6550 o 6500? - P6500 General

Hello to all,
Sorry for my bad english.
I saw that combined the initials 6550 to sedna but htc both on site and in stores is called 6500 you explain?
Thanks in advance.

P6500:
http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=734
P6550:
http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=822
I can see the following differences ( might be incacurate, unconfirmed):
P6500 ( Sirius), P6550 (Sedna)
p6500 - USB 1.1 p6550 - USB 2.0
P6500 - built-in-flash (LED) p6550 - no built-in-flash
p6500 - 1500mAh battery p6550 - 1600 mAh battery
I should be able to confirm later next week as soon as our P6500 is delivered

Thanks
Ok Thanks for reply.

Sedna/Sirius P6550/P6500 confusion
Hi, everyone -- As far as I can tell, there is only one device: the P6500 Sedna.
Some background on this... Pre-release leaks talked about two devices with minor differences: a P6500 called Sirius and a slightly higher-end P6550 (with the 1 Gig of NAND flash) called Sedna. When the P6500 actually came out, it had the higher-end features (like the NAND flash) originally attributed to the P6550. And its name (according to the white tag in the unit under the battery) was Sedna, not Sirius.
So -- I think pdadb is out of date. The p6550 was never released, but its name and higher-end features were given to the p6500.
The phone that I have is the P6500 Sedna. As far as I can tell, that's all there is.
Hope this helps!
Alan

Of course
Hi,
P6550 was never released I think ... I have the P6500 and, at first sight, it has the higher-end features of the hollow P6550 (like 1Gb of NAND Flash)...
So, I think that, from now on, HTC Sedna = P6500

Yes -- that's exactly right. I hope you're enjoying the phone!!

Magician 2 ... rumours rumours!!

Don't know if this old news for some ...
http://www.theunwired.net/./?itemid=2696
An identical device to the Magican with WM5, WiFI, 128MB and 2 replaced buttons!
I spoke to our logistics manager today (TMUK) and he confirmed that the Compact II looks the same as the original with Windows 5 OS. Didn't have anymore tech specs to hand although don't be surprised if some more case colours appear. If I get anymore info I'll update.
BulletTime,
many thanks for your reply. Looks like we might get the long awaited WM5 through "official" channels then!
Hence my excitement!
Athena anyone?
I'm not entirely sure if this is the Athena or not. I heard rumours that this could be the athena but I also heard rumours of an athena that has a different shape than the Magician altogether. I think we'll have to wait and see ...
Could be the HTC Prophet
German tmobile also claims a new release of our mdacompact should appear before christmas. And "yes" they say its planned to be equipped with WM2005 wlan and 128mb.
Greetings
T-mobile compact II (HTC - ???)

HTC Prophet

Pro: wm 5.0; 2MP camera; fm radio; softbuttons; wifi
Cons: only MiniSD!!!
Obviously, images and specs may change before release. We have only rumors.
Bye bye
Isidoro
No more a rumour!!!!
The word is out!!! :
German tmobile is offering the mdacompact 2 around middle of novembert2005.
Specs:
128mb
Windows mobile 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seemingly NO wlan!!!!
See photo from official catalogue:
Are u sure the photo is not a fake? Compact II should have Start and OK hardware buttons instead of contacts and agenda. See

Picked up the new catalogue for november just an hour ago!
Greetings
So Compact II will be a S110 with windows mobile 5.0? Nothing more, nothing less? Well, at least i think we'll be able to install its rom in our magician in short times!!!
Oh Prophet, we are u???
Bye
Could you please scan page 12 and link it for us?
Or at least tell us what further information about the MDAcII is given on page 12?
Edit:
It seems that the missing page/information is given here.
That's great, because we could use the firmware and have wm5 on our magican i suppose... If anyone have the solution for that please provide us with it.thx

I don't see the relationship of this post with respect to the main topic.

