Bought a Used T-Mobile Mda on eBay that had a phone lock....

Is there a software or any tricks to by-pass the phone lock (password) on the T-Mobile MDA? I'm new at this, if there is a way please show me step by step. thanks in advance.

Have you tried a hard reset or a new rom?

If you mean the simlock: search for a thread on "lokiwiz", that enables you to remove the simlock from your phone and CID unlock your phone so you can flash another ROM on it. If you are talking about the password, do a hard reset or flash a new ROM on it.

I think I'm getting the same problems as the OP. I also bought a MDA off ebay, that's still locked to T-mobile, but I dont have a T-mobile SIM card. So I can't use the "lokiwiz" program because I can't even access the OS. I also cant get my IMEI number for the same reason. So I can't buy a code online. So I'm stuck. I'm also not in the US so I can't borrow my friend's SIM to unlock it or anything like that. Would flashing the MDA to a new rom stop this? I'll appreciate any help, thanks.

Hi, first off, how do you do a hard reset? and I tired new rom but I am not sure if i did it right or not . I have just read the in t-mobile site to perform a hard reset but due to phone lock, i can not hit start and go into settings.. Please help! I know this is not a sim lock. The phone is asking for a 4 digit phone lock password.. any ideas?

For a hard reset you need to hold the comm-button on the upper left corner of the phone and the camera-button on the right side of the phone while it boots up. the esiest way is to do a soft reset and then hold the two buttons till you get the installation screen on your phone.

I think this thread is a bit confusing, since there are two locks being discussed in here right now.
babysheep is having troubles with the password that is set by the previous owner, that can be solved by the hard reset as said by freezor. His advice is a fine way to hard reset, the T-Mobile way has the same results, but is not possible due to the password. Use freezor's method and you should be ok.
Jugges is having simlock problems. Can you contact the seller to ask for the IMEI code? Alternatively, you can perhaps buy a T-Mobile prepaid SIM, although I am not sure that would work. Perhaps prepaid SIMs are also locked from the phone. Flashing a new ROM will NOT affect the SIMlock, so that is no option for you. Perhaps you better post your problem in the lokiwiz thread, perhaps they can help you better than we can here.

I think I should have read into Lokiwiz deeper. I didnt realize that you can still sync with your computer when there is no SIM installed. This allowed me to install the Lokiwiz cab, and unlock it. So everythings working now. Thanks for the help.

Hard Reset
I am also attempting a hard reset; the problem when I do the soft reset while holding the com and picture buttons, the screen that appears is 3 wide horizontal bands colored red, green, and blue. The only text is IPL 1.08, then a little below that is SPL 1.08. Any ideas?

So I installed the T-mobile UK radio rom on my unlocked cingular HTC 8125 with a t-mobile sim. Upon reboot I get no phone service, it acts as though the phone is shut off but it's not. On bootup when it displays the IPL/SPL and OS and all that there was a line between the IPL / SPL lines and the OS line which used to have something on it, but now it's blank. Here's the worst part, it no longer recognizes on USB or under activesync, I tried to get it to work with bluetooth using a usb bluetooth adapter, but to no avail.
I need to know if there is anyway to get it working again, anyway at all to get it to connect or something so I can install a new radio rom on it.
Please help.

Well,only flashing a Radio Rom,never bricks a phone,cuz it doesn't include any IPL/SPL in it Its just a bad flash.Either,Try a Soft Reset or Hard Reset,if works fine,otherwise,get the phone in bootloaders (multicolor screen) and flash the cingular official Rom,it'll recover back. The phone doesn't get detected via usb or doesn't activesync if there's no working Rom (OS) on it,but if you are able to get to bootloaders and connect the phone via usb cable, a small usb appears at the bottom of the bootloaders screen,it means it has established connectivity and you can flash a rom.
Secondly if the ohine is not SIM unlocked,it won't work with a T-mobile SIM,you'll have to get it sim unlocked if you plan to use a different sim and network.

Be a little more specific about the problem and remember to always post the version of the phone OR vital data of the phone to ask for an advise.

I've been able to get it into bootloaders, the usb pops up in the corner but when I try to flash a rom it it gives me a no phone connected type of error. which is really messed up because the first time I put it into bootloaders it worked, but I didn't use the official rom so the flashing didn't fix it.
If flashing the radio rom isn't supposed to brick it then well somehow mine is apparently the exception to the rule. Still gonna be working on it throughout today though, so any other suggestions?

Where can I get my brick wizard fixed?

Does anyone know where I can get my Cingular Wizard fixed? My phone froze one time, and I had to take out my battery and after that I was unable to boot up again. Is there a HTC place in hong kong that does that or in NOrth America?

s.O.S upgrading to wm6.1 made my wizard brick
while upgrading to wm 6.1 from wm 5.0 , i had a g4 device my device is now not even showing the charging light neither responding or booting.

THE DEVICE WENT QUIENTLY TO BOOT LOADER MODER I SUSPECT AS THE RAINBOW SCREEN WAS NOT SHOWED ON THE DEVICE THOUGH
HOWSEVER IT WAS SHOWING AS ONLY UPDATING BAR WAS SHOWN WITH ZERO PERCENT UPDATE FINISHED ON THE LAPTOP SCREEN NO RESPONSE ON DEVICE AND THEN A RECOVERY SCREEN APPEARED WHICH PROMPTED TO REMOVE THE BATTERY AND REINSTALL AFTER A FEW SECONDS BUT TO NO AVAIL,
ITS MY BROTHERS PIECE AND I AM VERY SCARED NOW PLEASE HELP ME FROM THIS MESS PLEASE.

