I have 7 yes 7 email accounts. 5 of which I use on my Hermes. It is a royal PITA to manually log into each account and do a send and receive. Is there some sort of "send and receive all" tweak button that can be added or is there a better email handler out there. I use Outlook for all my contacts. But am willing to look into other options out there.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Best commercial mail client for Windows mobile is FlexMail 2007.
Best freeware client is Qmail.
Both are more capable than default Outlook Mobile.
I am sincerely sorry for not getting back to you sooner to let you know how it was going, Q-Mail kinda flopped and did not do what I wanted. I just did a fresh install of Shwaps 4.31 and am enjoying it so far and I have dropped on Flexmail. There was a new version release today with some bug fixes and such. (I am not new enough to even know what the old bugs were. But so far I really like flex mail. It does seem a bit to Uhm fluffy at times, but is looking pretty good.
You would not by any chance know off hand where the setting is to tell it to leave a copy of the mail message on the server would you. I like to download my mail to my PDA and later when I am at a desktop pull that same message from the server, (and then delete it from the server)
Again thanks for the great sections and I will try and post back my results. Flex Mail does seem to meet my need very well.
Dear all,
I set up an email account (my workplace's) for my jade today. I am able to receive emails. However, sending emails is not possible. I will get an error message sayin that "message cannot be sent... check if there is network coverage..." I use WIFI and i am sure that there is network coverage.
Can someone please advise on the solution?
Thanks.
Delete your account definitions and try again.
Try also to configure a gmail account for example...
Hi, i tried all means i could to no avail... the error message kept poppin out...
i installed the official microsoft hotfix (tried both the msi and cab versions), to my disappointment, it did not work.
i gave up on my company email account and tried my personal yahoomail account. i seemed to have a prob with the username, i tried enterin [email protected] or just simply XXXXXX as the username, but the system did not recognize it and gave an error message.... at the end, ya, i gave up again...
can someone please enlighten me?
i bought this smartphone with the purpose that i can send/receive emails on the go... but this bug is drivin me crazy.
somebody, help... and thanks.
Can U send emails using yahoo mail (or gmail, hotmail) through normal browser ?
For company emails, sometimes a certficate is required (especially outlook). Check with your administrator.
and try to set up the email account with the program http://www.mymobiler.com/ to be very sure not to mistype anything.
af the end, if nothing works, maybe a hard reset can help? be sure to backup contacts and calendar!
Mail
An Yahoo account is html based and if you want to send and recieve, just visit the website. On the other hand if you have an account from your isp you have to configure the pop and smtp server. Just follow the instructions on your Jade
If you are using POP or IMAP looks like your SMTP options are not correct. Check with you email account company
Dear azahidi, DaM79, hadimassa and colonel,
Many thanks for your posts... however, i gave up le... now i use opera browser to send emails...
By the way, will HTC release a Windows Mobile Pro 6.5 update for Jade? If it does, then upgradin to WinMo 6.5 might solve the problem.
I have seen people flashin their PPCs with WinMo 6.5. Is it tough and dangerous? Anyone can share?

