my att 8525 will not turn on. every time i try to turn it on it goes to the startup pages then it turns itself off and finally flashes red lights @ me. can ne one tell me wats going on?
Sounds like it needs charged.
Do you get the orange light when charging which turns green when it's done (these colours might be specific to Vario II on T-Mobile)
Have you been charging it fully?

I know my mda has a red - orange - green (bi)LED and a blue LED.
Yesterday my battery was very low, but i couldn't charge it because i wasn't home. I thought that it wouldn't be a problem, i 've backups at home, etc, so i didn't worry... When i was back home i tried to charge it, but when a do so, a red light shows up and after a while it changes to blue.
Does anyone know what's wrong or at least know what the different colours mean?
tested the battery -> full
tested my battery in another phone.. was completely full, so the charging is not a problem, but i'm afraid my phone is dead...

Anyone got any ideas on this one?
My prophet will not switch on, go in to bootloader or get recognised on a PC with USB connection.
The only life in the phone is when connected to a charger, the red light at the top comes on.
Have tried Hard resets/ new battery etc but still no luck.
Couldn't find anything on forum to help. Very stuck.
if you leave the charger on long enough, does the red light turn to green i.e. fully charged? i'm sure you've tried to switch it on while charged?

Yeah light turns green after a few hours but still no turn on or bootloader.
The other thing is the red light stays on when the battery has been removed. Is this normal? Never noticed it before.
Sussed it....
Ended up opening the case. with the case off, the light went orange and screen light up. Case back on, red light and no screen.
Turns out the mainboard was shorting out on the back of the lcd screen. Bit of parcel tape sorted the problem.
I cant turn on my device, the only thing that seems to work is the led, when I turn it on starts on green then orange and finalley red, Does anyone know what happened?
Does it work at all when plugged in to the mains power? Does teh charge led light up to display what is going on? Do you have another device/a multimeter that you can check the battery with. it could be that the battery has died / needs a long charge / doesn't want to work. Hopefully that is what it is, as if not, it could be something a lot more severe.

After office i just headed towards my home and checked my htc made a call and then I put the phone into my jeans pocket, rode the bike and went to home. When i reached to the home i placed the phone on table and after 2 to 3 hours i checked the phone and it was damn dead..................Till now i am not able to start the phone..................Can any body on earthy can help me...I love my phone but now its gone dead.

i just cooked mine with shadow 2.1.
he got strange behavior turning off all night (i do in the morning), he looks fine at start, but if i stop use and i suppose he enter on standby suddenly he ar turned off, now I cant turn him on and on charging he just show orange light, shows "smart mobility" and dont start. tks in advance
Hi, I have an X8 which was working fine. But now when turning on the screen stays black (as in nothing at all and still looks turned off) When you turn it on it vibrates and sometimes the loading chime will play.
I've tried updating via the official Sony flashing software but still nothing. It charges fine and the lights at the top indicate that it is still working.
It did have some flashing red lights when it was first turned on, I hadn't used it in a while and the batteries had gone flat on on the initial first charge the red lights flashed, but not seen them again since it was charged up.