HTC Kaiser

Anybody ahve any info on the Kaiser. Basically a thinner Hermes with GPS as I understand it. It was announced at CES but can't find many details anywhere.
Here you go m8..
interesting...sorta. i looked at the specs and ok so it's got onboard gps enabled and 256MB ROM (Hermes has 128). otherwise it's the same specs as the Hermes.... not enough for me to fork out another $700 to "upgrade".
In the above link the picture shows the slide keyboard open with the screen slightly tilted up. Is it really so?? or maybe just an optical illusion
Regards
Htc Kaiser
Hi, three day ago I saw this new Htc tytn- Kaiser and communicate to our local pda-forum called Mobisux from Ljubljana (capital of Slovenija)very open-minded forum. I was suprised that all expert start asking me: what do you mean with this link - who is behind, I put link http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=733, . I have feeling that I do somethig wrong, than I ask moderator, why my post disappear - he don t answer me? Is this page(pdab.net) fake or what?
Best regards,
Derek
I hope this HTC P4550 (HTC Kaiser) is for real! It will be my replacement for the HTC Hermes. The GPS and the extra memory is a must for me
This one is real, altho the picture is not of the real device, it is picture designed on computer, more like concept art.
My opinion is that it is not worth of upgrade from hermes to kaiser. I am waiting for a hermes/kaiser form factor device with 3D hardware accelerator
Added HSUPA..
Not sure how important this is.. From what gather they probably could add this to our Hermes since it is just a protocol change..
Is it even used anywhere yet?
Also boosted the Camera up a bit..
Having something thinner wouldn't be bad but I won't be changing anytime soon..
From what I can see
Kaiser = Hermes + WM6 + 2x memory + GPS - a liitle bit of size.
In other words practically the perfect device, what else could you want other than a battery that never runs out!!
However, I won't be upgrading, but that's becasue I've only just got my Hermes on an 18 month contract with T-Mobile and I can't justify 5-700GBP for the extra bits of suff. I'm not too upset though; I was one of the first with the Universal (first WM5 device) and I found that having WM5 at the time to be a real pain as nothing properly worked with it. Plus when I look at all the early problems on the early Hermes (screen misalignment) and my own experience, I'm already on my second Hermes (the first HTC device I've ever had a problem with), I do wonder if quality is being sacrificed in place of speed to market, so I console my self that waiting a while for the problems to be ironed out is the best thing to do.
It's also USB 2.0 - hmmm.. USB2, GPS, 256mb, better cam... I think me wants!!!
Matko,Matko
Hi, everybody I am very happy, that I can read something about future pda - Kaiser, becouse in my country our administrator(moderator - I don¨t wanna name it) delete some post about it. And the guys(expert) who translate in Slovenian language whole procedure from this XDA-DEVELOPERS FORUM ask me WHY I make a questions about htc Kaiser and if I am agent for htc. You Slovenian guys ask here :WHY, WHO is behind? this people will answer you, perhaps.
Best regards,
Derek

Trinity = HTC P3600 ?

Anyone,
I have been reading through most threads on Trinity here but I am very much confused. I though Trinity was a codename for the HTC3600, a device I am very much interested in. I keep seeing people referring to GPS though, which according to the HTC website does not feature on the 3600 ?
Currently have a (the) Nokia N95 which is a big disappointment (esp GPS) so looking to buy an alternative....
Thanks !
Trinity is a codename for the P3600.
In the beginning, the device hadn't gps, but since a few months it does have gps.
Or atleast its GPS chip was dormant a few months ago

New Trinity/HTC p3600i

Yep, everyone here in oz is talking about this- no places are stocking the Dopod D810 anymore as they cant get it.....
apparently within the next few weeks a new HTC P3600i will be released with more memory and a faster processor......
not sure if this is fiction or not but sounds good- strange though that they would release it here before anywhere else... we always seem to get technology like this about 6-12months after everywhere else (we only got electricity last week! )...... no iphone until late this year.... etc....
personally i think that it is just a rebranding of the current Dopod D810? Anyone from here who has good sources can confirm this?
look at the post halfway down the page here- one guy buying a heap from 3 has been told of the P3600i....:
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=658349&p=-1#bottom
Personally I think it's just a rebranding ... cause the latest official Dopod WM6 ROM (we all jumped on ) states "HTC_P3600i" in the 'About' screen...
Or....in the case of a real P3600i, this would explain why there are some issues with this Dopod ROM on a regular P3600...
Hmz..
It's true
HTC is updating the Trinity with a 500MHz processor and larger memory. Also known as CHT9110 (our P3600 is CHT9100) in Taiwan and offered for about 20% price increase.
Why would they do this when HTC is unveiling a few new phones in a few months? To me the Polaris is the phone to get.....

