hey there!
is there a tool where i can set my volume/vibration/off in presets?
i am searching especially for quick-accsess presets like nokias profiles...
here is the "deal" - i need 2 sets of settings most often:
1st: vibro + pretty high volume on the ringer
2nd: no vibro + very low on the ringer
at the moment i just swich it "off" instead of going through all the settings...
any idea?
thanks for reading and thinking!
is there ANY tool???
or is there no such thing...
google will get you a lot of results:

Hello all,
Does anyone know if there is a program that allows you to set various ring profiles like on the nokia phones. This is a very useful and quick way of changing ring settings.
Hi,
I use phone alarm from pocketmax and have done for about 6 months. I think it works perfectly especially when getting on a flight.
www.pocketmax.net
Hope that helps,
M.
Or try PocketZenPhone, it's much easier that PocketAlarm.
Try PocketZenPhone, is the better!!
Have to say originally I tried - ok 6 months ago - PocketZenPhone and didn't like it. It hung alot and just didn't integrate well. Haven't tried the newer version.
Phone alarm though I like for the following reasons:
1. Allows MP3 SMS tones
2. Repeating alarms (like Motorola) to avoid missing alarms
3. Integration with WebIS mail
4. Integration into Today screen
5. Skins
6. GPRS settings
7. General notification settings
It seems to do what PocketZenPhone does and more. Just my opinion though
M.
Here you go!
Hi mates,
I have spent several days looking for a phone profiler (ala Nokia) as much simple as possible... no whistles and bells, no bloatware... just profiles.
I miserably failed!
So I decided to develop myself a software solution to accomplish this simple task.
I am so happy with it that I have decided to share it with you.
It is completely FREE. Take it as it is, of course!
I've been using it for several weeks now, and could not experience any failures. Nonetheless there could be bugs or malfunctionings I would be glad to fix if you let me know.
My "Phone Profiles" includes a control panel Applet to change your settings and a Today Item plugin to easily select or change the current profile.
Just select the today item, tap-n-hold (or hold the action button down) to display a popup menu with your profiles.
For all the CLaunch lovers, it also possible to activate a given profile from a command line using the following sintax:
ctlpnl.exe profiler.cpl, n, 1
where n is the profile number. Change 1 to 0 if you want just to edit the profile's settings.
This software has been tested on WM2003SE Phone Edition only.
That's all, I guess.
Enjoy.
M. Panzica (aka Silver Bullet)
UPDATED: Looks like it does not work properly if compiled with VS2005. Recompiled with eVC4. Please re-download. Sorry.
Pocket Zen Phone can be found at http://zendrui.free.fr/
@TheBrit
Do you mean you didn't like mine ?
@slvrbllt - does your profiler work on WM5 - I have a universal and am interested to know if it works on that. I can't test it on it tho just now cuz it's away for repair
@NinjaDonkey:
Nope, buddy.
As far as I know it doesn't work (yet) on WM5, since I use API calls that require the code to be signed. I am currently working on a new version that is supposed to be running on WM5 as well... stay tuned.

I'm sure yours is just fine.
I've been using PZP for a while now and it really does the trick. It not only profiles ring tones but lots of other settings too. 8)
...and here is the ITALIAN version many of you have requested.
Cheers.
hi! i'm a new magician user. may i ask how will I install your Profiler to my phone?
Try PocketZenPhone or PhoneAlarm
Those 2 should be the best in the market now
I just try both of them as of late
And I must say I choose PhoneAlarm better than PZP, PZP is a little slow and would hang once in a while
Plus PhoneAlarm got more feature like billing info, better skining...ext
@Silver Bullet: Could you post some screenshots please?
Greetings,
BGK
PZP has full instuctions here: http://zendrui.free.fr/

Hi,
I just downloaded and installed your little program on my Magician, and I am seriously impressed! The Today DLL is a mere 12k, and everything works flawlessly so far!
Great job - thanks a lot!
Would you allow me a few comments, in no particular order?
- your program needs a name.
- the GPRS problem that PZP has seems to not exist in your program - well done! I'm almost convinced to switch...
- this thread here is about the three existing profiles programs. Could we have a separate thread for your program?
- would you care to comment how you manage to switch on/off Bluetooth? I remember that for Zendrui this was not easy to implement. Does your program also handle Widcomm stacks?
- I would be interested in a German version, and if you send me a string table, I'd be more than happy to to provide German translations.
- one wish: I certainly do not want all of the settings PZP offers, but there are a few I do miss:
-- setting the volume for system sounds. There are situations where any sound is unacceptable, even the beeps when tapping.
-- set the backlight time-out. For example, when I navigate, I do not want the backlight to turn off at all.
-- backlight level independently for battery and charging mode.
Yes, I know that this already sounds like beginning featuritis. But afaik all these settings are simple registry entries, so should not bloat the code. Trying to put this into the UI may be a bit tricky. Well, just my personal wishes - feel free to ignore if you disagree.
Overall, I find it a really well-done little program. Thanks a lot again!
Cheers
Daniel
In my opinion the best is Profiler  Very simple and friendly program.

