Anyone have this problem? Seems that when I press either the softkey answer button or the green hard button it takes like 3-4 seconds for the call to connect. This ONLY happens when active sync is running, which with push email (I use it) its pretty much always running. If I close active sync or set exchange push mail to manual it connects immediately. This didn't always happen. I thought it was S2U2 but that's not it. Anyone else have a problem with this or can you think of a reg value that might have gotten messed up to cause this? Figure a hard reset will fix but looking to avoid that...

I have the Cingular 8125 and I love it, but I also have the same problem. I have Goodlink installed and if my device is sleeping it will not vibrate when emails come in. It will make the sound but no vibration. I am currently using Mortsaver for now to keep the device running with the screen off, so that I can feel the vibration and know that I have received an email.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
If you go into the GoodLink Preferences menu from any of the GoodLink applications, then go into Notification, you have to check off Vibrate there. I've done it and it works.
I have already checked the box to enable the vibration. It does work as long as the phone is not sleeping (default 3 min).
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I've noticed that GoodLink stops vibrating every so often as well. I usually do a soft reset and functionality is restored. I remember when GoodLink first came out on the Treo using the camera used to kill GoodLink vibration. I believe this was because Palm would disable vibration while in camera mode and then GoodLink never realized if it was re-enabled. I think the same is true here though I haven't been able to pinpoint the app causing the problem. Hope this helps!
I installed the HTC.Kaizer.Home.Plugin.with.Tabsetting.schen on my Alltel PPC6800. After setting up the weather tab for my city, setting up the pictures in the favorites tab, I was toying around in the launcher tab to see what the different icons did. When I tapped the 3rd one from the left (appears to be the one that adjusts the backlight) it turned off the backlight on my phone!!
I've tried everything I can think of to turn it back on with no luck. I tried pressing the power button, every other button on the thing, soft resetting it, and pulling the battery for as much as an hour and then restarting it. NO LUCK!! The phone appears to be working since I can press the phone button twice and call the last number called. I just can't see the screen.
WHAT DO I DO!!!! Is there anyway to hard reset it without going into settings and clearing the memory? Or is there some shortcut to turn on the backlight?
Oh, and BTW, it still syncs with my PC. (Again, I just can't see the screen!) So is there anyway to make any needed changes, hard reset, or anything else via active sync?
Sorry for such a retarded first post but I am at total loss here. I've searched and haven't found anyone having had anything similar to this problem. At least I haven't found it. Apparently I'm not as smart as I thought I was.
Much thanks in advance for any help provided!! I really depend on my phone!!
ActiveSync Remote Display. You sync your phone with the computer, run ActiveSync Remote Display on the computer, and it will display the contents of the screen. It's how a lot of people get screenshots of what is on their phone. Special installation instructions for WM6.

You need to hit the same backlight button again. That will toggle through several levels of back lighting, one of which is off.
I think its a software bug... Its really annoying if someone calls me and I cant accept the call My ringtone just keeps ringing and I just can stupidly look on the screen without answering :S I push the green "answer" button but the call doesnt accept. I neither can use the red "ignore" button. This problem gets solved with a reset but happends again after a short time.
Is there any solution for this´? Is there any possibility to accept the call trough the touchscreen?
Please help me I am really desperate!!!
Thanks in advanche.
Uhhmm.....i guess you know that you have to 'slide' the button to the green field if you wanna answer...not 'push' the green spot.
Anyways...you can also use the (physical) buttons of the phone to answer or disconnect.
I think you missunderstood me. I actually mean the physical buttons! They arent working anykind. Normally if I press the green "dial/answer" button the dialer application appears right? But it dont! After software resetting it does again somehow for short time. And if I get a call then I press the physical button but the call doesnt accept. It just keeps ringing further. There is no chance to accept the call. And there is no option to accept the call trough the touchscreen.
Indeed, i misunderstood..sorry!!
