Hi Folks
bought a charmer off ebay that worked but had an old rom on so i have put the latest image. It works fine as a pda but the radio will not work. I get full strength signal but immediately disconnects when i make a call and i cannot receive either. Does this sound like a fault with the phone?
The original radio on it did work but did peculiar things like sms me a dialling code upon reset.
The GPRS is fine as i can surf the net.
I have also upgraded to WM6 to try something else but again everything fine apart from the radio.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Simply try a littlebit older RadioROM. I think you can get it at Prophet's wiki.
If I'm wrong please tell it to me!!!
Sounds like a hardware problem to me.
It can be a hardware problem. But because he can browse the web and the original radio rom was working (OK a littlebit strange he says) I think it is software. He can't do much wrong if he trys a littlebit older radio rom and if that doesn't work it is a hardware problem. Try the older radio rom and tell us if it works.

Hi im new so if break any rules sorry. I have SPV M3100 with blackdiamond on it, unlocked, but when i want make a call phone starting connecting and after 2 sec break connection. No this doesn't mean you have to throw your phone out. You just have to be a little more patient.
The people who use this forum aren't all from the same timezone and don't all have the ability to read this from work so it may take a couple of days to get a response.
I haven't done what you have some unable to help. Just don't get despondant that have you haven't had a response yet.
I've heard mixed reports of the 1.41 radio - some good and some bad. I tried 1.41 but eventually went back to the 1.38 radio because it is the most stable in many of the countries I work in. I didn't use the 1.41 radio in Poland but did have problems with it in Czech republic which is why I downgraded.
There are reports of dropped calls for this radio in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303378 so it may be a good idea for you to read through that.
Personally, I'd drop down to radio 1.38.00.10 - get it here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms,
BUT before you change the radio, make sure you have Hard-SPL 2.10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722 because this will help you recover your phone if something goes wrong.
It's still the same my phone can't make a call always drop after few seconds, i change ratio on 1.38.00.10 and 1.38.00.01 latest UK because I'm in Scotland right now and still is the same, meaby there is a chane to clean everything and upload on my spv again, if yes please for a tip how to do thant, or any difrend idea? Please help me because i start losing my mind and i have latest hard SPL by the way.And alsow i have reception on my phone everything sims ok but i can't make a call.

Hi der_tiger,,, I've been playing about with black Dymond and various Radios in Scotland with varing results.. IMHO generally all the 1.4# radio Roms had issues with missing calls dropping radio signals etc.. I've reverted back to 1.38.00.10 as it seams the most stable for us in jock-land.
Once you've reflashed your rom I would recommend you reflash black Dymond, I always get a more stable system by reflashing the System ROM "AFTER" i change the Radio rom.....not sure why.
Oh one other thing I noticed, this might just be an Orange thing, but If I manualy select the network ie in my case Orange rather than the phone Auto selecting networks I don't get any issues with signal drop-outs !!!! go figure !!

Did anyone experience problem with making calls and receiving incoming calls? I tested the ROM without any add on application installed. When I call my mobile, the first attempt will not be able to connect and it will end up into my voice mailbox. Second attempt will wake up the phone and get connected. Sometime, first few calls will be also failed.
About making calls, sometime I can't dial out and need to try few times. It make me very frustrated with the problems of the basic function of a "phone". I really appreciate any suggestions or fixes you may be aware. Many thanks.
Make sure you hardreset with NO/YES/YES options.

Thanks for your reply. Of course I do hard reset everytime I upgrade my BA code and when I wanted to clean up my phone. This is a normal procedure.
I believe everyone who is using it as a phone will not live with the phone function problem. I would appreciate whoever ever experienced this problem and have the work around method can share with me. Billion thanks and hope I can really get a solution. It is really frustrating...
i read your previous posts (re WM5 roms), and it is puzzling why your unit exhibits problems on calls even then...
is your radio already v1.15?
I did not have any call function problem with the earlier version of WM5. Ever since I upgraded my WM5 to newer version, I started to have the phone's problem.
I tried to downgrade the radio firmware from 1.15 to 1.13 to 1.12.
1.12 so far give me the least problem. I experienced drop calls occasionally, but huge reduce in incoming call problem. I still can live with sometime cannot make outgoing calls. The most important, people can reach me more consistently.
I had this problem on Orange UK; a new SIM card fixed it. Try borrowing a SIM card from another phone and see if the problem still exists for you.
had changed to a new sim card but problem persist..I think will just throw away my BA...
Wouldn't be cheaper to go back to WM5 or WM2003SE, instead of [FONT="]throwing[/FONT] the BA...?

