Please help, i have XDA MINI that looks like S100 - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hello!
I have a question, my PPC seems to be S100 but on it says XDA MINI and i remember that S100 is XDA II MINI, on the BOX it is writen XDA MINI, on the sticker with the serial no. XDA MINI, on the Licenced CD form Microsoft that contains the ROM XDA MINI, no XDA II MINI, could i install WM5 or WM6 on it or is the same with a S100????? If it is possible to put WM5 or WM6 on it please point me to the rom, pls, pls, pls.
Thank's !!!

Here is a photo with the PPC http://blog.jbbr.net/wp-content/o2_xda_mini.jpg

Your device looks exactly like mine: i-mate JAM a.k.a. Magician.
AFAIK, you can't install WM5 or 6 on this device.

I guess your right, but what i did noticed is that the Microsoft CD from a XDA II MINI has XDA II MINI written on it and mine just XDA MINI, still no WM5 or WM6 ROM for XDA MINI, but i downloaded wisbar advanced and wisbar desktop that make WM 2003 look like WM6 and i don't like it , i think i just got used with the old WM 2003. I enen got pointUI and still i prefere the WM 2003 theme.

PS my java file is 3 files

On the installation CD for the Compaq Ipaq there is a jvm called Jeode. I have not been able to fool it into thinking the Qtek is an Ipaq so it will install, but if you do that might be a solution.
Otherwise you could try to get hold of an old PPC2002-rom which includes the wmodem application. This will make it possible to use the Qtek as a wireless modem.
this is it, i have no idea what with the wmodem business that makes it impossible to have it on wm 2003, this is microsoft anyways, they make a product & use people as ginni pigs & maybe mw 2005 will be like windows xp the best SW with as few as 16000 bugs only
it's not a wm2003 issue because my xda2 have 2003 along with wireless modem

For JVM on XDA II try Creme.
Jeode have tested a JVM for XDA II but O2 have not licenced it so not available.

Visual Studio.NET 2003 - Developing for XDA II (screen size)

Hi,
I am in the process of converting some of my Pocket PC 2002 apps to Pocket PC 2003 and I noticed the applications appear in the wrong place for the XDA II.
I have worked out the XDA II screen is a different size to my Dell Axim device, does anyone know what the exact screen size is (in pixels) for the XDA II please?
*I recommend Visual Stdio.NET 2003 to anyone who is thinking of developing applications for the XDA II device, VS.NET 2003 is very easy to use and you can have an application up and running within an hour*
Cheers,
Taz
and better yet with 2005 which is still beta
you can also program to the pda's without
.net if you dont want to something which you
need eMbedded visual studio to do today

Will my PPC software run under WM2005 on the XDA Exec?

Hello,
I am considering getting myself a XDA Exec. At the moment I use a handheld with Windows Mobile 2002/2003 for Pocket PC, and it is packed full of software- utils, aps and games.
I am concerned that if I were to get a XDA Exec I will miss much of the lovely software. Or does the PPC software run under WM2005?
In fact does the XDA Exec run WM2005 for PPC or for Mobiles?
Sorry if I seem extremely ignorant ;o)
Cheers
WM2005 = Windows Mobile 2005.
WM2003se (the last Pocket PC version) was rename to WM2003, so it is also Windows Mobile.
WM2003 and older Pocket PC software should generally be compatible, you'll be unlucky if it doesn't run. But some sofware, particularly system software like Today plugins, often have problems. But the majority of software should be fine.

Please help me with these questions...

Just had my Dopod 900 few days ago and i'm lovin' it I'm asking for help from the members here to sort out my queries. Do pardon me if some of my questions have been posted before, i have tried to search some but i couldn't find any. If anyone has the related softwares, please share them with me here...it would be wonderful since my internet connection is quite lousy and slow here.
1. First and foremost, i found out that my Dopod 900 doesn't have msn messenger installed. Is this the only case for Dopod 900 ? How about Xda Exec and others, do they have it installed straight away ? What is the latest version for mobile msn messenger ? I really need this software
2. I have been using Xda II as well, and i really love the program 'Album'. Is there any software like 'Album' that you guys would recommend ? There's a program in Dopod 900, 'Pictures and Videos', but it is still not good enough...maybe because i'm already used to 'Album'.
3. I used to combine 'Photo Contacts' and MTUX RingtoneX in my Xda II, and they work great ! What software should i use to assign photos and different ringtones for different contacts for this Dopod 900 ?
4. For Dopod 900 today's theme, can i still use my old themes previously used in Xda II ? Will it cause any problem ? Is there any software that allows us to create our own theme for Windows Mobile 5.0 ?
5. Lastly, is there any need to backup since the new Windows Mobile 5.0 won't let us lose our data anymore ? If yes, could you please recommend me what compatible software to get ?
6. One more question, I'm using Spb pocket plus in my Xda II, and i love the option that 'closes the program' once pressing the 'x' button. I installed pocket plus in my Dopod 900 as well, but it seems that that option doesn't work at all. I don't want those running programs to eat my memory although i can stop all the programs in the memory settings. Is there any software to sort out this thing ? Any other software to use that is as good as pocket plus for Dopod 900 ?
Thanx for the help !
Will

Need help to support the HTC phones that use NBF roms in OsKitchen

I need some help to add support for NBF files that seems to be used in the following phones:
HTC Wallaby: MDA, XDA, 1010
HTC Alpine: PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i
HTC Wizard: 8125, K-JAM, P3400, MDA Vario
HTC Universal: JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro
HTC Prophet: JAMin, XDA Neo, S200
HTC Atom: iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom
HTC Blue Angel: MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090
HTC Himalaya & Andes: MDA II, XDA II, 2060
HTC Magician: JAM, MDA Compact, S100
HTC Apache: XV6700, PPC-6700
HTC Charmer: MDA Compact II
I need to know if there is any tool that can unpack and recreate NBF properly for all of those phones (if it's really needed I can have the kitchen ask for the password) and one that can unpack and recreate the extended ROM both of which supporting commandline parameters.
I have found HTC64 that seems to work well on most ROMs but appears to have no command line parameters and xda3nbftool that doesn't seem to work properly with all the phones. I also wanted to know if the XOR "password" is the same used in the MD5 encryption in these phones.
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestion.
perl typhoonnbfdecode.pl should work with command line parameters for the following, but I could not get it to work for my Wizard.
alpine
himalaya
harrier
blueangel
magician
typhoon (Wizard)
tornado
universal
charmer
prodigy
apache
nasa
vivida
diamond
I asked itsme for help and he was working on getting it to work on the Wizard, but I have not heard from him for a while. I am sure it is low on his priorities with family and work, but I hope to hear something.
I dunno if you already read this for Universal ,but just in case you didnt http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5020947&postcount=4 ,basically a list of Kitchens, maybe you can understand something here.

Sounds interesting but can that tool be wrapped/compiled or does it need all the activeperl suite installed? The xda3 tool I listed should work fine with the wizard I think.

Thanks, I'll take a look. For now the kitchens I have seen come preconfigured to dump ROMs for single devices, come with no importing function at all or can only import unencrypted ROMs.

I have been working on getting just enough of the perl components to work on a machine that does not have perl installed. It is all command line with parameters. The advantage over xda3tool is it will allow putting multiple nb files into the nbf so I should be able to create an nbf with os, extROM, radio, splash, etc. But, as I said, I have not gotten it to work for me on my Wizard and itsme is looking into it.
