I´m going to upgrade this ROM, but I have some problems. To install this ROm, I only need to put My SPVM500 in bootloader and execute the program? Should I need another program? Should I have to do something else. Thanks

Downgrade from Jesters 2.2

Hi,
I want to downgrade my prophet from AKU 2.2. Jester's edition to a German o2 original rom.
Why? 'cause my speaker is broken and I want to send it to the customer ...
During the downgrade process I got this error:
This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please get newer NBF file.
I tried ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe, but it don't accept the original nk.nbf....
What can I do to flash an original rom?

Hi, 2 solutions there :
First, I guess you can fix it by yourself : Remove your battery cover, then the piece of plastic that covers camera's lens & mirror, now you should see your speaker. Launch some music and test it by pressing *a bit* on its top, you should hear the sound coming out of it. It's because of a hardware lack, and you can put a piece of whatever-you-like stuck between its top and the cover to keep it *in place*
If this doesn't work or you want a more proper solution (ie warranty ), then you can use typhoon or something like that to flash only the OS ROM part back in your prophet. Search in the prophet forum section for something like "Solution to flash any rom in CID locked device". Can't remember the exact name but you should be able to find it easily.

All this fuss and the file is available in HTC
Even though HTC removed the link from their website, the ORIGINAL file is still in the same place!!

How about that? I was for 2 hours trying to find it and could only find crappy patches with weird roms and utilities to bypass... that DO NOT WORK in Vista 64.
Dunno why nobody posted the original file? Its just run & upgrade, no need for workarounds...

Hi, can anyone get me an original PTG ROM for Artemis? I cant seem to find any working link and although I read the tutorial on how to backup my ROM (the original one) I am affraid I cannot do it myself... or on my own...
I have had problems before and had to send it for repair twice, but I don't wantto send it with another ROM, they might say it was that that chrashed it, or say it voided the warranty...
Please help me....

I'd like to upgrade my ROM but for first I'd wanted to backup my old ROM and my personal datas.

Ok, I've found PPCPIMBackup to backup my datas (contacts ...) and it works fine.
I should have prefer a soft like Nokia PC suite that does permit to make a complete backup on PC with contacts and every datas(mp3 ...) but it's ok.
Now my problem is to save my ROM to be able to restore it if my upgrade fails.

Thank you, this post is really interesting.
But it seems that both tools (aWizard and itsutils) are not working perfectly. Some people are having troubles with them. Furthermore last post of the topic you show me was " How to restore?" ... but it was on october 2007...
Is there now a better way and a reliable way to backup and restore a rom ?

I had no problems with the tools. I managed to extract all the needed files from my device Ok. I think its mainly just a misunderstanding by most of the people trying to use the programs and not knowing which sectors to use etc. .
And yes once you have all the necessary files you can you HTC ROM tool to rebuild the files back into your ROM. HTC ROM tool is what most of the developers here use to actually cook an extended ROM.

Need ORIGINAL ROM SNAP521 EU

I need original ROM for my SNAP521 (model with TAB)
I try custom ROM's, but all are made from platform of DASH 3G.
My problem is with keyboard. They are mixed-up. I try also all ROM with UK, NL, WWE (official and unofficial) and i still have the same problem.
Please post here links with yours ORIGINAL ROM,s.

I try also this version. the problem is evrey time i instaled a cusom rom or a official rom i have the same problem: not correct keyboard layout. Can be from SPL?