did you try to do a hard reset? maybe you have some software installed which blocks the config... dont give up! via opera is not very comfortable, right?
wm6.5, we will see. i think i remember to have read about update possiblities on http://wmpoweruser.com or on http://www.1800pocketpc.com. the general message was, update yes, but it depends - in our case - on HTC if they will release an official update.
hi DaM79,
yes, sendin emails with opera is troublesome...
i actually had tried a hard reset, but the problem persists...
still, i thank you for your help.
winmo 6.5 looks cool... i think i will wait for an official ROM or at least, when a stable and bug-free custom ROM is available.
by the way, i love Jade, it is very useful.
are you using the stock rom? what does htc support say? i mean this cant be possible somehow. i had a wm5 device before, ipaq, and email setup was more difficult but worked.
hi Dam79, i did not consult htc support and i dun think i will. does a stock ROM mean the original ROM that comes with the phone? if so, yes.
Can't send out emails too!
I have EXACTLY the same problem! I can receive emails from my work and from yahoo, but can't send out. The same error message appears and when I try to configure the email settings again, the password saved by my phone is always different than what I originally set. In the end, I also gave up and just used the browser. It would be good, though, if this problem's solved.
I bought my jade from Singapore; maybe it's a ROM problem?
Can't send emails
Is there anybody who has encountered and solved this problem?
Hey guys,
I've searched the web and this forum but wasn't able to find an answer to my question.
I own a jade since 10 month and since 2 weeks I have a data flaterate due to my job. Since then I'm using push mail to sync my phone with our Exchange Server (push elemets if they arrive).
However, it's not working well and I'm not sure if it's a wm6.1 or jade problem.
- Sometimes my phone does not receive Emails, even if push mail is actived. I think sometimes it tells me that it is connected to the server and does not deliver emails anyway.
- The connection to the server inactive for a very long time, i. e., sometimes for hours! I only receive new mails after a reboot. This really sucks 'cause I need some mails quite quick and I don't want to sync manually all the time.
- My phone crashs, i. e., I see the green light flashing but the display is staying black or it is frozen.
- When turning on WiFi additionally, it's even worse. My jade turned off for 3x times last week at one day.
Has anyone the same problems? Is there anything I can do about it? Updates for wm 6.1, does wm 6.5 solve the problem? Or is it the jade hw?
Btw, at my company blackberry is not supported, so I need a solution working with exchange. so this is not an option. ...there doesn't seem to be many people outside using the jade like I do.

This is a problem because most people use blackberry in your situation.
I also have no experiences with push-mail and so I can not help you, sorry.
One solution might be to use a web-based email client that allows your email to be viewed via the web. Some corporate and government servers allow users to get their email that way. Basically, you would login to the appropriate server and see your email just like you would at Yahoo, Google or Hotmail. It becomes a question of whether your IT department wants to support a web service like this.
BTW, I know that with Yahoo Mail, it can be "forced" to a push/pull type service. You have to google how it's done and set up some things on your computer and Yahoo.
Another possibility may be to forward your business mails automatically to such an web-based service.
I was thinking about forwarding email as well. But I like to receive mails automatically and to get a notification.
But I'm still ****ed up about the push-mail solution. Can't believe that it is not working properly. I mean I can live with it, but is sucks...
Thanks for your answers anyway!
I thinks it's very much dependant on the Exchange Server (at source) and connection band status as opposed to Jade's capability. My experience is the same. I do not rely much on direct push, but more on ActiveSync by scheduling (Menu - Schedule) more frequent, e.g. every 20 - 30 minutes or so.
it is working on mine....
Hi!
My Jade running on 6.1 is synching fine with the companies exchange. No problems at all.
When the synchronissation is not working, is the internet connection ok? (can you open any webpage?)
Regards and good luck,
Stefan
I have no idea about the Exchange configuration, have to ask our IT guys about it. I'm usting using the outlook-web-access adress to connect with my jade.
I just don't understand why the connection is sometimes interrupted for hours and sometimes only for a few minutes.
Has anyone experince with wm6.5? Is it better for push-mail?
I have a similar problem. I have this phone too due my job, htc brand its more like a work-phone. I can recieve hotmail and outlook emails without problems. but can't refresh and sync my contacts!!! It sucks! Because I constantly get new contacts, but exchange server doesn't work! how is it possible?

I have no problem synchronizing my emails and contacts either way, phone to server or server to phone. Logically if you can receive outlook email, synchronizing should not be a problem.
I can confirm that the Jade 3G (WM6.1 & 6.5) works a treat with exchange 2003. Besides, configuring the Jade for exchange push/pull is absolutely no different from any other phone running 6.1 & above.
From what you've said, it sounds more like you phone has a fault on it. I can't remember the last time my phone crashed and it's running a cooked 6.5 rom.
i've been wanting to get that to work with my UniSA (University of South Australia) email. But doesn't seem to work, if anyone can help me would be a great help.

You need to be sure of the UniSA server name (usually webmail.xxx.com.au). And you need to get the certificate (filename.cer) in order synchronise.

