Okay you all know i've been working on this website for a few weeks now. This means staying up till 3-4am in the morning, coding non-stop. By the fall of this week, it will be released to the public as a beta for 1-2 days where bugs can be submitted so I can fix it up, to make it a pleasant experience for the user!
Okay so edit again And yes IT's ALL FINISHED!!!!!!
All that needs to be done is to add categorys and content via the admin panel, but i need people to help me out (its a big job)! If you don't want to help all the time, at least help me get through the forums so after i've seen them all I can keep on top, because atm i'm under a huge pile of stree (see what I mean)

What better site than the one your on?!?!?!?!?
This is a awesome site, it's just to cluttered, if you see what I mean. You have to file through them all to find things you want, and then when you find something you need, you dont know if it's the latest version etc.
And this isn't the only good site, there's ipmart etc. and this is my way of trying to merge them all together
It will have a way to add your own stuff, so it's like the users own little admin panel, except everything they do, has to be rectified by the admin
So I just thought I'd simplify the process.

If you look at the number of members and posts at SprintTouch.net, I'd say there isn't much interest in a stand alone site. By comparison, SprintMogul.net dwarfs st.n. Granted, the Mogul has been out longer than the Touch, for Sprint anyway. Phones come and go all the time, so I'd think you'd be better off creating a site that's manufacturer or OS specific.

So far, I have done the basics - news system, categorys, sub categorys, descriptions, and download/view details page. I am currently going over everything now, to implement more features etc.
It's coming along really nicely!
you say that you dont need to register to use the site, but if you want to download from say Xda-Developers, then you need a username and password!

Usually, if someone post's something, they supply a download link to say fileshare, I can provide that. And if I am allowed, and I give proper credit to this site, surely I can upload myself, and give a download link?

How would you make sure the version you are offering is the most current one?
Well, I would keep everything updated, I roam these forums everyday, so I won't miss anything. And If the people who said they want o help are commited they can help.
I might create a php bot, to search for the highest number, shouldn't be too hard
So far, pretty much everything that the user see's is finished! I am just tweaking the rating system - for now, no comments.
But I still have the admin panel to do, but I can still put the website live and add everything via phpmyadmin. I don't like to keep people waiting.

Okay - I had to postpone due to family issues and such, and well i've come back but I don't know if I should waist the rest of my time doing this website. Its practically done - Minus a design and just need to implement a few cool effects such as ratings, comments and screesnhots etc.
I have big planns for this website (no wait, rephrase. I had big plans) But I need to know if any of you would use this website? It will be a simple layout, and much easier to get access too.. It will also have news feeds to it's far easier to be able too check if something has been updated.
Hasn't that ever annoyed you? When you see a cool program and you isntall it but you don't realise it's had an update - and you have to go routing through the messy forums (sorry, but it's true - this is a forum, they're all messy) and look for the latest one?!
Either way please tell me if you would use it, it would be free of course

wow i'm so appalled by the level of presumptuous judgement being passed here and how easily assumptions are made.
i didn't even KNOW that they would do some lame marketing thing like that.
and FYI you i just sent them a message asking them which drawing mode they use for their "app", also requesting an SMS feature to be added. i then told them i hope they push said "app" to be a fully-featured shell replacement and that i'm confident they'll do a good job at it.
i then went and paid the $25 for said "app" (which i am apparently not allowed to mention here), as i truly commend them for making such a high quality product.
i just downloaded the WVGA skin too.
aaaanyway i just thought ppl would enjoy finally being able to use something ROBUST on the xperia cuz for months i couldn't find anything!!!!
so if anyone would like to know what "app" i'm talking about, i guess now the only way would be to spam the mod asking what the "app" is....... or maybe try and search the threads if it simply remains closed and not deleted/purged...
P. S. like HELL i'd ever waste my time making a youtube vid to get a free license for a $25 product!!!! i spent a grand on an xperia; you think i'd be trying to pull something like this?!?!

Could it be Iconsoft Phone Extender?
They have a campaign running which lets you get the app for free if you spam forums with ads for their product.
Although they did set up some rules:

Personally I will never buy something from a company with such a marketing scheme. If you really need the app and don't have the cash, please get it "elsewhere", without spamming everywhere.

How is it possible ?
Google does not check your apk signature when you upload a software.
Even if you signed yous apk with you key, somebody else can put this on his google account.
The signature can be deleted easily if needed.
He can change the title of your app, so nobody see it, but he can't change the apk name nor the icon.
Why do we post our apk here ?
To have testers, to correct bugs, to have a perfect look and feel before put it on the market.
Because on the market people are rude, we have only one chance, so we need to avoid bugs.
And when we put our app online, we want to choose if it's paid or free (with ads or not).
What is the problem ?
If DavinciDevelopers steal and upload your app, he will lock your pak name.
2 apps can't have the same name on the market.
You may have a name like com.myname.myapp.apk
Where "myname" is the same in every app you do.
If he take that, this is a major issue for you because you will be associated to him on every search (google.com, market...).
So, you will have to change your app name and maybe your company name....
Within 1 or 2 days, the market is parsed from androlib, androidzoom, appbrain... and it's done. Google.com will see those websites, and you are trapped.
You will have your buggy app on the market, some people will pay for that, the thief will have some money, and every users will have a bad opinion of your app.
Why DavinciDevelopers does this ?
To make benefit from your work.
Because he doesn't care you are working from a long time on your app.
Because he doesn't care if your work is ruined, he will find somebody else.
How can we be protected ?
Because 2 apps can't have the same name, you should put your app on the market first.
If your app is in development stage, you can upload it as "draft", so it will not be visible on the market, but the name will be locked.
Who is DavinciDevelopers ?
Somebody that have 83 apps on the market !
Almost all of them are themes.
If you look the package name you can see for example :
com.nd.android.pandatheme.p__3d_android_theme

So he is not a developer. He makes themes with a free online tool and sell them... nice.

Is it worth marking all these apps as objectionable to draw Google's attention to this issue?

One thing I don't understand :
Google should give to every developer a private key that we could use to compile the apk.
Something we should not be able to remove.
So the developer who generates the apk could be sure it would be uploadable only into his account.

It's not possible to add something, that is impossible to remove. Cryptography makes possible to check that something was created by someone, but not that it wasn't.
Dang that sucks that people are ripping dev's off. I have high respect for Dev's. Not being one, I don't know all the ins and outs of developing apps but I'm sure it's a very deeply involved process that nobody should rip off. Jeez. I hope these idiots are banned from the market. Is there a formal process that someone can start to get these apps credited to their rightful owners?

Your phrase "small developers under 100 Review" makes me laugh, i am can't participate as acording to your speech i am not a small developer haha. I can say that if you have less than 1000 reviews or less than 1.000.000 downloads (free apps) you still a small developer, do you agree?