Well its not so much as a hack, just a tip. If you use tones while using the phone dialer on the wizard, I found the reponse time to input was really really slow and generally a pain to use if not unusable. I tried disabling the tones for dialing and the response time now is excellent.
Hope this helps .....
How do you do that?
Press green phone button
Bottom right "MENU"
OPTIONS
KEYPAD = OFF
OK
Let me know what u think ?
Gr8 tnx
Genius, why didn't i think of that....
Thanks !
Good tip m8!
Thanks
worked for me!! thanks mate
Also happy here

Arrrgggg....I just spent the last 2 week at a show where every night I had to verify crdit cards by phone. I punched in 1000's of numbers...always fumbling with the delay...NOW I find out.
Thanks dalewinterstein, next time I'll know.
Great tip, and default it appears to be set on "lange tonen" (Long Dialtones), so if you put it "uit" (Off) it is much better, but also when you use the medium setting "korte tonen" (Short Dialtones).
thx
HW
Oh great tip, not that laggy any more. Thanks
Another optio
I installed the Eten M600 dialer which is much more responsive (even with tones)

It doesn't bother me, but people on the other end of the line complain that the beeping the Tytn makes when changing volume during a call is too loud. Especially the beep at the top end of the volume slider.
I did a little digging (after searching and checking the wiki fruitlessly) and found a solution that I thought I'd share. 8) I'm new here so I'll let someone else update the wiki if this looks useful.
There are actually 3 different sounds in play here: the one at the bottom end of the slider (quietest), the one in the middle posisitions (standard), and the one at the top end of the slider (loudest). These are handled by 3 registry keys:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\LoudestInCallVolume
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\QuietestInCallVolume
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\StandardInCallVolume
within each of these keys the default 'Script' value is 'p' for 'play'
Change the 'Script' value to blank (erase the 'p')
Now the sounds won't be played and won't annoy your friends. Bonus - at least perceived by me - since the tytn isn't playing those sounds, the volume actually changes MUCH FASTER, practically instantaneously - the way you'd (or at least I'd) like it to.
Hope this is useful to someone...
Great - that really REALLY bugged the hell out of me! One for fit4cat Hermes Tweaker maybe?
Wiki updated, but don't be shy to do it yourself next time
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry
BTW, the tweak works perfect on my TyTN, thanks!
Great! I'm glad I wasn't the only one. Thanks pof.
Thank you so much.
Excellent update!
nice one! that was doing my nut!
FANTASTIC
This is my first post to this forum... and I have to say that since buying my TyTN I have been plagued with the obvious "buying it in france and wanting it in english with the french HW keyb" problems, and then annoying things like the volume beeps were just exasperating.
This has made a huge difference
THANK YOU very much!!!
sorry guys but i forgot to go into the registry editing... how can i do it? thanks ;-) and sorry

You need to use 3rd party software, like PHM Registry editor or Resco Registry...
I fixed my problem when i updated my tytn with imate rom. Now, volume changes are faster with no annoying sound.
Very nice!!!
Thanks - Rich
Thank you! It's always nice to find these new tweaks, and this one certainly makes a noticeable difference.
Thanks for the tweak, my ears are pleased with it already!!
nice one cheers!!
WOW ! I didn't realize so many people would benefit from this. I didn't find any discussion of it when I searched.
Glad I could help. I won't be shy about posting new stuff I find in the future.
I also suffered from this stupid htc/windows programing bug.
Thank you!!
I read about and implemented this right after you posted it. It works a treat.
THANKS!
Nice one, mightyeric. I've spread the word on other forums... (but made sure I credited you!!!)
Does anyone have the skills to make this into a CAB for easy install?
Excellent, thanks for the tip- My 'dial' sound seems to have changed or corrupted somehow (I don't see how I would have changed it) so I've turned it off now- very handy- thanks
Hi all,
i'm looking for a solution for the following problem:
Everytime my Diamond connects to another bluetooth device i want to set the volume to 100%.
Is there a solution anywhere in this forum? The search funktion has no results for me
Many thanks and sorry for my bad english
Lars
Me too. I've been thinking about writing a MortScript, but haven't got a clue where to begin...
Take a look at G-Profile at www.ageye.de and forum.ageye.de
It makes Equippement-based profiles possible
Bax
Yeah that's it! So many thanks... thats what i'm looking for
Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, so please be gentle with me. I have had a little search around, and still can't find a solution to my problem.
I recently flashed to Oz rom 1.5 , and I'm on radio 2.07.50.27_2.
So basically no matter what setting I put the volume to, my ringtone and notifications are always the loudest they can be (obviously not if its on silent or vibrate) I have tried changing ringtone back to the default one, and its exactly the same. Is there a reg edit I can do? Does anyone else suffer from this?
Let me know your thoughts!
Cheers

You can have it set to have different volumes for system sounds and ringtones.
When you click one of the volume buttons, do you have "System" and "Ring" tabs at the top of the page? If you do, make sure you're on the ring one to set ringtone volume. This can also be done from the "Sound & Display" options on the settings tab.
Hope this helps mate
Thanks johncmolyneux, I've already tried that and it makes no difference. I have it set so there is only one volume control (so system and ringtone volume is combined) ... any other ideas?
Sorry mate, I know that was a bit of an obvious thing to check, but you never know on here
I guess my only advice would be to go back to the ROM thread and ask there. Maybe it's a problem with that.
no prob mate... I have asked there as well and the chef wasn't sure either...
are there any registry things I can check? I was thinking maybe my phone thinks 'level 1' on the volume is actually 'level 5' or something?
its so annoying-scares the life out of me every time someone calls!

Having never had a problem with this myself, I've got no idea where this particular data is stored. It does sound like something that would live in the registry though, so I'm sure that someone on here will be able to help you out. There's some walking encyclopaedias of Windows registry on here! lol
Good luck getting it sorted mate.
any one out there now where in the registry I should look?
cheers in advance!