You'll have to get your IT dept to assist in setting it up. There's more to it than just configuring your actuall phone.
Similar Prob
Hi
I have a similar issue but not with Outlook\Exchange. I have setup with gmail for IMAP and pull every 5 minutes using 3g operator connection. My problem is, which I guess is where issue is similar, when my phone in sleep mode I can wait anything from 30 minutes to 2 hours for the pull process to kick in and download mail (notification alert tells me). Now, if I turn phone on within that time, bingo, sync's and pulls. So seems the process isnt working as should when in sleep mode.
Any idea's or is this the norm? Again, I been thinking about flashing to 6.5 cooked ROM just to test. I know my mate has a Palm with Windows 6.1 and he has no trouble so seems Jade build issue.
Opinions welcome!
I have exchange working well syncing contacts, mail, notes etc and it pushes as soon as I get a maiil (infact faster than my pc when i am infront of my desk) and use the JADE for my company emails. I had the stock rom and now 6.5 and both work without an issue. It sounds to me like you have some software issue or conflict in your device that is causing it to crash. I would hard reset and perhaps install a stock rom to make sure its clean. Have you got your server address as owa.something.com. If you set up exchange its not an IMAP or POP service so you should not see that option.
This is a strnage one, hopefully someone can help me out here.
My misses has a 8520 blackberry. We were trying out inviting attendees to events.
I sent an invitation from my device, first off its annoying how it defaults to send via outlook email and i have to sync with outlook to send that invitation.
She received it on her BB but it said its an invalid format and cannot be opened.
However, she sent me an invitation to my device from the BB and it worked fine, was able to accept and everything...
Confused...
I tried looking at the BB forums, but all I coudl find was stuff about the BES and enterprise servers...not helpful.

My wife and my brother both had blackberrys until they got their HD2s recently. We had the same problems but worse. the only way we got it to work wad when my HD2 was syncing to a proper exchange or enterprise server, didn't work through google. Also when people with berries email me items my HD2 can't open them unless you save them to the memory with the correct file extension. Now we all have HD2s all is good.
Solution: get her to bin the RiM and buy a HD2.
Hello.
I have researched this problem I came across and still can't find a solution to this.
Some ROMs like Omega and Energy do not sync text messages via ActiveSync even though the option is checked. There was another ROM (Kumars) on which syncing worked but still did not work properly (did not delete text from phone once deleted from outlook).
Has anyone got any ideas, CAB files or Registy Tweaks to fix it? It's not a very serious issue but I don't really make most of my new HD2 without that simple option
Thanks for any help
Is noone able to help me?
txt messages syncing over activesync? syncing to where? not the standard activesync to windows mobile device center, cos that doesnt do txt messages, (at least ive neer seen it)

Clearly your battery pins are bent, or you're not scrolling far enough up the list
I recommend a custom ROM, I think you'll find the "~[FoLgErS]~" series to be right up your alley
My HD2 never wants to have sexy time with me, is there a ROM for that?

"You're holding it wrong"
No. I am talking about syncing text messages (sms) over ActiveSync to an Exchange Server 2010. Is it so funny? It used to work on stock rooms.
Near as I can tell, this feature is not ready for prime time.
In my case, I can create the SMS in Outlook. It gets synced onto my phone, and appears in SMS Sent Items... but it is not actually sent.
Then if on the phone I later create an SMS in the same conversation and send it, that message and the ones that were synced over ActiveSync all get sent out.
I'm running Indie's Omega ROM 2.7.2 but I recall similar issues with stock ROMs. I just don't think this works properly. It could be an issue with the HTC messaging client not behaving exactly like the Microsoft one in some way significant to how the ActiveSync client invokes the SMS client.
Um, and for all you know-it-alls mocking the OPs question about SMS and ActiveSync, well, SUCK IT!
(Just kidding -- this is a relatively recent addition to ActiveSync and probably not a lot of people know about it.)
Well. I must say it worked properly on stock roms. I had no problems sending texts from my outlook and also receiving them was ok. They used to appear in outlook seconds after they arrived to the phone. Now nothing appears and texts dont even get send when sent from outlook. This feature worked in Kumars ROM as far as i remember but it did not in Engergy and Omega ROMs.
Nobody has got any ideas?
As this is the first most of us have heard of this, I doubt you'll get an answer.
I also have this problem. AND it is a "stock ROM". (But its a swedish rom).
But I can sync them to "myphone.micrsoft.com", but I want to sync them to the mailaccount on a Exchange 2010 server.
It's a htc message client issue. If you use the Zenyee Disable HTC messaging 1.2 it works
