I am new to this whole carry on.
I have PPC2002 and was wondering will downloading the 4.00.05 ENG ppc2003 from the kitchen give me 2003?
Is it that simple? Do I need to untick some boxes? Any ones which I must leave?

Yes, it should be simple. Just untick some s/w u won't need till the top screen guage is green. Select the EXE method and down load the file.

Cook a new Rom in the kitchen and add the xda-developers bootimage......

Can't get camera to work

Camera was working.
This is a G4 Wizard (MDA) with 2.26.001 ipl (originally)
History:
I did a hard spl on it
Then sim unlock with lokiwiz
I put on WM6 (I forget which rom I started with)
The camera worked fine still. I have since changed roms a couple of times, only using the g4 rom utility (no ipl/spl changes). Somewhere along the way, the camera stopped working. When I start the camera app, it just freezes.
Since then, I have tried a couple of more roms, with no luck. I went back to wm5se, no luck. I went ahead and did the hard spl removal, all the way back to reloading the orginal ipl/spl from tmobile w/ official rom.
Still doesn't work.
Oh, and there was a camera fix cab file floating around, but that didn't fix it, and I don't think that one was meant for this issue anyway.
Is there possibly a 3rd party camera software that might work. I wonder if the hardware is fine, but the camera software is somehow corrupted.

BTW, I think I had 2.21.001 when I started. I am unsure how to go back to 2.21.001 though.

anybody had this happen? kinda strange for it to go out suddenly. I didn't drop it or anything.
Are there any 3rd party ways to access the camera hardware?

Proper Norwegian shipped rom wanted!

I would be extremely happy if anyone could supply a proper Norwegian Rom. I need it because I have to have my phone replaced, but I'm afraid HTC will say that the warranty is broken if I send it back with a custom or foreign rom.

Here's a copy of the original 1.28.409.1 Norwegian ROM for the Touch Cruise (WM 6.0). Remember to remove hard spl too after you've flashed the original ROM back.
1. Flash original ROM
First flash the offical rom (using hard spl and your normal flash metod, I usually put the ROM on the SD card).
2. Restore original SPL
Download the originalspl.zip
Unpack it to a folder.
Start the RomUpdate Utility from the folder.
You will see the tricolor screen on you pda, and device will ask you to Replug USB cable. DO IT!
After a few seconds original spl is restored. (this will restore only spl, not flash the full rom)
You can check it to enter manually to bootloader.
You have to see this in tricolor:
POLA100
SPL-1.25.0000
CPLD-2

Because that one didn't work with my device. I'm missing some files in communications setup and I can't get the gprs/edge/g3 etc. to work. I don't know if that is a problem, but I'm afraid that the guys at HTC will notice that the rom is different and that I will lose my warranty. BTW, Bitdefender found a virus in "Polaris_CustomRUU.exe", (Trojan.Qhosts.AQP).

Yes, it's the same one. I did try and flash it to my device once, just to verify that it was genuine, and I did not get any gprs/edge errors. Not that I tried it for any length of time.
Are you sure that you did not have a hick-up in the flashing? Also after the flash is complete, do a hard reset. I've found that this helps to iron out small issues on other ROMS.
Regarding the virus, a lot of the ROM floating around has this virus in it. I'm not sure if it's a virus or not, but personally I always copy the ROM to the SD card and flash using Hard SPL and not CustomRUU.exe. That way I'm safe and theres less things that can go wrong.

I tried several times both flashing from memory-card and the normal way, but it's the same. Also after hard resetting. All the other roms Irun htc setup and installs htc apps the first time you run the system, but this rom doesn't. I appreciate your help, but I can't get the rom to work. Starting to get stressed out. I have to mail in the phone to service on monday..

Har lagt den inn via minnekortet nå, men det mangler fortsatt htc programvare. HTC Home f.eks. Og hsdpa innstillingspanelet, men jeg prøver å gjøre det så likt orginalen som mulig. Skal rapportere tilbake om hvordan det går med ubyttingen/reperasjonen.

Use this one. As far as I've read so far, your phone will be recognized as a German Xperia by the update service and once a newer version is out (even if it is already, but i don't think so) it will update with German ROM.
My german is very poor (that's why I installed english ROM over my generic german ROM), but I believe I've answered tarnaman as well.

thanks. i followed Step 1 in the mentioned post some days ago. since this update i can't sync. with my laptop anymore. i only get the error 0x8007274a. i tried deleting the profiles on both sides ... didn't help. ... any ideas?