I don't see a 3G small (i.e. without keyboard) phone with GPS in the HTC roadmap so maybe there's room for an improved P3600.
this will be my next phone if htc release it in europe.

Huh? The Polaris is the same exact phone as the 3300 but with 3G. It has a 2.8" screen, not a 3.5" screen, that was a typo. I have spec screen shots of the Polaris and it looks great.
Look at my ActiveSync, one of the choices is HTC P3600i
after flashing my trinity w/ Dopod's official WM6 ROM, activesync detects it as a P3600i already
it seem soo pc'ish to be willing to replace a device to get 100Mhz more
battery life is more importent
more so if one like to be online with messenger with 3g while on the move
i dont see much real world change in that
polaris seems like a pretty cool device imho
Yep it may be rebranded as HTC P3600i or Dopod810x anyway from what I have seen so far in some Asian websites (HTC P3600 = CHT9100 and the HTC P3600i = CHT9110)
the new specifications may be:
Windows Mobile 6 Professional
Samsung 500Mhz CPU
256MB ROM/64MB RAM
All the rest should remain the same as the previous model.
I can't say that it is 100% sure but you can still have a look at:
http://mobile.163.com/07/0718/10/3JM8DP840011179O.html
below all the pictures.
One big question remain, how much will this new model cost?
I wish 128 Mb RAM

Exactly.
You would think if there really was an upgrade you would have heard about it. I mean the Artemis is getting an upgrade and we are hearing an official announcement and they gave it 128mb of RAM.
Edit: It does exist...

its 64RAM see here http://203.84.199.31/language/trans...cts/pda_CHT9110/pda_CHT9110_fea.html&lp=zt_en
it's still a preproducton.. maybe they will change 128 Mb
128M of RAM would definitely cause battery to drainer much quicker - unless they upgrade the battery too.
P3600i available in Australia in one week.
It really does exist!
Here is the preordering page at a shop here in town.
The price is $1099 AUD.
http://www.ow.com.au/Customer-Assistance/HTC-P3600i-3G-GPS-Pocket-PC
HTC P3600i in latest "3"cattledog!
Yep guyz and guyesses. The latest 3 Three cattledog inside back cover shows and lists the HTC P3600i available on a $49 plan for $32 per month. Now that's $4 less than the Dopod D810 albeit on a $29 plan.
Organizer world have it listed also at $1099 due in about 10 days or so.
Extra ram and 500 processor and my favorite a built in GPS receiver.
Just tought you would like to know that it really is happening!

The Kaiser will be king again!
Actually I reckon that the HTC Kaiser will be the one to wait for coz it's got lots of goodies incuding a keyboard which sits at an angle, has a great and worthwhile camera etc but I don't think it has GPS. There are reviws on the web.

This is your opinion. I have used the Kaiser and as great of a phone it is, IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.
I dislike slide out keyboards as I have had 2 phones like this and got rid of them both. I also dislike heavy phones and this phone is one of the heaviest phones I have held in a while.
Anyway, why would you post about the Kaiser in this thread? If anything, I would be waiting for the Polaris personally, not the Kaiser.

News: Is htc iolite... = htc touch find????? If so i upgraded the rom of a iolite !!!

Hello everybody...
I live in Italy and a little ago one of the greatest Italian telephone company called "TIM" was selling the HTC TOUCH FIND branded TIM that was almost equal (in terms of hardware) to the HTC TOUCH CRUISE (POLARIS or P3650).
A simple question:
Is this "IOLITE" the same phone of the TOUCH FIND?
I mean it looks identical from the pictures...and if so... the good news for you having the Iolite is that
...I used SPL OLIPRO v2.0 to unlock it and the 3LIT3 Rom to upgrade it and they worked very well without any problem!!
Goodbye to everybody
HTC Touch Find = Iolite
It´s right, the same device, you can read this here.
Greetings Mirko
edit: Was read not right, it is not the same device. Sorry for my bad italian ;-)
Nope
Nope, it's just a Polaris with rounded edges. Qualcomm MSM7200 with 400MHz CPU vs Iolite's 528MHz MSM7225, RAM/ROM 128/256MB vs Iolite's 256/512. Buttons on sides, front camera - definetely a Polaris.
Sweat styling though, we've inherited it's concept I guess.