If the buttons didn't work at all, i would be thinking of a hardware problem, but since you can solve it for a short while with a soft reset.....i'm not so sure of that.
You still have the option of a hard reset, you could give it a shot, just to be sure(Remember to back up your stuff ).
Otherwise send it in for warranty...presuming you still have it.
Thanks for the reply!
I dont think its a hardware problem because the buttons are working again somehow after a software reset. But the problem happens again some time later
Sending it to warranty is no choice since I always got trouble with my warranty!
My old touch had an software problem and couldnt boot so i send it to the warranty and they just send it me back with no repairs claiming that the warranty gets lost if I connect my device with a computer :S
Anyway i hope there is a solution without hardware resetting
Just a thought....
Did you install any locking software which locks the device fully? It may be the one preventing you from answering calls...
HTH...
No I didnt install anything kinda like that. Is there a dialer replacement I could use instead?
I have also noticed this bug on my Jade running the official 2.32 update from HTC:
When a cal is received, the phone rings but it doesn't display who is calling (the device keeps showing the home screen). This is not happening at every call, but I can't find what is causing this behaviour (it happens even after hard reset, so no additional programs running in the background).
Any ideas how to overcome this?
When phone is in standby:
1. Incoming call
2. I answer - quiet! Time counter go on, but I can't hear caller and caller can't hear me. Push "End Call" button.
3. Screen and keys not respond! Can't be switched off. The whole phone locks up.
4. I have to remove back cover and soft reset!!!
I have Htc Rom 1.66.
Can anybody else report if they have or had this problem?
Did anybody find a solution?
My phone has been in by HTC already 3 times for repair!!! They keep sending it back saying that problem is solved, but it's not!!!
You could be having notification queue issues. Try the solution in the thread "HD2 died- or did it" and see if that works for you.
WB
I don't think its a queue issue because this happens even after a hard reset.
Could it be that some program corrupts Rom so that the problem even happens after Hard reset?
I doubt it. However it is just as likely that you may have installed a piece of software that is, how shall we say, not behaving itself properly.
If I were you I would hard reset (backup your data first) then install your contacts. If you can, use the phone for a day or so without anything else loaded and see what happens.
I would not dismiss the notification queue issue at all. Causes more hassle in winmobile than anything else I know!
Let us know how you get on.
WB
This happens even after a hard reset and no software no contacts no alarms and nothing in calendar.
I know that its not hardware problem because when I make call or if I answer call when not in standby, then phone behaves normally and doesn't lock up.
I had that problem aswell, I´m using a Danish ROM, and had Co0kiemonsters version with 20 quicklinks installed. After I removed that program it worked without any probs.
Remove all programs U have on Your phone or Re install/upgrade that´s faster than removing the progs.
Instal those programs U had before your problems started. and test what might not work with your ROM
locks during call
Mine has started doing the same thing - locking during an incoming call or I can't disconnect after making a call unless I soft resent. The only think I have added recentently is HD2 tweak
Hi,
I wonder if anyone is having the same problem or (better yet) found a solution.
My HD2 sometimes doesn't start a phone call or does not hang up.
Problem with starting the call exists at all areas where a call can be initiated : favorites, in the contacts list and also in the phone app (where you enter the phone number and press talk). You click on the phone number or on the icon of the person and nothing happens. When you click the green talk button you see that it is clicked and the phone app hangs. The phone does not freeze. You can navigate to other areas in the phone.
Hang up problem is similar. You click the red button and nothing happens. You can navigate to other apps in the phone but the line remains open. Also the 'real' button on the bottom right side of the phone does not work. Only way to end the call is remove the battery or shut down the HD2.
This might be related to :
- active sync : I have the impression that these problems do not occur if I stop active sync first in the task manager
- I regulary get repllog.exe errors on my phone. I know these're related to active sync as well. Just don't get what causes them to occur.
Activesync is sheduled to run every 15mins and syncs my mail with the exchange server.
Thanks!
Really nobody else having the same problems..?
