how to extract smartphone cab files ???

Hi All,
With Pocket PC cabs, i can use Win CE CAB Manager to export cab files to a .inf and export the contents of the cab.
Does anyone know how to do this with a smartphone cab file ?
Cheers!
Use cabinst
V
cool, thanks for that
i downloaded it, doesn't seem to operate correctly on my SP3.
seems like it's only a PPC version ?
do you have linkage for a SP client ?
the one i downloaded was v1.04.
Cheers !

OEMs to CABs?

I have a boatload of OEMs but would rather have them in cab format. Is there a utility out there to convert or perhaps a location I can download them in cab format?
Thanks!
You can only download OEM and CAB files if somebody shares it like so.
If you want to create CAB's out of OEM's you would be better of trying WinCE CAB Manager. It's able to create CAB's

Wanted - CAB Creation Tool

Can someone PLS recommend to me an easy to use CAB creation utility.
I have tried these three and none meet my needs:
Makecab (command line which is too complex for me)
QuickCab (looks real promising but the build process is not working for me in Vista)
PPC Installation creator by Aperitto (Worked for me in the past, but is now chopping up my PNG image files so what gets placed in the CAB is a corrupted PNG file.)
I am not making an application. I just want to be able to use it to place several image and xml files in different folders on a Diamond to modify skins and the TF3D/Manila interface. Also perhaps slight mods to registry.
Is there something else out there that I can use to make a CAB file containing these sort of things. I know that this terribly amateur hour compared to what all you Developers and Chefs do. So I'd appreciate any recommendations of easy to use tools to do this. Thnx..
Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427438
Tried it too and at present it is not working either. So I need something other than these four:
Makecab (command line which is too complex for me)
QuickCab (looks real promising but the build process is not working for me in Vista)
PPC Installation creator by Aperitto (Worked for me in the past, but is now chopping up my PNG image files so what gets placed in the CAB is a corrupted PNG file.)
Install Builder 0.7 (Cabs will not install to my Diamond)
Any others out there?
I use WinCE Cab Manager from OCP Software
but it's not free
Try this one: Win CE Cab Manager
it's not free but you have a 30 days trial, and seems to work with my Kaiser with latest 6.1 cooked rom.

Thanks will take a look at the trial. But Really $100 for a program to copy 5 files onto a PDA is never going to be viable for me. I just want to be able to distribute 5 small files to mates in way they can automatically install them into WM to two different folders without stuffing it up.

Command line decompressor for WM6.x?

I'm looking for a command line decompression utility for WM6.x platform. Unzip/unrar/uncab anything could be OK.
Anybody knows if such utility available?

idk if it can do EVERYTHING you want but try mortscript, it has built in winzip support and you can add winrar support to it also.
gzip, zip are easy to be implemented in .Net CF. Maybe will work for CAB also... for RAR no ideas.
you need this for scripting or to integrate in an application ? if it's for application you may find components available on the net, for scripts mortscript looks to be a good direction to look at...
I believe pocketrar (made by the winrar guys) does cmd line as well as gui.

nice to know... thanks for the tip, will test it tomorrow (here is almost midnight) but should be nice to make my device downloading RAR files and uncompress them automatically (just need to automate rapidshare now lol *private joke*)
Thanx mate.
I'll try all of them. pocketrar should be nice if that really works for silent unpack.
The idea behind is: I want to integrate it into the kitchen process.
A list of files/packages will be packed during rom build and they will be unpacked only at first call/run of the associated application. But the unpack process should be silent and command line decompression is the best deal in my opinion....