If you really had a G4 device and you did all of the above then you have bricked it. G4's cannot be CID Unlocked via lociwiz (unless something recently changed), and flashing IPL/SPL 3.08 is NOT compatible to a G4 device and that will brick it.
Sorry, but you shouldn't flash a phone (especially if its not even yours) if you don't understand what you are doing. Without further details (and please don't use all caps. I don't care how "scared" you are) there is nothing else anyone here can do to help you. You need to give complete details of what the phone does now. If you can get to (and see) the tri color screen, then its probably recoverable. If the phone won't turn on, then its probably bricked.
Can I ask why you were flashing your brother's phone? Did you have permission?

Like my previous post, how about some details. Does the phone go to the Bootloader (tri color) screen? If it does, what are the numbers and info on that screen?

I loaded some huge apps to my storage card tried to use the app. which froze my device. the wizard turns on. but shows the first screen with the phone info. then the second screen that say windows mobile. but it always stay on the second screen

I'd just use the terra thing to format it completely and reflash to a new rom

Desperate Help needed upgrading 8125!!!

First of all I am so sorry to bother you all!!!, as I can see from 3 days of non stop reading here and e;sewhere, its not always liked to ask questions, but I am sorry I really need help!
I bought a 8125 cingular from eBay (bought a x01ht but it hasnt arrived)
I have read seriously so much I am now confused! But I have tried to research this 100%
when I got the phone yesterday, I first sim unlocked it with the "All HTC" unlocker.. then I used unlock ext rom wizard, and Likiwiz02 for the cid.. I did see it say "your phone is superCID" unlocked or what ever...
I then tried to flash with x2h_wm 6.5 and it went through the steps like it should and finished and said your rom is updated, BUT when the phone rebooted, it was like it went DOWN not up.. I lost alot of things and now it said G not E for network, I had less signal, and had the roaming Icon. Well, after that My XP computer would no longer recognize the device.. I would plug it in and it would charge, and the active sync tries to connect but after a few minutes it says it can not connect.
I am able to "sometimes" connect top my Vista" device, BUT I have not yet mastered being able to flash a rom with Vista... as I always get RUU is closing, because of error.. and it leaves my phone in bootloader RUU mode, so i have to reset it. I have tried the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291723 and One time I was able to get pretty far without an errors from RUU, but it said I needed a newer version.. or something, and after that I am unable to do it do any RUU on vista, although most of the time I can get it to connect by going to the services- and restarting wm 2003 thing"

Also.. On the Activesync issue.. I have uninstalled and delete all tracers on my xp laptop and reinstalled both the newest version , and when it did the same, I uninstalled and reinstalled an older version... Still the same!

Although I received no answers, I thought I would upddate... I am so embarrassed, as the active sync was an easy fix.. (disable Firewall) I cannot believe it is that simple, as it was working fine before with firewall..
Ok I am following the instructions now flashing with XP button rom, etc etc.. Will follow up later!

Well, I was able to flash to phone to button rom, and then CID unlock it with lokiwiz, but My IPL and SPL are different. SO i flashed button rom again, and its still the same... Can I go ahead and flash back up, or what do I need to do?

And yes you can flash back up.

I am so ANGRY... I got to 100 % and my cat hit the cable and Now its stuck in RUU... I am looking for a fix.. ANY HELP PLEASE?

OK... got it going again... flashing back down to button, the only one that would connect.. and I will build my way back up...

I have flashed to T mobile 2.26.10.2 , IPL/SDL are both 3.08 And I have tried several times to go beyond WM5.0 but It never loads.. Any advice...

Connect the phone to the PC and run Wizard Service Tool and press Enab. RAPI + Unsigned Apps button.
Then press CID Actions Button and Read CID block, this will tell you if your CID unlocked.

Well, I will try that, BUT I am assuming since I have a Tmobile ROM on a ATT phone its no longer unlocked???
When I ran the unlocker it said it was now SuperCID unlocked or whatever..

Its funny because when I ran the other lokiwiz it said it was unlocked..
I tried to unlock it and it said downgrade SPL to 1.06 or less.. AND thats the problem... When I Loaded Button rom the 4 different times I have had to flash it.. THE SPL never changes down.. One time I flashed it, I repeated it 3 times as per some instructions i seen that if you flash it again it will change.. NOPE did not change, the IPL always changes, BUT SPL stays the same.. SO If I flash again, this is the results SPL 3.08 IPL 1.01
Can anyone help me .. maybe use a diffrent rom instead of button?

I am still tinkering, and adding patches now... BUT I was able to get wm6.5 (VERY SLOW ON MY WIZARD) so I went back to button rom, and installed XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 ROM, and I LOVE IT!!! like I said I am still adding stuff and playing with it, but so far its better than WM6 I have on my Cheetah (treo750)...
I will add the steps I took , and trial and error steps, so other people that are impatient and ask questions like I did, will know what to do.,.. BUT let me play with my new toy for a while!!!
One question.. Should I stay with IPL/SPL 2.26? Or should I go back up to 3.08 or ?????

Radio problem?

I got old tytn (not from network) from friend. I can't turn on phone in the comm manager. I tried different roms and hspls (1.40 and 2.10). But I can't flesh radio to phone it just got stuck at 0%. After soft reset it got stuck at bootloader, so i need to flesh rom (os) again to run Win. I assumed is locked, so I tried sim unlock v3a from pof, it make no difference.
Can it be hardware problem?
Please help.