Sorry. When I decided to install hardspl I automatically decided to install the enlish ROM as well. But neither before nor after did I have problems with synching.

thought you were german tried to use the SE update application yesterday, no update out yet... going to flash the rom now. the t-mobile version sucks a bit

[Q] Updateproblem Omnia7(Februarupdate)

Hello xda-members i have a really big problem :
i want to update my Omnia7 but everytime nothing happens :
This are my Phone details:
16 gb Version of Samsung Omnia7 buyed by T-kom in Germany with following details(Attention it has no Sim-/Netlock and is used with prepaid-card):

As i wanted to start the updateprogramm first,a Updatemessage appeared that an Update is available,then i confirmed it to the Update and because i have an 64bit Vista i had to accept the Zuneupdateprocess by the user controlsystem,then sepperate progress bar appeared but there never happened anything in the bar and zune swapped back to the startpage.
Because of the bootloader i buyed ,while getting enerved of the updateprobs,an usb-jig from ebay which is able to set the omnia in updatemode (i tested it out but read on).With this i used the "Device_Update_Support_Tool_for_OMNIA7_KC3_Ver1.2" to updatre my phone,and the programmmessage was the two times i used it ,that everything was right and the phone updatet,but in the phone-info i didn´t saw any difference
So my question is how can i update my Omnia without changing the firmware etc. eventhough is my question what about Chevron updater,can i use this? Becaus i read that after Chevronupdate no other update is available for the phone and you need to make it updatable again with a microsofttool.
So what shall i do (please don´t say me that i have to exercise my english)

Mein Problem: Ich möchte mein Omnia7 mit obrigen Angaben Updaten,ich habe es bei der Telekom Simlockfrei gekauft und betreibe es mit einer Medionmobile Sim-Karte .Da es diesen sch... bootloader hat kann ichs nicht über Volup + Camera + Powerbutton in den downloadmodus versetzen ,sondern nur mit einem Usb-jig,den ich mir schon besorgt habe. Im dl.-mode hab ichs dann versucht mit dem Samsung supporttool zu updaten aber es hatt keinen wahnsinnigen Erfolg gehabt,außer das das supp.tool sagt das mein Omnia geupdatet ist.Der Zuneupdater öffnet nen neuen Ladebalken nachdem ich das update über die Benutzerkontensteuerung meines 64 bit Vistas zugelassen habe,aber nichts geschieht,auch nach ner halben Stune und mit ausgeschalteter Ben.kont.steur. net
Leute was kann ich tun ,bitte helft mir und schlagt net vor dat ich die fw ändern soll

I have no idea why is happening what is happening for you.
I am afraid that you will have to use USB Jig to get to bootloader and flash new ROM (remember that it will wipe your SMS, games, everything!), probably with NoDo already in it, like latest KC1 ROM.

You don't need a JIG to repair your bootloader! If you have a faulty bootloader Zune will update to NoDo + fix your loader.
I think you have some misconceptions about Chevron.
Load it onto your device Os.:7.0.7004.0... get Samsung Tools xap.
Hit the "always leave my device Unlocked"
Update your phone to NoDo!!!!

But he, if I understood it correctly, can't update to any higher version through Zune on this ROM.
And for me, update to NoDo DIDN'T update bootloader NOR radio.

Jeah its right i can´t start really any Updateprocess,every Updatevideo in the Internet that i´ve seen is completely difference with my starting of Update,there everytime appears a second processbar on my screen but there in never happens anything. Because of warranty i think that i´ll sent it back to samsung to get it updatet because i think a selfmade firmewareflash is to dangerous and eventhough i don´t know which firmware i can take for my device to have the best results,i won´t have the prob afterwards that i can´t call anyone or anything like that

Oh i´ve probed something out ,is it possible that the bar is the Updatebar for Zune? because now i started to update Zune without any phone connected and the same progressbar appeared so i´ll lock if this runs and then i´ll post if something happened

I had the same problem, this bootloader version won't go into download mode and fails installing the feb update.
I used a jig to force it into download mode and then used these instructions to flash a newer version. After that, installing updates using Zune worked fine, i'm running Mango now.

So prob is solved: i had to update my zune software by a special update programm and thereafter everything worked fine