I've loved my Blue Angel for 2 1/2 years thanks to xda-developers, but right now I just wanna throw it away!
I have a Cingular SX66 (PH20B1) running WM6 from Xplode (6.00.00.WWE) and the radio 1.15. After I upgraded to WM6 everything was kind of OK I thought, until I realized that sometimes calls weren't getting through to me and I was getting 'No service' too often. That's when I upgraded the radio to 1.15. I was getting the no radio error, but I found through searching that if I soft reset and keep the phone charged the radio comes back.
Here's my problem.. even when the phone gets out of 'No service' and finds the network (even showing me full signal strength) I can't make calls! Calls won't come through to me! It's pretty useless as a phone, but it seems to be usually able to send text messages if I have the network. It takes endless soft resets and long waiting just to get it to see the network, and then the phone still doesn't work.
The sim card is fine, and it seems the problem is the same if I downgrade to 2003SE (by the way, I only seem to find T-mobile ROMs that work.. don't know where the WM2003SE ROM is I originally had on here).
The phone only seems to work sometimes if I after I soft-reset, I make the call while the BA is still on the cradle.
If anyone knows of a solution I'd really appreciate it.. on WM2003 my SX66 would only act funny if the charge fell to 60%. Now it's wacky with all the up/downgrading/charging/soft-resetting I've tried.

I don't know if this is related, but I have the storage almost full of installed programs and the device is much slower now. Also, the Data Connection buttion is grayed out in HTC Comm Manager.
The phone seems to be working right now. Give it an hour and it'll probably be wacked again

This resolved my problem...
1) In WM2003 and install bandsel .CAB
2) Choose a band of your operator gsm/country (in Brazil, for my operator is 900/1800Mhz (Operator "Claro" and "TIM")... here in Brazil we have another operator what works in 850mHz (Operator "Vivo").
3) If you want, upgrade your rom for WM6 (much better)... your band selection will be fixed (came to wm2003). I don´t undertand about fixing a band remain after rom version upgrade... No explain about this.
No more issue about radio gsm signal, be happy....
Works perfect to me, I´m 100% certain about this procedure.

"no service" is a issue...
Your problem about slower is another problem...
Storage full ~ slower... I had problem´s about these in anothers pda´s.
Take easy to storage your files, much components in today screen, etc...
Use sd card, this help.
Upgrade for Wm6 (xplode rom) and be happy...
WM6 by xplode is faster.
What´s your radio rom version? 1.15 ?
If < 1.15, then upgrade....

2. I can't find a working ROM for my SX66 to downgrade to 2003. I remember weeks ago when I was trying to fix this I think I found a T-mobile ROM, but nothing is working for my downgrade now.

Strange problem...
I have some tests for you...
1) Do you enable PIN ? If yes, then disable.
2) Do you upgrade your radio rom to 1.15? No? Then apply.
3) Do you have problems with anothers gsm chip ? Your SX66 is gsm or cdma ? Possible issue in your gsm chip, maybe... Try another gsm, another operator...
4) What´s the message errors or problems with upgrade or downgrade rom ?
If your sx66 is a cdma phone, sorry, I don´t have any idea how to help you.
In this case, ignore all my questions. My experience in Blue Angel is about gsm...

After upgrade to WM6, every time I call or receive the call, the phone will be disconnected.
Anyone has same experience ? And still, the keyboard can freeze if I want to reply a SMS directly I must go back to main menu, open the SMS, then reply.
Same experience here..tried all ROMs but same..
I have been facing exactly the same thing, as far as the Radio at least. I have also tried all sorts of different ROMs, even Radio versions but with no difference. Basically, out of nowhere i find out that my mobile cannot be reached for like hours, although it shows normal reception, until i try to make a call...then it gives me "Operation Failed" and loses the signal...only to start working normal again.
Could this be the beggining of the End for my Hardware or just firmware guys???

I have flashed my TYTN with the original ROM WM6 from HTC below(comes with Radio), and it seems all WELL.
PS: The original WM6 is not the best looking but at least i get to make and receive calls with intergrity now.

Ysut, one has HTC flash screen and one has Imate screen.... Other than that its probably just a few different 3rd party apps( in oz Imate is geared up for Telstra as they distribute Imate phones)... Still badly bloated with network crap. Cheers...
Hi everyone.
I'm having a small problem with my HTC.
After flashing with various ROM's, updating radio, HARD-spl and searching with google, I don't know what's hapening.
When I receive a call, a SMS simply there's no sound.
I double check everything, and even when I try to play the ringtones I can't ear anything.
Does someone else have this problem?

I have the same probleme....and baterry increase, more, if I turn off the screen I don't have more GSM, I need turn off phone and turn on for Give me GSM

try to update your radio rom, radio rom htc trinity can you find on ftp://xda:[email protected]/Trinity/
Ive upgraded to every radios available from 1.38 to 1.56 and allot of roms...6.5,6.1 and the original in portuguese...and now mi wifi is gone too and its not hardware problem..i should stick to the original rom,really..the problem is the many bogus rom and radio put here wich damage the phones and the genius that cooked these faulty rom and radio are the last to give a solution...very sad..
This is why I NEVER use cooked ROMs... My Trinity is 5 ys old and still works perfect. My only advice is to set back to original state. If you don't like wm5, use SPB Mobile Shell 3.x.x...
