at 4am, did another hard reset and it started to work like normal, though resetted. keep trying!
I'd try all the stuff mentioned and make sure it is plugged in to the power supply.
hard reset and bootloader
for hard reset after you press both cam and comm button press soft reset the trick is dont release bot cam and comm bottons untill it prompts. finally press green button.
for boot loader device must be connected to crable or power. and press cam and power button then press soft reset. still the sam don release power and cam button until you see the color screen.

I installed SPB Pocket Plus, then I reboot, since then my mobile stops in the boot screen.
Is there a way to boot in safe mode? (I tryied to boot holding the two upper buttons, failed.)
Is there a way to format the mobile before booting?
If I need to reinstall EVERYTHING, how do I do it? Using the USB cable? Where do I get the ROM? How do I procede installing the rom?
Please, I would REALLY appreciate any suggestion,

I did a hard reset now...
A quick Google search got me HERE.
Press and hold both the Comm Mannager Button and the Voice Command Button
While keeping those two buttons pressed, press the Reset Button with your stylus
After about a second you will be prompted for confirmation. Press the Talk Button to confirm

Additionally, if you can still connect to your desktop by USB Cable, you should be able to remove the offending software with ActiveSync without hard-reseting.

that's how i did it:
Plug the device on power
Turn on your device
1. Press simultaneously the 2 upper buttons (comm. & voice) and keep them pressed
2. After 3 s press the soft reset button and keep it pressed for 3 s, (comm. & voice are still pressed)
3. Release soft reset button., (comm. & voice are still pressed)
4. Don’t release comm. & voice buttons until you see on the black screen some Instructions to format your drive.
5. release comm. & voice buttons
6. press call button to start format your drive.

With a broken power button, is there any way I can get my xda2 into bootloader mode so I can change the ROM?
i doubt it unless you take it apart and shortcurcit the to points that the powerbutton is connected to
would prob be easier to put in a new button then i guess
I may be wrong but doesn't the power button actually put the phone into suspend mode?
Would it work to map the "suspend" function to another button (like the calendar button)? Or does a hard reset only work with the usual specific hardware buttons?

I have a solution. i have the same problem. Get a paperclip, and insert it into the hole where the power button should be. Slide it in until your device turns on/off. Then hold it there carefully, and press and hold the ACTIOn key and the reset button.
Works for me!
I've been trying for a couple of hours: Press Comm Manager button and Voice Command button + reset button. Nothing happens--it just acts like a soft reset.
I need to do this because I believe my comm ports are messed up. I can't pair the device with a GPS.
I had the same problem with my GPS reciever but I just played with using different port setups and eventually figured it out... though I can't remember how.
Hard Reset
Press and hold the voice command button and comms manager button then use the stylus to press the reset button for about a second whilst holding the other two buttons down. After releasing the reset button and still holding the other two down wait until the screen gets some white writing on it about hard reseting and formating... this is the point you can now let go of the comms and voice buttons. Then press send
Turn Off your x1.
Hold the two silver button together and while keep pressing the button...press the power button...it will turn on and then it will ask you to press "R" on keyboard to reset it. Factory settings will be restored.
Ok tkis way is for hard reset,but how long i have wait for keyboard.I wait 5-10 minute and still i keep only white screen with blue text .....R for reset X for cancel.....I try press each button and nothink happen.later i take off battery and back ,turn on ,and everythink return to normal.
when the blue text shows up, RELEASE THE OTHER BUTTONS, slide open the keyboard and press R
