Hi:
I bought a new battery from ebay for my HTC magician (XDA mini, O2 Germany) with the correct model number (PM16A).
When i insert the the battery, the battery info tells me "battery unknown". It seems to completely igonore it. It ran as long the battery was full but now it's empty and my Magician doesn't work anymore
What could be the problem for the not recognized battery?
My XDA mini is in original state:
ROM-Version: 1.12.01 GER
ROM-Date: 05/28/05
Radio-Version: 1.12.00
Protocol-Version: 1337.42
ExtROM-Version: 1.12.144 GEr
has nobody before used a replacement battery? did it work or didn't?
So, i've had the same problem. I had to change battery, i couldn't do anything with it. =(
Hi: I opened the old (orginal) and the new battery to change the electronic inside the battery case. I thought this might solve the problem of the not accepted battery.
No luck! The old (original) batery electronic with the new LiIon cell behaved like with the other electronic.
The battery electronic must somehow recognize the different cells (maybe by voltage?).
Maybe somebody has an idea what exactly the electronic battery logic does?
I attached a few pictures of the battery electronic (from ebay battery).
I was thinking in buying one from ebay too. Now, I´m not so sure
HTC battery from ebay (Taiwan)
I have bought two of them (for HP H65XX, 3.7V 1400mAh)...
None is working on HTC Magician (SPV M500).
Tried on Qtek S100 - not working
Tried on HP H6530 - it works

Hi,
I was wondering if the battery of HTC Magician is the same as the battery of the HTC Prophet?
Reason for asking is that the 2 PPCs have the same measurements and the original battery of both is 1200mAh.
But, for the S100 I found a 2500mAh battery, where there are no other opportunities for the S200.
Does it fit? Do they have the same contacts? Can anyone check it?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
DJ Chase
According to this thread, yes.
Hi! I have got a problem.
I bought a used MDA because mine broke. But the hardware inside looks different. For example the reset Button is on the left side of the mini-usb and there is no battery under the Speaker. But that does not matter for me.
The Problem i have is that the phone turns in a different Boot-Mode after pressing Power+Camera+Reset. The Boot-Mode i was used on my old MDA looked like a black screen with SERIAL written on it and % of updating.
The new Boot-Modus-Screen looks like red-green-blue stripes and its written IPL 1.12 SPL 1.12
Please tell me what kind of MDA i have and how i can turn it into Boot-Mode to flash it.
Thanks for the Help, Georg ([email protected])

Based on the hardware you mentioned (eg OMAP850 195MHz, reset button position), the MDA you are having is a MDA Compact 2 (Charmer), and NOT a MDA Compact (Magician). To double check, see if the phone is running WM5. If it is running WM5, it is a Charmer, Magician cannot run WM5.
The 3 colour screen is the bootloader mode. Study the Wiki on Charmer and the Charmer forum before you do anything to it. The Charmer and Magician is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT phone, although they look very similar.
Thx for that Info Hanmin! And of course you are absolute right! I got a MDA Compact II ! Just tell me if i should be happy about it or not?
Well i am happy, because i broke my old MDA half a year ago and bought the MDA c II (with broken screen) for € 20,- on a 2nd hand market. I took the still working screen from my old MDA and mounted it on the new MDA II.
So i got a working device for little price, but i am not sure if i like it more than my old MDA...
Google the advantage of WM5 over WM2003, you will see the advantage of your new phone.
However, you may find some apps run slightly slower on your new phone though. There are pros and cons, but generally, it is a good news. Further, I think your phone is less than 2 years old, so chances that it will break again is minimal. I think.
Hi,
Yesterday my Qtek 2020i's display broke.
Repairing will cost 200 EUR, this is too much if you can get one new for 350 EUR.
However, I found this display:
http://cgi.ebay.at/orginal-Display-...QQihZ012QQcategoryZ123195QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It says, that it's also compatible with XDA 2i and MDA 2i but Qtek 2020i is not listed (only 2020).
Can I make sure that Qtek 2020i is the same as XDA 2i?
And, more important, the model number for the selled display is: 60H00022-00
I opened my Qtek but my model number is 60H00022-03 :-(
Does anybody know if that display will also work?
If not, I've a big problem!
Are there other solutions then?
Thank you very much in advance!
Niki
Qtek 2020i is the XDAIIi, yes.
If you are competent in DIY repair, try E-Bay for parts.
Keywords: Dopod 696 screen
The screen component is made up of 2 essential parts, the touch screen digitizer and the LCD screen.
Let hope not all of your two components are broken.
If the digitizer is cracked, the cost is rather low.
