Jasjam Touch ? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi.
I'm new user here... and a newbie with ppc.
I Was wondering...
Do you think that by changing the Hermes LCD to HTC TOUCH LCD, will make Hermes be more sensitive to finger touch ?
Or maybe it will not work at all ?
Oren

If this is just theory, I really dont think that changing the lcds will help in sensitivity as the touch is basically a jasjam without the slideout keyboard. as to whether it will work or not, chances are it will (keep in mind it needs to fit and cables need to be compatable) but I'm not going to experiment on my $1000 baby....Cheers

Is this Normal Screen Behaviour?

Hi,
Recently ive repaired a HTC Universal, put it back together as best as i could.
Now when i do touch the screen with a stylus, the screen has funny colours behind it. It kind of like when you touch/ prod your Computer LCD. It only happens when theres pressure on the screen so its not really a huge problem. The touch screen is definately there cause when i tap the screen it responds (e.g i tap start and the menu pops down).
If its normal then i can take it, but if its not im complaining to the ebay seller.
This doesent happen when i put any form of pressure on my HTC magician LCD, so im curious.
Let me know what happens with your universal
Cheers,
Whitemoo.
This is not normal behaviour of any touchscreen device!!
hmmm... well i just looked at the broken lcd screen, and even though the LCD itself is shattered, the touch screen is in perfect nick.
I put pressure on the touch screen and couldnt see any of the symptoms i saw on my current LCD
You guys recon i should swap the touch screen over? either way im complaining to the sellers, DODGY.
whitemoo.
from my knowledge, im pretty sure its normal. it happens sometimes on my 9000 so yeahh....

need keyboard with connector

Hello there, with placing my keyboard part in a new housing i damaged the flexible circuit of it, now some keys dont work anymore.
I was looking everywhere to buy a broken herald or wing so i can take the keyboard from that one. I cant find the keyboard circuit as a part on ebay or webstores.
Maybe anyone on this board has a herald with broken lcd or defect hardware except the keyboard hardware?
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated!

auto screen rotation

does any one kows any software for auto screen rotation for htc touch dual?
thanks on advance.
Sorry, but for have the auto rotating screen, you must have the accelerometer (sorry, i dont know if in english is exact) wich is an hardware piece.
you need hardware for that , not software
Im guessing you wanted to make it like the iphone

Why iPhone? There's not just the iPhone whit this feature!
By the way, i wonder if its possible to install an accelerometer on a phone who doesn't have it.
yeah... not just iphone that have this feature. also available in HTC Diamond, Touch Pro and Touch HD.
Mobile phones nowadays are coming out with accelerometers built in, which is basically a device built into the phone that “tells” the phone which way it is being held up, down, left, right, moving etc.
Accelerometer is not a piece of software, it's a component inside the phone. So, if u guys need one, change to one of the phone that I mentioned earlier.

Touch screen problem

I have serious problem with my o2 xda mini s pda.
After I buy this pda touch screen work perfectly but after few uses touch screen stop work or work sporadically in landscape. I started to seatch for a sollution. I found that the flex cable can be damaged for long time use but in addiotion the all screen can stop work correctly after dagmage this flex cable (my screen work good - no trail or something).
Now the touch screen stop response for any touch (potrair or landscape).
My question is what can i do ? Can anybody tell me what is the faulty part (flex cable or touch layer) ? Maybe there is other option...

Advice after touch screen no more work

Hi,
The touch screen of my HTC elf doesn't work anymore.
I am going to order some parts to change the digitizer myself and also the casing to make it look a little newer.
Anyway, I'd like to understand how the touch functionality works exactly. Is it a pressure on the digitizer itself that make a "touch" or is it a pressure on the digitizer that press the screen and this action make a "touch" ?
When I power my disassemble Elf, a pressure on the screen itself doesn't do anything....
I'd like to know if I need to order a screen as well
Hi,
just replaced my own elf's digitizer a month ago... and the phone is like new.
To answer your question it's the digitizer that reads pressure and sends the data to the system (if you already disassembled it you should have noticed a flat cable that connects the digitizer to the board).
So if the screen on your elf is working you should solve the problem by replacing only the digitizer.
You rock, I order now
